Honda Indy 200
The Honda Indy 200 is an Indy Racing League IndyCar Series race held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
The U.S. Formula 5000 series ran open wheel races at Mid-Ohio beginning in 1970. The race transferred to the revived Can-Am series in 1977.
The CART series debuted at the track in 1980, and continued to race there from 1983–2003. In 2007, American open wheel racing returned to the venue, when the Indy Racing League IndyCar Series held an event. The race used to be part of a doubleheader with the American Le Mans Series, however in ALMS chose not to return to the track during its final year, 2013. On November 21, 2006, it was announced that weekend of racing secured the sponsorship of Honda.
The history of open-wheel races has a unique footnote. The race has been won consecutively on six occasions, including four times in a row from 1991–1997. It is also one of only a few Indy car races to be won by two sets of fathers & sons. (Mario & Michael Andretti and Bobby & Graham Rahal).

Ohio

Honda Motor Co., Ltd. (本田技研工業株式会社, Honda Giken Kōgyō KK, IPA: [hoɴda]; /ˈhɒndə/) is a Japanese public multinational corporation primarily known as a manufacturer of automobiles, motorcycles and power equipment.
Honda has been the world's largest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959, as well as the world's largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines measured by volume, producing more than 14 million internal combustion engines each year. Honda became the second-largest Japanese automobile manufacturer in 2001. Honda was the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to release a dedicated luxury brand, Acura, in 1986. Since 1986, Honda has been involved with artificial intelligence/robotics research and released their ASIMO robot in 2000. They have also ventured into aerospace with the establishment of GE Honda Aero Engines in 2004 and the Honda HA-420 HondaJet, which began production in 2012. Honda has three joint-ventures in China (Honda China, Dongfeng Honda, and Guangqi Honda).

Ohio native son Graham Rahal led the Honda attack Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, finishing third at the Honda Indy 200 to continue an impressive streak of results in the second half of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season. A large crowd, including nearly 10,000 Honda associates from multiple central Ohio Honda facilities, filled the 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio road circuit on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Starting fourth, Rahal battled fellow Honda driver and Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato in the early part of the 90-lap contest. Moving ahead of Sato after the first round of scheduled pit stops, Rahal then spent the remainder of the day fighting with Will Power for second, as eventual race winner Josef Newgarden pulled out a comfortable lead at the front of the field. After a late-race caution flag, Rahal continued to hound Power during the final 20 laps, but was unable to find a way past, finishing third. For Rahal, it was his fourth consecutive top-five at Mid-Ohio and his second podium finish in the last three years, including his victory here in 2015. It also extends Rahal’s run of impressive runs in the second half of 2017, including five top-five finishes in the last seven races. For his part, Sato had his best result since finishing fourth in the second Detroit race, despite falling to seventh at mid-race. A strong closing stint saw Sato get around both Helio Castroneves and Alexander Rossi to take fifth at the checkers. Rossi also moved ahead of Castroneves in the final 20 laps for a sixth-place finish. Coming into Mid-Ohio with a narrow, three-point lead in the championship, Scott Dixon endured a tough afternoon. A suspected rear suspension issue resulted in a poor handling Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, and Dixon was forced to hold on for a ninth-place finish at a track where he has won five times in 11 previous races. As a result, Dixon falls to third in the title battle, but only eight points behind new leader Newgarden with four races remaining. -

Ohio native son Graham Rahal led the Honda attack Sunday at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, finishing third at the Honda Indy 200 to continue an impressive streak of results in the second half of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season. A large crowd, including nearly 10,000 Honda associates from multiple central Ohio Honda facilities, filled the 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio road circuit on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Starting fourth, Rahal battled fellow Honda driver and Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato in the early part of the 90-lap contest. A large crowd, including nearly 10,000 Honda associates from multiple central Ohio Honda facilities, filled the 2.258-mile Mid-Ohio road circuit on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Starting fourth, Rahal battled fellow Honda driver and Indianapolis 500 champion Takuma Sato in the early part of the 90-lap contest. Moving ahead of Sato after the first round of scheduled pit stops, Rahal then spent the remainder of the day fighting with Will Power for second, as eventual race winner Josef Newgarden pulled out a comfortable lead at the front of the field.
After a late-race caution flag, Rahal continued to hound Power during the final 20 laps, but was unable to find a way past, finishing third. For Rahal, it was his fourth consecutive top-five at Mid-Ohio and his second podium finish in the last three years, including his victory here in 2015. It also extends Rahal’s run of impressive runs in the second half of 2017, including five top-five finishes in the last seven races.
For his part, Sato had his best result since finishing fourth in the second Detroit race, despite falling to seventh at mid-race. A strong closing stint saw Sato get around both Helio Castroneves and Alexander Rossi to take fifth at the checkers. Rossi also moved ahead of Castroneves in the final 20 laps for a sixth-place finish.
Coming into Mid-Ohio with a narrow, three-point lead in the championship, Scott Dixon endured a tough afternoon. A suspected rear suspension issue resulted in a poor handling Chip Ganassi Racing Honda, and Dixon was forced to hold on for a ninth-place finish at a track where he has won five times in 11 previous races. As a result, Dixon falls to third in the title battle, but only eight points behind new leader Newgarden with four races remaining.
