Here's a quick video on how the human nervous system works. It is animated and explains it all. This includes the Centeral Nervous System (CNS) & the the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). The CNS includes the spinal-cord and mind. The PNS consists primarily of nerves, which are extended fibers that link the CNS to each other area of the human anatomy.
In the cellular-level, the stressed system is described by the existence of a special kind of cell, named the neuron, also referred to as a "nerve mobile". Neurons have unique constructions that let them send signs quickly and just to other cells. They deliver these signs in the kind of electrochemical waves touring along slender fibers called axons, which trigger chemicals called neuro-transmitters to be discharged at junctions called synapses. A mobile that gets a sign from a neuron could be thrilled, inhibited, or else modulated. The links between neurons type neural circuits that create a being's understanding of earth and determine its behaviour. Together with neurons, the stressed system includes other specific cells called glial cells (or only glia), which supply structural and metabolic assistance.
Nervous systems are observed in most multicellular creatures, but differ significantly in complexness.[1] The single multicellular creatures without any nervous program at each one is sponges, placozoans and mesozoans, that have really uncomplicated body plans. The nervous system is an organ system containing a network of specialized cells called neurons that coordinate the actions of an animal and transmit signals between different parts of its body. In most animals the nervous system consists of two parts, central and peripheral. The central nervous system of vertebrates (such as humans) contains the brain, spinal cord, and retina. The peripheral nervous system consists of sensory neurons, clusters of neurons called ganglia, and nerves connecting them to each other and to the central nervous system. These regions are all interconnected by means of complex neural pathways. The enteric nervous system, a subsystem of the peripheral nervous system, has the capacity, even when severed from the rest of the nervous system through its primary connection by the vagus nerve, to function independently in controlling the gastrointestinal system.
Neurons send signals to other cells as electrochemical waves travelling along thin fibers called axons, which cause chemicals called neurotransmitters to be released at junctions called synapses. A cell that receives a synaptic signal may be excited, inhibited, or otherwise modulated. Sensory neurons are activated by physical stimuli impinging on them, and send signals that inform the central nervous system of the state of the body and the external environment. Motor neurons, situated either in the central nervous system or in peripheral ganglia, connect the nervous system to muscles or other effector organs. Central neurons, which in vertebrates greatly outnumber the other types, make all of their input and output connections with other neurons. The interactions of all these types of neurons form neural circuits that generate an organism's perception of the world and determine its behavior. Along with neurons, the nervous system contains other specialized cells called glial cells (or simply glia), which provide structural and metabolic support.

How Nervous System Works
Here's a quick video on how the human nervous system works. It is animated and explains it all. This includes the Centeral Nervous System (CNS) & the the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). The CNS includes the spinal-cord and mind. The PNS consists primarily of nerves, which are extended fibers that link the CNS to each other area of the human anatomy. In the cellular-level, the stressed system is described by the existence of a special kind of cell, named the neuron, also referred to as a "nerve mobile". Neurons have unique constructions that let them send signs quickly and just to other cells. They deliver these signs in the kind of electrochemical waves touring along slender fibers called axons, which trigger chemicals called neuro-transmitters to be discharged at junctions called synaps... -

He then discusses the major parts of a neuron and explains how action potentials are generated using voltage-gated ion channels. He explains how neurotransmitters transmit messages across a synapse and how these messages can be either inhibitory or excitatory.

