Lyric written in the 12th century by the Persian poet Sa’di of Shiraz, the greatest didactic poet of Persia, also author of the famous Gulistan (Rose Garden) and Bustan (Orchard). Translated into English by the Cambridge scholar and Professor of Persian and Arabic, Arthur John Arberry. Set tune, sung, recorded and released by P.S.Remesh Chandran in 2015. Included as Song No. 05 in the musical album Persian Songs In English, produced by Bloom Books Trivandrum and released through Bloom Books Channel. Primarily meant for academic and entertainment purposes. Released into Public Domain.
