San Sebastián
San Sebastián (Spanish: [san seβasˈtjan]; French: Saint-Sébastien) or Donostia (Basque: [doˈnos̺tia]) is a coastal city and municipality located in the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. It lies on the coast of the Bay of Biscay, 20 km (12 miles) from the French border. Capital city of Gipuzkoa, the municipality's population is 186,409 (2012), with its metropolitan area reaching 436,500 (2010). Locals call themselves donostiarra (singular), both in Spanish and Basque.
The main economic activities are commerce and tourism, and it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Spain. Despite the city’s small size, events such as the San Sebastián International Film Festival have given it an international dimension. San Sebastián, along with Wrocław, Poland, will be the European Capital of Culture in 2016.
Etymology
In spite of appearances, both the Basque form Donostia and the Spanish form San Sebastián have the same meaning of Saint Sebastian. The dona/dono/doni element in Basque place-names signifies "saint" and is derived from Latin domine; the second part of Dono(stia) contains a shortened form of the saint's name.

San Sebastián de La Gomera
San Sebastián de la Gomera is a town (the main port and capital) and a municipality on La Gomera in the Canary Islands, Spain. The population is 8,699 (2013) and the area is 113.59 km².
The port serves ferry routes to the islands of Tenerife, La Palma and El Hierro. Streets include Calle Real and F. Olsen. A bus station named Estación de Guaguas is used for bus lines throughout the island; it is located on Avenida Quinta Centenario.
Historical population
History
The area was inhabited by the Guanches before the arrival of the Spanish. Hernán Peraza arrived in 1440. Christopher Columbus stopped at the harbour on 6 September 1492 before heading to India but arrived in America instead. The building in which Columbus stayed whilst on the island is now a museum.

Australian rules football in Europe
Australian rules football is played in Europe at an amateur level in a large number of countries. The oldest and largest leagues are those in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Denmark, each nation having a number of clubs, organised junior programs and women's football. The British AFL has now dramatically expanded into the Welsh, Scottish and English leagues. The Danish AFL has been responsible for the expansion of Australian Football into Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Norway. The governing body for Australian Football in Europe was founded in Frankfurt in January 2010; the body was initially called the European Australian Football Association, but changed its name to AFL Europe at a general assembly meeting in Milan in October of the same year. It currently has 19 member nations. AFL Europe, with backing of the AFL in Australia has overseen a large improvement in the organisation of Australian football in Europe.
The sport has grown from a few clubs and leagues started mainly by expatriate Australians and returning nationals in the late 1980s and early 1990s, to now having established leagues in over 15 nations, with the majority of players being non-Australian.

Again, San Sebastian is a capital of delicious food and they take it seriously. As soon as you start eating, you’ll notice the quality, care, and pride that people take in their Basque food. It’s ingredient driven, and you’ll get some of the world’s best quality.
Antonio Bar (https://g.page/antoniobarss?share) - First stop today is Antonio Bar, champion of the Spanish tortilla - a mix of potatoes, onions, and eggs, caramelized until maximum flavor potential is reached. I tried many tortillas in Spain, this was the king.
Gorriti Taberna (https://goo.gl/maps/FfQcmoeh5XQMg9Dj6) - Next we headed to Gorriti Taberna near the market for some small breakfast bites, all of which were delicious.

Im Trip Report fahren wir vom Valle Gran Rey mit dem Mietwagen zur Inselhauptstadt San Sebastian de la Gomera. Die Fahrt dauert über eine Stunde durch die Berge und die Natur La Gomeras. San Sebastian ist klein, aber schön, es gibt einen Hafen und Strand mit schwarzem Sand. Von hier aus haben wir gute Sicht in Richtung Teneriffa. Die Fähre in Richtung der anderen Kanaren Inseln starten von hier aus. In San Sebastian gibt es ebenfalls einige Hotel Anlagen und Apartments und manche Touristen verbringen den Gomeraurlaub komplett hier.