Here's a quick video on how the human nervous system works. It is animated and explains it all. This includes the Centeral Nervous System (CNS) & the the Peripheral Nervous System (PNS). The CNS includes the spinal-cord and mind. The PNS consists primarily of nerves, which are extended fibers that link the CNS to each other area of the human anatomy.
In the cellular-level, the stressed system is described by the existence of a special kind of cell, named the neuron, also referred to as a "nerve mobile". Neurons have unique constructions that let them send signs quickly and just to other cells. They deliver these signs in the kind of electrochemical waves touring along slender fibers called axons, which trigger chemicals called neuro-transmitters to be discharged at junctions called synapses. A mobile that gets a sign from a neuron could be thrilled, inhibited, or else modulated. The links between neurons type neural circuits that create a being's understanding of earth and determine its behaviour. Together with neurons, the stressed system includes other specific cells called glial cells (or only glia), which supply structural and metabolic assistance.
Nervous systems are observed in most multicellular creatures, but differ significantly in complexness.[1] The single multicellular creatures without any nervous program at each one is sponges, placozoans and mesozoans, that have really uncomplicated body plans. Pranayama exercises are various styles of breathing techniques that Yogis use in enhance vital life force energy into the body. Today we are going to look at a beginner exercise called the natural breath.
Some of you at home may be thinking what does the word Pranayama really mean? Well Pranayama is comprised of two roots words being Prana and ayama.
Prana means vital energy
Ayama means life force. Affirming that this style of breath work increases vital energy into the body.
Ok so if you're thinking you need to calm down and not wind up please stay with me here as Pranayama can actually help us with our levels of energy as well as calming us down.
Our breath is a vital process and not something in the western world we are really taught how to do. Breathing essential and is controlled by our parasympathetic nervous system, meaning that it is an automatic response that is performed unconsciously by the body. But there is good news it is something that we can consciously control by beginning to direct our attention there.
By triggering your PNS at will, can immediately lowers your sense of stress, brings health benefits like reducing blood pressure and strengthening the immune system, and lift your mood.
Most people breathe incorrectly, with a shallow breath into the lung which can leave the body deprived of oxygen.Rhythmic and deep slow respiration stimulates a calm and content state of mind.
So now that we know it’s great for our body and mind let’s begin with a short and easy exercise that you can practice at home. We will be using a natural breathing exercise, this will bring your awareness to the pattern of your breath and can be practised at any time.
Make sure you're in a place where you feel safe to begin so that you can fully let go. Turn your mobile devices to silent so that you don’t have any distractions.
Begin by sitting in a natural and comfortable position. Make sure that your body is upright to start with otherwise you may find that if you lay down you may fall asleep.
When you're ready to begin by closing your eyes.
Allow yourself to simply let go and relax the whole body.
Observe your natural breath and the breathing process.
Notice the rhythm that flows with your breath.
Close your mouth and allow the breath to flow in and out of the nose.
Don’t try and control the breath, allow yourself to simply be the observer.
Notice the freshness of the breath as it enters the nostrils and how it warms on the exhale.
Become a detached witness to your breath.
Bring your attention to your breath as it flows down and out of the back of your throat.
Observe your chest and how it begins to expand and deflate with each breath.
Shift your attention to the lower rib cage and observe the expansion and relaxation of this area.
Follow your breath down to your abdomen feel it expand and contract with each breath.
Following your breath all the way through the inspiration and expiration cycle.
Bring your awareness back to your physical body, place your hands over your beautiful face and slowly open the eyes.
You should be feeling a little more relaxed just from that short simple exercise. Try and practice this at least once a day.

The ANS is classically divided into two subsystems: the parasympathetic nervous system (PSNS) and sympathetic nervous system (SNS), which operate independently in some functions and interact co-operatively in others. In many cases the two have "opposite" actions where one activates a physiological response and the other inhibits it. An older simplification of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems as "excitory" and "inhibitory" was overturned due to the many exceptions found. A more modern characterisation is that the sympathetic nervous system is a "quick response mobilising system" and the parasympathetic is a "more slowly activated dampening system." The catecholamines are epinephrine (adrenaline), norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and dopamine. The catecholamines are produced from tyrosine.
G proteins, also known as guanine nucleotide-binding proteins, are a family of proteins involved in transmitting signals from a variety of different stimuli outside a cell into the inside of the cell. G proteins function as molecular switches. Their activity is regulated by factors that control their ability to bind to and hydrolyze guanosine triphosphate (GTP) to guanosine diphosphate (GDP). When they bind GTP, they are 'on', and, when they bind GDP, they are 'off'. G proteins belong to the larger group of enzymes called GTPases

