A firefighter is next to a VENTRY® PPV Fan when, at full RPM, the fan is stabbed with a pike pole!
For 25 years, we have talked about how safe VENTRY Fans are, among their many benefits. Now we have released this video demonstrating this fact.
As the engineer responsible for VENTRY Safety Propellers, our CEO James Neils stood beside our largest gas-powered model, directly in the debris path, while our colleague impaled it with a pike pole. The fan was at full RPM.
As designed, the stricken area of the VENTRY PPV Fan propeller disintegrated harmlessly into tiny wood chips, sawdust, and fabric. The unaffected portion of the prop remained intact and continued to move air. James and five onlookers were unhurt. Besides the prop itself, the fan was also undamaged and was returned to service in a few minutes after prop replacement.
VENTRY Safety Propellers are made in a proprietary process that pressure-bonds Kevlar® and fiberglass over a cedar core, making them very durable and robust as well as uniquely safe.
We hope to make it clear how safe our fans are and to get viewers thinking about fan safety before it becomes an issue on scene. Ventry
Ventry (Irish: Ceann Trá), an anglicization of Fionntrá, is a Gaeltacht village in County Kerry, Ireland. Located on the Dingle Peninsula, 7 kilometres west of Dingle, the village of Ventry was once the main port of the peninsula. Due to its long sandy beach, Ventry is now a popular tourist destination.
Six kilometres west of Ventry are the ruins of Dunbeg (An Dún Beag), an Iron Age promontory fort on the edge of a steep cliff. Near Dunbeg is Kilvickadownig, home to other archeologial ruins, including examples of the beehive house and the grave of Caol or Cháil Mic Crimthainn, the last to die in the Battle of Ventry from the well-known Fenian Cycle myths.
A site of interest in Ventry parish is Rahinnane Castle, which was the residence of the Knight of Kerry. The Knight of Kerry lived there until Cromwellian times. The castle was built on the site of an old ringfort. The ringfort was built up and a second added with walls of six metres (20 feet), giving the appearance that there may have been a moat, although there never was one. Rahinnane Castle still has its very tiny, narrow, stone stairs, from the first to second floors, which can be carefully climbed.

Long's are a family-run centre located in Ventry Village (Ceann Trá) 6 km away from Dingle town (An Daingean) on the beautiful Dingle Peninsula (Corca Dhuibhne, which means "seed or tribe of Duibhne"), Co.kerry, Ireland. Surrounded by rugged mountainous countryside and miles of sandy beaches, there is no better place to enjoy horse riding! Monsignor Pádraig Ó Fiannachta - Unravel Travel TV
Pádraig Ó Fiannachta is a renowned Irish language scholar, poet and priest, born in the Kerry Gaeltacht in 1927. He studied at Maynooth, University College Cork and All Hallows, Clonliffe College. He was ordained a priest in 1953. He spent some time in Wales prior to returning to Maynooth College where he became professor of early Irish in 1960 as well as Welsh Language lecturer. He was made professor of Modern Irish at Maynooth in 1982. He was awarded the Douglas Hyde prize for literature in 1969. He translated and edited an Irish language version of the Bible - An Bíobla Naofa which was published in 1982. He retired from Maynooth in 1992, returning to Dingle as parish priest.
