Game show

A game show is a type of radio, television, or internet programming genre in which contestants, television personalities or celebrities, sometimes as part of a team, play a game which involves answering questions or solving puzzles usually for money and/or prizes. Alternatively, a gameshow can be a demonstrative program about a game (while usually retaining the spirit of an awards ceremony). In the former, contestants may be invited from a pool of public applicants. On some shows, contestants compete against other players or another team, while other shows involve contestants playing alone for a good outcome or a high score. Game shows often reward players with prizes such as cash, trips and goods and services provided by the show's sponsor prize suppliers, who in turn usually do so for the purposes of product placement.

History

Television game shows descended from similar programs on radio. The very first television game show, Spelling Bee, was broadcast in 1938. Truth or Consequences was the first game show to air on commercially licensed television. Its first episode aired in 1941 as an experimental broadcast.

The Giddy Game Show

The Giddy Game Show was an animated quiz show for pre-school children, made by Yorkshire Television from 1985 to 1987. Scripts were by Marian Lines and Joy Whitby. The first interactive children's television programme. Using technology developed by Peter Schrek, children had a wand to indicate objects on the screen.

The programme was set in a scientific observatory inhabited by Giddy, a friendly alien who flew around on a magic pink pencil, setting simple games and puzzles.

Redvers Kyle provided the voice for Giddy, although the little alien sounded very different from the familiar and distinctive sound of Kyle in his regular role as programme announcer for Yorkshire Television.

The other characters that inhabited the observatory were a stupid but lovable gorilla called Gorilla (voiced by Bernard Bresslaw), and a professor called Gus (voiced by Richard Vernon).

Great dodecicosahedron

In geometry, the great dodecicosahedron is a nonconvex uniform polyhedron, indexed as U₆₃. Its vertex figure is a crossed quadrilateral.

It has a composite Wythoff symbol, 3 5/3 (3/2 5/2) |, requiring two different Schwarz triangles to generate it: (3 5/3 3/2) and (3 5/3 5/2). (3 5/3 3/2 | represents the great dodecicosahedron with an extra 12 {10/2} pentagons, and 3 5/3 5/2 | represents it with an extra 20 {6/2} triangles.)

Its vertex figure 6.10/3.6/5.10/7 is also ambiguous, having two clockwise and two counterclockwise faces around each vertex.

Related polyhedra

It shares its vertex arrangement with the truncated dodecahedron. It additionally shares its edge arrangement with the great icosicosidodecahedron (having the hexagonal faces in common) and the great ditrigonal dodecicosidodecahedron (having the decagrammic faces in common).

Filling

There is some controversy on how to colour the faces of this polyhedron. Although the common way to fill in a polygon is to just colour its whole interior, this can result in some filled regions hanging as membranes over empty space. Hence, the "neo filling" is sometimes used instead as a more accurate filling. In the neo filling, orientable polyhedra are filled traditionally, but non-orientable polyhedra have their faces filled with the modulo-2 method (only odd-density regions are filled in).

Remember (The Fiery Furnaces album)

Remember is the first live album from indie rock band The Fiery Furnaces, released on August 19, 2008. The album includes various live performances of songs from their first six studio albums, recorded between 2005 and the tour for their 2007 album, Widow City. Some longer songs, such as "Blueberry Boat" and "Quay Cur", have multiple cuts in the track from various performances. Other songs, such as the tracks from the Bitter Tea medley, were recorded live in the recording studio.

Show Luo (simplified Chinese: 罗志祥; traditional Chinese: 羅志祥; pinyin: Luó Zhìxiáng; born July 30, 1979) is a Taiwanese singer, actor and host. He was commonly known by his Chinese nickname Xiao Zhu(Little Pig) due to being overweight during his middle school years. He was also commonly known as “Asia’s Dance King” by the Taiwanese media for his dance skills. He is well known for hosting the Taiwanese variety show 100% Entertainment.

Show was born into a musical family. His father was a host and his mother was a singer. Their job was holding entertainment shows for different events such as the wedding.Show started playing drums when he was three and performed onstage during his childhood. He won a silver award at a singing contest when he was only 7.

In 2006, he created his own fashion brand called STAGE. Now this fashion store has branches in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore and succeeded in the fashion trend in Asia during the recent years.

Show Luo became the spokesperson for Love Blind Charity in 2008. Next year, he was asked to become the leader of “Love Blind promise Career Starter Class”. The Love Blind Charity hope Show Luo can gathering everyone’s power to help people with vision disability find a job. Show Luo encouraged people to put the coins into the donation box instead of their wallets. This money might give people with vision disability more opportunities. Show also designed some items for charity sales.

The Game (rapper)

Jayceon Terrell Taylor (born November 29, 1979), better known by his stage name The Game (or simply Game), is an American rapper and actor. Game is best known as a rapper in the West Coast hip hop scene, and for being one of Dr. Dre's most notable protégés. Born in Los Angeles, California, he released his first mixtape You Know What It Is Vol. 1 in 2002, and landed a record deal with the independent label Get Low Recordz owned by JT the Bigga Figga. The Game's mixtape reached the hands of Sean Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, who originally was on the verge of signing him to his label. Five months later, he was discovered by Dr. Dre who listened to the mixtape and signed him to his Aftermath Entertainment label in 2003. He rose to fame in 2005 with the success of his debut album The Documentary (2005) and Doctor's Advocate (2006). The Recording Industry Association of America certified his album The Documentary double platinum in March 2005 and it has sold over five million copies worldwide.
