his morning we’ve received a taste of the kind of ‘respectful debate’ that Malcolm Turnbull’s completely unnecessary, $160 million marriage equality plebiscite will bring to Australia.
Opponents of marriage equality are demanding that both sides of the marriage equality issue are provided with taxpayer funding to make their case to the Australian people in this plebiscite.
This would mean that Malcolm Turnbull will be writing cheques to the kind of groups that photoshop rainbow nooses onto stock photos.
He’ll be writing cheques to these groups to produce television ads telling LGBTI Australians that they are flawed parents who will damage their children.
He’ll be writing cheques to these groups to install billboards telling LGBTI teenagers that the love that they feel, the relationships they form, are inferior to hetrosexual love and not deserving of recognition from the society in which they live.
But why is Malcolm Turnbull so keen to write groups like this a cheques?
The sad reality is that it’s easier for Malcolm Turnbull to write a cheque to groups that will photoshop rainbow nooses into images than it is for him to show leadership in his party room.
It’s easier to fund crap like this, than to take a stand for what he believes in.

Opponents of marriage equality are demanding that both sides of the marriage equality issue are provided with taxpayer funding to make their case to the Australian people in this plebiscite.
This would mean that Malcolm Turnbull will be writing cheques to the kind of groups that photoshop rainbow nooses onto stock photos.
He’ll be writing cheques to these groups to produce television ads telling LGBTI Australians that they are flawed parents who will damage their children.
He’ll be writing cheques to these groups to install billboards telling LGBTI teenagers that the love that they feel, the relationships they form, are inferior to hetrosexual love and not deserving of recognition from the society in which they live.
But why is Malcolm Turnbull so keen to write groups like this a cheques?
The sad reality is that it’s easier for Malcolm Turnbull to write a cheque to groups that will photoshop rainbow nooses into images than it is for him to show leadership in his party room.