Road Trip To San Sebastian On La Gomera And Walk Through The City
This was our very last day on La Gomera. In the morning after packing our things, we hopped into the car to take a very last car ride on the island from Agulo to San Sebastian. The first half of the video covers the ride but the second half takes you on a walk through San Sebastian. You get to see some squares, cute streets, a church, the Christoper Columbus Statue and his house, where he stayed before he sailed out to explore the new world. We got so spoiled with summer like temperatures and loved every single minute we spent in San Sebastian. P.S. Im Trip Report fahren wir vom Valle Gran Rey mit dem Mietwagen zur Inselhauptstadt San Sebastian de la Gomera. Die Fahrt dauert über eine Stunde durch die Berge und die Natur La Gomeras. San Sebastian ist klein, aber schön, es gibt einen Hafen und Strand mit schwarzem Sand. Von hier aus haben wir gute Sicht in Richtung Teneriffa. Die Fähre in Richtung der anderen Kanaren Inseln starten von hier aus. In San Sebastian gibt es ebenfalls einige Hotel Anlagen und Apartments und manche Touristen verbringen den Gomeraurlaub komplett hier.

This was our very last day on La Gomera. In the morning after packing our things, we hopped into the car to take a very last car ride on the island from Agulo to San Sebastian.
The first half of the video covers the ride but the second half takes you on a walk through San Sebastian. You get to see some squares, cute streets, a church, the Christoper Columbus Statue and his house, where he stayed before he sailed out to explore the new world.
We got so spoiled with summer like temperatures and loved every single minute we spent in San Sebastian.
P.S. The real highlight was of course the whale bubble machine :)

La Gomera, the second-smallest of the main islands in Spain’s Canary Island chain, is marked by craggy volcanic mountains crisscrossed with hiking trails. In higher altitudes, dense forests of ferns and moss-covered trees grow in the mists of Garajonay National Park. Toward the coast, the Valle Gran Rey canyon leads past the whitewashed cliffside village of La Calera and ends at black-sand Atlantic beaches.

Antonio Bar (https://g.page/antoniobarss?share) - First stop today is Antonio Bar, champion of the Spanish tortilla - a mix of potatoes, onions, and eggs, caramelized until maximum flavor potential is reached. I tried many tortillas in Spain, this was the king.

San Sebastián
San Sebastián (Spanish: [san seβasˈtjan]; French: Saint-Sébastien) or Donostia (Basque: [doˈnos̺tia]) is a coastal city and municipality located in the Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. It lies on the coast of the Bay of Biscay, 20 km (12 miles) from the French border. Capital city of Gipuzkoa, the municipality's population is 186,409 (2012), with its metropolitan area reaching 436,500 (2010). Locals call themselves donostiarra (singular), both in Spanish and Basque.
The main economic activities are commerce and tourism, and it is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Spain. Despite the city’s small size, events such as the San Sebastián International Film Festival have given it an international dimension. San Sebastián, along with Wrocław, Poland, will be the European Capital of Culture in 2016.
Etymology
In spite of appearances, both the Basque form Donostia and the Spanish form San Sebastián have the same meaning of Saint Sebastian. The dona/dono/doni element in Basque place-names signifies "saint" and is derived from Latin domine; the second part of Dono(stia) contains a shortened form of the saint's name.

Im Trip Report fahren wir vom Valle Gran Rey mit dem Mietwagen zur Inselhauptstadt San Sebastian de la Gomera. Die Fahrt dauert über eine Stunde durch die Berge und die Natur La Gomeras. San Sebastian ist klein, aber schön, es gibt einen Hafen und Strand mit schwarzem Sand. Von hier aus haben wir gute Sicht in Richtung Teneriffa. Die Fähre in Richtung der anderen Kanaren Inseln starten von hier aus. In San Sebastian gibt es ebenfalls einige Hotel Anlagen und Apartments und manche Touristen verbringen den Gomeraurlaub komplett hier.

This was our very last day on La Gomera. In the morning after packing our things, we hopped into the car to take a very last car ride on the island from Agulo to San Sebastian.
The first half of the video covers the ride but the second half takes you on a walk through San Sebastian. You get to see some squares, cute streets, a church, the Christoper Columbus Statue and his house, where he stayed before he sailed out to explore the new world.
We got so spoiled with summer like temperatures and loved every single minute we spent in San Sebastian.
P.S. The real highlight was of course the whale bubble machine :)

We took the Fred Olson Ferry from Tenerife to La Gomera for a coach trip which was absolutely amazing. We stopped for lunch and watched the locals whistling.
La Gomera, the second-smallest of the main islands in Spain’s Canary Island chain, is marked by craggy volcanic mountains crisscrossed with hiking trails. In higher altitudes, dense forests of ferns and moss-covered trees grow in the mists of Garajonay National Park. Toward the coast, the Valle Gran Rey canyon leads past the whitewashed cliffside village of La Calera and ends at black-sand Atlantic beaches.
