“Conservation, not Incarceration”-new painting by Marius

image
“I received information about the recent adoption of several elephants from sanctuaries in Africa which were experiencing financial trouble and difficulty keeping their elephants from poachers. Instead of helping the groups keep the elephants safe where they are used to living [and, where there would be a chance they could be released someday] opportunistic zoos and fake sanctuaries in the U.S. took advantage of the situation to get their hands on the animals.

The great shame of this is that these highly intelligent, social and sensitive animals are now being “trained” with bullhooks by subsidiaries of Ringling Brothers circuses, and being used for unethical breeding programs, sleeping on concrete floors, separated from their family groups and natural climate and habitat. This is not conservation, but truly incarceration for profit.” – Marius Mason

The Apotheosis of Tilikum

The Apotheosis of Tilikum
“Sea World announced that it will end its Orca breeding program which is a big deal and a progressive step. But, the real reason they’re ending it is not because they are good guys and had a change of heart, but because Tilikum is sick and dying. Tilikum, the subject of the film ‘Blackfish,’ has been raging and going crazy for years in captivity, but he is also sire to most of Sea World’s Orcas in their breeding program. No Tilikum, no breeding program. They are trying to spin it as a positive. Those guys are so low.”

“The Toxicity Test” / or Welcome to Hell, Exhibit ‘A’

Welcome to Hell

“Decades of experiments have shown that rats are smart individuals that feel pain and pleasure, care about one another, can read others’ emotions, and will help unfamiliar rats even at a cost to themselves. It’s time to apply what we’ve learned from these animals and stop conducting experiments on them in laboratories.”
