At Path, we are dedicated to delivering the best social sharing experience to connect you with your friends and family. With our most recent update, we focused on features to bridge the gap between you and your loved ones–ultimately, a more seamless experience on Path.

Are you an Android user? Get excited for a new user experience! Now you can simply swipe left or right to explore Path. Also, we’ve added streaming video, so you can view your friends’ video moments without having to download them. On wi-fi? Path will even auto-play the video! (This will be coming soon for iOS users.)

In addition to video streaming, iOS users can look forward to an in-app browser, so that you can view a link without leaving Path. Also, we’ve added the 3D touch feature for iPhone 6S users.

And we’re not stopping there. We’re delighted to add mentioning to Path, so now you can bring your friends into the conversation by tagging them in the comments! Just type @ and Path will recommend friends based on who’s in the moment.

Finally, what’s more personal than a birthday? To help you celebrate the birthdays of your closest friends, we’ve added birthday notifications. Send a message or share a moment to wish ‘em a happy birthday!

Today, Path experienced a service outage for roughly 21 hours. This outage came from an unexpected issue with our database servers, and many of you were unable to access your Path. Despite our around-the-clock effort, the recovery process took longer than we had expected. We deeply apologize for this. 

The issue is fully resolved and you can resume sharing your precious moments on Path. In case you have any issues, such as difficulty logging in, please contact service@path.com. We will assist you in every possible way we can.

We’re excited to announce that our Indonesian users can now upgrade to Path Premium through two new e-payment solutions! Many of you living in Indonesia told us that you’d like to purchase Path Premium in alternative ways.

We listened, and thanks to our partnership with Indonesia’s leading e-payment solutions provider - DOKU, we’ve been able to expand the payment options offered to our Indonesian users.

If you’re living in Indonesia you can now get unlimited access to Path Premium using ATM bank transfer or Alfa Group mini mart network, which includes Alfamart, Alfamidi, Alfaexpress, Dan+Dan, and Lawson stores.

Over the years, we’ve continued to add new moments to share with your close friends and family on Path: photos, thoughts, locations, videos, even sleep. Many of you have reached out and asked us to add TV shows to the mix. And it makes sense. As more high quality shows fill the airwaves every season, it’s becoming more and more popular to ask your friends “what are you watching?” or “did you see that show last night?!?” We’re even starting to watch entire seasons in weekend binges (break out the popcorn!). TV is everywhere.

Today we’re delighted to announce that you can now share TV Moments on Path and Path Talk. Simply open the chooser, tap on the note icon, and you’ll see “TV” in a tab between “Music” and “Movies”. So whether you’re watching reality shows, cheesy sitcoms, or intense crime dramas, now you can share the moment with close friends and family. All from the comfort of your couch.

Here’s an idea to get started: find an old favorite and share it today. (Here at Path, we’re kicking back with a little “Full House” and “Saved by the Bell.”)

Most friendships have unique moments that define them. There is always a close friend you can trust. Buddies for beer drinking. And a childhood friend to reminisce with. Each relationship is unique, and each moment with friends is worth cherishing.

I started using Path in March 2012. At first, it seemed like just another social network to me. A place where I got to post stuffs I like, but with a much better user interface. I never thought that Path would become the best personal social network that I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. 

Moments on my Path are never without my closest friends. My two best friends and I met around 2 years ago, but we’ve only been close for the past 6 months. Over the months, we became each other’s go-to buddies for almost everything. One of the things we love to do together is Saturday morning cycling. We usually start around 6 am and ride for 2 hours or so. We wrap it up with a quick post-ride meal at the nearest convenience store (Salmon onigiri is our favorite!). Even after a rough week on campus, we ‘ll still be pedaling together throughout the city.

I keep logs of every ride we did together on Path. Every Kilometer, every selfie. It is beautiful to see how our friendship unfolds through series of moments in one simple app.

To me, Path is not just for sharing. It is a memento that I hope will always keep our friendship alive.
