The black box flight recorders have been recovered from the wreckage of the Airbus jet which crashed near the Romanian capital Bucharest.
Investigators hope they will help to explain what caused the tragedy, which claimed the lives of all 59 people aboard the plane on Friday.
Wreckage from the plane crash was scattered across a field in the Village of Balotesti, 13 miles north of Bucharest.
The force of the impact shattered the plane into small pieces, many of them ploughing into the earth.
Despite this, investigators from Romania's civil aviation authorities have recovered the plane's black boxes.
These flight recorders in specially protected containers may yield valuable information about the last moments of the plane.
Some eyewitnesses reported seeing it explode before hitting the ground.
Investigators have refused to confirm whether they are treating the crash as suspicious.

"The recorders will be sent abroad for investigation. I don't know yet where they'll be sent. They are still investigating any possible evidence that can help discover the cause of the accident."

The Belgian ambassador in Romania said his country was bringing in an expert team of its own to help identify victims and investigate the cause of the crash.

"We have received a special team of our Gendarmarie, specialists in two particular fields: identification of victims and technical examination of the accident. They can do what you are asking about other causes and how the remains are proceeding, offering assistance wherever they can."

There has been widespread speculation about the cause of the crash.
Two weeks ago a Tarom flight to Brussels was forced to make an emergency landing in western Romania after the airline received a hoax bomb threat.
Another unconfirmed theory is that it could be linked to the arrest by Belgian police last month of several Islamic fundamentalists linked to the armed struggle in Algeria.

Romania (
i/roʊˈmeɪniə/ roh-MAY-nee-ə; Romanian: România [romɨˈni.a]) is a unitary semi-presidential republic located in Southeastern Europe, bordering the Black Sea, between Bulgaria and Ukraine. It also borders Hungary, Serbia, and Moldova. It covers 238,391 square kilometres (92,043 sq mi) and has a temperate-continental climate. With its 19.94 million inhabitants, it is the seventh most populous member state of the European Union. Its capital and largest city, Bucharest, is the sixth largest city in the EU.
The River Danube, which is Europe's second longest river after the Volga, rises in Germany and flows southeastwards for a distance of 2,857 km, coursing through ten countries before emptying in Romania's Danube Delta. Some of its 1,075 km length bordering the country drains the whole of it. The Carpathian Mountains, with their tallest peak Moldoveanu at 2,544 m (8,346 ft), cross Romania from the north to the southwest.
Modern Romania emerged within the territories of the ancient Roman province of Dacia, and was formed in 1859 through a personal union of the Danubian Principalities of Moldavia and Wallachia. The new state, officially named Romania since 1866, gained independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1877. At the end of World War I, Transylvania, Bukovina and Bessarabia united with the sovereign Kingdom of Romania. During World War II, Romania was an ally of Nazi Germany against the Soviet Union, fighting side by side with the Wehrmacht until 1944, then it joined the Allied powers after being occupied by the Red Army forces. During the war, Romania lost several territories, of which Northern Transylvania was regained after the war. Following the war, Romania became a socialist republic and member of the Warsaw Pact. After the 1989 Revolution, Romania began a transition back towards democracy and a capitalist market economy.

The black box flight recorders have been recovered from the wreckage of the Airbus jet which crashed near the Romanian capital Bucharest.
Investigators hope they will help to explain what caused the tragedy, which claimed the lives of all 59 people aboard the plane on Friday.
Wreckage from the plane crash was scattered across a field in the Village of Balotesti, 13 miles north of Bucharest.
The force of the impact shattered the plane into small pieces, many of them ploughing into the earth.
Despite this, investigators from Romania's civil aviation authorities have recovered the plane's black boxes.
These flight recorders in specially protected containers may yield valuable information about the last moments of the plane.
Some eyewitnesses reported seeing it explode before hitting the ground.
Investigators have refused to confirm whether they are treating the crash as suspicious.
SOUNDBITE:
"The recorders will be sent abroad for investigation. I don't know yet where they'll be sent. They are still investigating any possible evidence that can help discover the cause of the accident."

