Entre janvier et mars 1996, le gang de Roubaix a semé la terreur dans la région de Lille. Des braquages de supermarchés à l'arme lourde aux fusillades en pleine ville, jusqu'à une tentative d'attentat : ils ont semé le trouble sur leurs motivations terroristes.
Leurs deux leaders avaient des liens très fort avec l'islamisme. Olivier Guérin, procureur de la République de Lille, Gérard Hostekint, chef de groupe à la PJ de Lille, et Philippe Gouget, de la brigade anticriminalité de Roubaix reviennent, entre autres intervenants, sur cette affaire.

Paris-Roubaix also know as the “Hell of the North” is one of the hardest one day races in the world. Top cyclists from around the world head to Compiègne to ride 257.5 kilometers north to Roubaix on 27 sectors of “pavé" or cobblestones.
The terrain of the race has led to the development of specialized frames, wheels, and tires. The 114th edition of Pairs-Roubaix was one of the most exciting finishes in years as many legends were out to claim the king of cobbles. Four-time winner Tom Boonen was looking to add his fifth title to his resume but it was 37 year old Matthew Haymen from Orica-GreenEDGE who out sprinted Boonen in the last 50 meters.

Roubaix (French pronunciation: [ʁu.bɛ]; Dutch Robaais, sometimes also called Robeke, although Robaais is the only correct translation according to the Dutch Language Union) is a commune in the Nord department in northern France. It is located between the cities of Lille and Tourcoing.
The Gare de Roubaix railway station offers connections to Lille, Tourcoing, Antwerp, Ostend and Paris.
Notable is La Piscine art gallery, which, as the name implies, is located in the old municipal swimming pool. Discobolos (international artist Wim Delvoye's) is the first work of modern art, ordered by the inhabitants, with the Comité de quartier de l'Hommelet, an association of citizens.
On 16 May 1967, Roubaix was the venue of the final live performance in the career of singer Jacques Brel.
Roubaix is the finish of the Paris–Roubaix cycling classic from Compiègne to Roubaix over 259.5 km, which includes almost 50 km of cobbles.
One of the longest distance walking races in the world also takes place each year in Roubaix. Since 1953 the televised 'Roubaix 28 hours' regularly sees elite endurance athletes from dozens of countries aiming to complete the longest distance possible within the 28 hour time limit. The current record is over 255 kilometres, with many each year completing more than 200 km.

Peter Sagan (born January 26, 1990 in Žilina) is a Slovak professional road bicycle racer for UCI ProTour team Liquigas-Cannondale. Sagan had a successful junior mountain bike racing career, winning the Junior World Championship in 2008, before moving to road racing.
At the age of 22 Sagan is considered to be one of cycling's most promising talents, having won two stages at Paris–Nice, one at the Tour de Romandie, two and the overall classification at the Tour de Pologne, a record eight at the Tour of California, two at the Tour de Suisse, three at the Vuelta a España as well as the overall classification and three stages of the Giro di Sardegna.
Sagan is the youngest child among three brothers and a sister. He was brought up by his sister as his parents spent most of the day taking care of a small grocery shop they own in his hometown. His brother Juraj Sagan is a cyclist with Liquigas-Cannondale.
Sagan started to ride bikes at the age of nine when he joined Cyklistický spolok Žilina, a small local club in his home town. Throughout his junior age Sagan rode both mountain bikes and road bikes, and was well known for his unconventional style to ride in tennis shoes and t-shirts, drinking just pure water. Sagan drew a significant attention when he appeared at the Slovak Cup with a bicycle borrowed off his sister after he had mistakenly sold his own and the one from Velosprint sponsor was delayed. Riding the supermarket bike with poor brakes and limited gear, he won the race.

The film follows the French Paris-Roubaix spring classic, notorious for the hellish paves or cobbled roads of the north "which are no longer used for traffic but only for transporting cattle - and for cycle races". Paris-Roubaix also know as the “Hell of the North” is one of the hardest one day races in the world. Top cyclists from around the world head to Compiègne to ride 257.5 kilometers north to Roubaix on 27 sectors of “pavé" or cobblestones.
The terrain of the race has led to the development of specialized frames, wheels, and tires. The 114th edition of Pairs-Roubaix was one of the most exciting finishes in years as many legends were out to claim the king of cobbles. Four-time winner Tom Boonen was looking to add his fifth title to his resume but it was 37 year old Matthew Haymen from Orica-GreenEDGE who out sprinted Boonen in the last 50 meters.

The spring classic race Paris-Roubaix has made a very specific type of road famous on a global scale. Centuries old farm tracks, known as "pavé" are used to provide a unique challenge to the racers. This challenge comes from the fact that they are made up of large and exceedingly rough cobbles.
To ride these requires the correct technique, exceedingly good bike handling, and the right equipment to make sure that both you and bike get through in one piece.

The spring classic race Paris-Roubaix has made a very specific type of road famous on a global scale. Centuries old farm tracks, known as "pavé" are used to provide a unique challenge to the racers. This challenge comes from the fact that they are made up of large and exceedingly rough cobbles.
To ride these requires the correct technique, exceedingly good bike handling, and the right equipment to make sure that both you and bike get through in one piece.

We are there from the dawn preparations and rituals on the outskirts of Paris and through the rigours of the race with special focus on a number of prominent cyclists to the final outcome on the Roubaix cycle track - followed by the filthy riders taking their showers. There is also an eye for life among the spectators and the media event as such. The film alternates among different kinds of shot with a view to establishing the most suitable view of the narrative: shots from motorcycles, which are able to convey the motion of the race and provide close ups of the riders in the style of television cycle race reporting; fixed cameras stationed at strategically important points along the route, where viewers can watch riders passing in real time and thus gain a clear overview of the distance between the leaders and the main field: and the Olympian eye of the helicopter shots.

The defining feature of this bike, which was unveiled in the spring of 2015, is the rear 'suspension' system which intersects the seatpost and seatstays. It offers up to to 10mm of travel. Other modifications for the pavé include FMB tubulars, usually only seen at the spring classic Paris-Roubaix, plus an extra layer of handlebar tape to make the tops that little bit more comfy. The K8-S was designed with cobbles in mind, and that's exactly what Chris Froome and the other yellow jersey contenders have to deal with on Stage 4 of this years Tour. The defining feature of this bike, which was unveiled in the spring of 2015, is the rear 'suspension' system which intersects the seatpost and seatstays. It offers up to to 10mm of travel.
Other modifications for the pavé include FMB tubulars, usually only seen at the spring classic Paris-Roubaix, plus an extra layer of handlebar tape to make the tops that little bit more comfy.