Your central nervous system includes your brain and your spinal chord. There are many nerves that connect your brain and body parts and organs through your spinal chords. Your nerves exit your sine between your vertebral foramina. If your spinal column is compressed, out of alignment or your discs have wear and tear, then your nerves become impinged which cuts off the flow of energy to your muscles and organs. By maintaining the suppleness of your spine through yoga you are greatly assisting your central nervous system.
Your spinal cavity contains the spinal cord, while the head contains the brain. Your central nervous system is enclosed and protected by meninges, a three-layered system of membranes, including a tough, leathery outer layer called the dura mater. Your brain is also protected by your skull, while your spinal cord is protected by your vertebrae.
Your peripheral nervous system (PNS) includes the parts of your nervous system structures that do not lie within your central nervous system. A large majority of your axon bundles called nerves are considered to belong to the peripheral nervous system, even when the cell bodies of the neurons to which they belong reside within the brain or spinal cord. The PNS is divided into somatic and visceral parts. The somatic part consists of the nerves that innervate the skin, joints, and muscles. The cell bodies of somatic sensory neurons lie in dorsal root ganglia of the spinal cord. The visceral part, also known as the autonomic nervous system, contains neurons that innervate the internal organs, blood vessels, and glands. The autonomic nervous system itself consists of two parts: the sympathetic nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous system, which we talked about at great length in episode 192.
As I mentioned, your central nervous system includes your brain and your spinal chord and this acts as the integrative and control center. Next comes the peripheral nervous system which includes your cranial nerves and spinal nerves. They act as the communication lines between your central nervous system and the rest of your body. As I mentioned, your peripheral nervous system breaks down into your somatic and visceral parts or the sensory and motor divisions. The sensory division affects somatic and visceral nerve fibers which conduct nerve impulses to the central nervous system. The motor division affects motor nerve fibers which conducts impulses from your central nervous system to your muscles and glands. Your motor division then affects your autonomic nervous system and your somatic nervous system. Your autonomic nervous system is involuntary and affects functions below your level of consciousness such as your heart rate, digestion, respiration rate, salivation, perspiration, pupil dilation, and need to urinate for example. Your somatic nervous system affects nerve impulses to your musculoskeletal system. Your sympathetic nervous system mobilizes your body during fight or flight and your parasympathetic nervous system conserves energy and promotes "house-keeping" such as healing and digestion in your body while at rest.

Frequencies for Nervous System health.
Binaural beats may influence functions of the brain in ways besides those related to hearing. This phenomenon is called frequency following response. The concept is that if one receives a stimulus with a frequency in the range of brain waves, the predominant brain wave frequency is said to be likely to move towards the frequency of the stimulus (a process called entrainment).
In addition, binaural beats have been credibly documented to relate to both spatial perception & stereo auditory recognition, and, according to the frequency following response, activation of various sites in the brain.
The stimulus does not have to be aural; it can also be visual or a combination of aural and visual (one such example would be Dreamachine).
Perceived human hearing is limited to the range of frequencies from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz, but the frequencies of human brain waves are below about 40 Hz. To account for this lack of perception, binaural beat frequencies are used. Beat frequencies of 40 Hz have been produced in the brain with binaural sound and measured experimentally.
When the perceived beat frequency corresponds to the delta, theta, alpha, beta, or gamma range of brainwave frequencies, the brainwaves entrain to or move towards the beat frequency.
For example, if a 315 Hz sine wave is played into the right ear and a 325 Hz one into the left ear, the brain is entrained towards the beat frequency 10 Hz, in the alpha range. Since alpha range is associated with relaxation, this has a relaxing effect or if in the beta range, more alertness. An experiment with binaural sound stimulation using beat frequencies in the Beta range on some participants and Delta/Theta range in other participants, found better vigilance performance and mood in those on the awake alert state of Beta range stimulation.
Binaural beat stimulation has been used fairly extensively to induce a variety of states of consciousness, and there has been some work done in regards to the effects of these stimuli on relaxation, focus, attention, and states of consciousness.
Studies have shown that with repeated training to distinguish close frequency sounds that a plastic reorganization of the brain occurs for the trained frequencies and is capable of asymmetric hemispheric balancing.
The thalamus (from Greek θάλαμος, "inner chamber") is a midline symmetrical structure within the brains of vertebrates including humans, situated between the cerebral cortex and midbrain. Its function includes relaying sensory and motor signals to the cerebral cortex, along with the regulation of consciousness, sleep, and alertness. The thalamus surrounds the third ventricle.