In the giant wooden lands caves can be found, while among the alpine snow-capped mountains tarns are awaiting the tourists. Yep, I was exhausted!! But I said I'd share this trip with you guys, so I did, right from the beginning! =D I was rather ill in the airport so yes, I look somewhat like a starving zombie in need of a human brain to eat. However, this was my second time flying so I was still happy and excited and I was going to meet Greta!! I hope you like the vids I'm going to show you, Romania was GORGEOUS and had SO MUCH I can't even explain it all to you! This is why I love youtube and sharing what I've done and love. They operate Boeing 737-300's, 400's & 500's so I thought it would be a good opportunity to get on one of these older style 737's. They operate from Luton & Liverpool to Bucharest and Bacau with some very competitive prices. For instance this flight was only £11! So with prices like that and similar prices return with Wizz air later that evening a day to Bucharest was arranged! They are very light: 1 gram and have a span of 65 cm. They are powered by twisted rubber bands. The flying time per flight could exceeds 40 minutes. The class has undergone some rule changes, the current (2014) rules include a minimum weight of 1.2 gram. Its been a while since I went for a day out courtesy of Wizz so I'd been looking at somewhere to go for a reasonable price and this popped up. Flying out with Wizz in the morning and back to Stansted with Ryanair in the evening return flights to Brno were only £32! So I went for it. This was flight W6 2802 departing Luton on a very grey, wet morning, but that caused for some great rain effects during the take off roll. The flight departed 40mins late due to the poor ground handling at Luton. The aircraft had operated inbound from Sofia (Bulgaria) and arrived 20mins early at 6:30 instead of 6:50. But upon its arrival at the stand no-one arrived to assist a disabled passenger to get them off the aircraft for almost an hour...

Aruna & Hari Sharma from Uppsala University, Sweden came to Romania Black Sea Resort in Eforie Nord for 7th International School of Neurology. They operate Boeing 737-300's, 400's & 500's so I thought it would be a good opportunity to get on one of these older style 737's. Its been a while since I went for a day out courtesy of Wizz so I'd been looking at somewhere to go for a reasonable price and this popped up. Flying out with Wizz in the morning and back to Stansted with Ryanair in the evening return flights to Brno were only £32! So I went for it.
This was flight W6 2802 departing Luton on a very grey, wet morning, but that caused for some great rain effects during the take off roll. The flight departed 40mins late due to the poor ground handling at Luton. The aircraft had operated inbound from Sofia (Bulgaria) and arrived 20mins early at 6:30 instead of 6:50. But upon its arrival at the stand no-one arrived to assist a disabled passenger to get them off the aircraft for almost an hour! Resulting in the delay of our flight back out to Brno! That's not Wizzair's fault, that's Luton's ground handling's fault and hour wait for requested assistance for a disabled passenger is quite horrendous. Eventually the police were called to assist because as you'd imagine the passenger was becoming quite irritated. But finally at 7:25, already 5 mins late we began boarding.
We had one the notorious "White Nosed" Wizz planes, there's a few floating about with white noses which stands out like a sore thumb against the purple fuselage. Other than those hiccups with the ground crew at Luton a very nice flight, made up some of the lost time too.
I did have to quickly cut recording on approach to change over my battery, it was cut for about 3 seconds.

After concluding the Summer School program they are flying back from Bucharest Otopeni International Airport to Zürich International Airport, Switzerland on their way to Stockholm, Arlanda, Sweden on 6th July. The newly constructed Bucharest Airport is very nice and Airline Lounges are very well maintained. This development of Bucharest Airport took place quite shortly and this is very impressive. They are seen talking about the problems of upgrading airport or infrastructure in India where political parties try to prevent or block any move by the Govt to make new airports or upgrade it. Due to this reason several airports in India that requires upgrade or new construction are blocked by political will of people who are not interested in the development of the country (India) but only care about their way to remain in power. This has hastened the development in India. Their Swiss Air flight of roughly 2 h from Bucharest to Zürich was very pleasurable as the weather was very clear and view from the airplane was nice. The route includes Romania Carpathian Mountains, Austrian Alps and then Switzerland. The whole journey was lovely and the mountaintops of Alps or Carpathian mountain chain looks beautiful. Obviously, Swiss airports and Zürich are very nice and effective for air travellers.
