The Heritage Award is a ceremonial plaque installed in a public place to commemorate a link between a famous musician or music band and the location they performed their first live gig. The UK-wide plaque is awarded and funded by PRS for Music.
The Heritage Award was created in 2009 by PRS for Music in order to celebrate the first performances of the UK's leading bands. The inaugural award is seen as a unique scheme to celebrate UK music venues which have played a pivotal role in launching the careers of some of the country's most iconic music acts. The first Heritage Award was presented to the UK Britpop band Blur on 30 November 2009 by PRS for Music chairman Ellis Rich.
Heritage may refer to:
PRS for Music Limited (formerly The MCPS-PRS Alliance Limited) is a UK copyright collection society and performance rights organisation undertaking collective rights management for musical works. PRS for Music was formed in 1997 as the MCPS-PRS Alliance, bringing together two collection societies: the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society (MCPS) and the Performing Right Society (PRS). The "PRS for Music" brand was adopted in 2009.
The Performing Right Society was founded in 1914 for collecting fees for live performance from sheet music. Initially it was distinct from the activity of the Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society, originally founded in 1911, and renamed in 1924, and Phonographic Performance Limited, founded in 1934 by Decca and EMI, which collected fees for playing gramophone recordings.
The Mechanical-Copyright Protection Society began as MECOLICO, the Mechanical Copyright Licenses Co. in 1911 in anticipation of the Copyright Act of 1911, and merged with the Copyright Protection Society in 1924.
The term Hispanic (Spanish: hispano, hispánico Galician: hispánico, Basque: hispaniar, Catalan: hispàhispàno) broadly refers to the peoples, nations, and cultures that have a historical link to Spain. It commonly applies to countries once colonized by Spain, particularly the countries of Latin America. It could be argued that the term should apply to all Spanish-speaking cultures or countries, as the historical roots of the word specifically pertain to the Iberian region. It is difficult to label a nation or culture with one term, such as Hispanic, as the ethnicities, customs, traditions, and art forms (music, literature, dress, architecture, cuisine, and others) vary greatly by country and region. The Spanish language and Spanish culture are the main traditions.
Hispanic originally referred to the people of ancient Roman Hispania, which roughly comprised the Iberian Peninsula including the contemporary states of Spain, Portugal, Andorra and the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar.
The White House is the official residence and principal workplace of the President of the United States, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C. It has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800.
The house was designed by Irish-born James Hoban and built between 1792 and 1800 of white-painted Aquia Creek sandstone in the Neoclassical style. When Thomas Jefferson moved into the house in 1801, he (with architect Benjamin Henry Latrobe) expanded the building outward, creating two colonnades that were meant to conceal stables and storage. However, in 1814, during the War of 1812, the mansion was set ablaze by the British Army in the Burning of Washington, destroying the interior and charring much of the exterior. Reconstruction began almost immediately, and President James Monroe moved into the partially reconstructed Executive Residence in October 1817. Construction continued with the addition of the South Portico in 1824 and the North in 1829.

Direct from my Prince VHS archive. I'm digitizing many of my Prince VHS recordings, sorry for the video quality, I didn't record this, it was a VHS video trade back in the nineties from another fan. However, this shows the FULL complete footage which contains an introduction by Vanessa Williams, amazing video montage tribute along with a wonderful tribute performance by Stephanie Mills, Patty LaBelle and Rosie Gaines. The induction or award speech given by Troy Beyer is probably one of the very best summarizations of Prince's career. I've been a Prince superfan for many years, since 1984, in-joy. .::Modernaire
