The online MarketPlace for Trading Things that Go! Co-Founder, Steven Teh graduated from NTU - Business Studies in 1999. When he was a 2nd year student in NTU, he gave private tuition to earn some pocket money. He later decided to give tuition class to earn more pocket money. Soon, his entrepreneur instinct got triggered, he set up his own Tuition Centre and hire tutors to teach for him instead and earn much more money faster. It worked out pretty well. Co-Founder, Siew Cheng graduated from NUS - Bachelor of Computer Engineering in 2004. Her interest was in software programming and she joined 2 different start up companies prior to Station Go. She picked up a lot of 1st hand knowledge and experiences working in Startups. Steven's and Siew Cheng's 1st encounter was in 2012. Steven needed some technical advise and chanced upon Siew Cheng’s services. Soon after, Steven already had the idea for Station Go. The 1 stop portal for trading Boats, Cars, Motorcycles, Bicycles, Commercial Vehicles, Heavy Equipments, including their Parts & Accessories, Rental & Services! There is plan to expand to overseas such as Australia, Malaysia and including more categories, such as Airplanes. Station Go started because the brain-child, Steven was facing much obstacles and difficulties when he was looking for pre-owned cars online. Hence, he decided that he should setup his own portal to make trading of both brand new and pre-owned vehicles more convenient. And hence, the birth of Station Go. Siew Cheng was supportive of Steven’s idea and took on the challenge to assist and support Steven in the development of Station Go. Station Go is a platform where dealers and even private sellers can put up advertisements to sell or rent your brand new and pre-owned vehicles , parts & accessories. We have over 300 dealers and about 19,000 registered users on Station Go. Each of Station Go dealers have a dedicated Station Go Relationship Manager assigned to provide assistance. We gather feedbacks from our dealers and does continuous improvements to Station Go. We believe that it’s an important relationship between dealers and Station Go. We try our best to reach out to the right audiences to help our dealers sell their items. What is 1 advise that Steven would like to give anyone who is looking to be an Entrepreneur too? Steven advises that everyone can be an Entrepreneur as long as you have the determination, hard work and aspiration. In terms of financial hurdle, Steven would advice to save up your own capital, instead of bank loan. To save up his capital fast, Steven was once a property agent, quite a successful one himself. What is 1 advise that Siew Cheng would like to give anyone who is looking to be an Entrepreneur? Siew Cheng advises to do thorough research of the market and competitors in whichever field you are venturing in. Know who are your top competitors, study what they did right; know who are your most under performing competitors too, understand what they did wrong and don’t commit the same mistakes. Find out how the different competitors reach out to your audiences, (e.g. Website, Mobile Apps, Newspaper, Advertising) and learn from them. Who will be a good partner or investor? A good partner would be anyone who shares the same positive vision. Not afraid of failure and ever willing to try out different and new things. A good investor, besides financial aids, would be someone who is interested in similar industry as Station Go or who had invested in similar industry as Station Go. Someone who can give valuable advises and tips to accelerate Station Go's progress and maximise the use of every cent of investment.
