Hexthorpe is a small village located on the edge of the town of Doncaster. Hexthorpe lies in the Metropolitan Borough of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the area's shape resembles a rhombus, with borders with Balby and Doncaster town centre, separated by railway lines and the river separating the area from the villages of Sprotborough, Newton and Cusworth. A grade II listed building, the Hexthorpe House, was a well known pub in the area. The pub front was listed for historic reasons. Following a fire, the pub remained derelict for a few months and the council demolished the remains. The old pub sign was saved and has now been erected in Hexthorpe Flatts Park.
During until the late 1960s and early 1970s, the area was of a decent standard, housing many of its own shops. The area today is a shadow of its former self, with much of Hexthorpe towards the town centre in a state of decline. There is a large ethnic minority population in the area, with residents from China, Kosovo, India and Pakistan, Turkey and Jamaica living in the area. More recently, large numbers of Romani have settled in Hexthorpe. The area towards the park is deemed to be more affluent. The houses surrounding the park and the river are the more sought after locations.
Britain First held a protest march through the Yorkshire town of Hexthorpe in support of the local English community, who have threatened to riot unless the police and council do something about the flood of Roma gypsy immigrants who are engaging in anti-social behaviour on a huge scale. Hexthorpe shot to fame recently when it was reported in the media that the small town on the outskirts of Doncaster had been completely inundated by Roma immigrants from Eastern Europe. The influx was so severe, that the local residents threatened to riot if action wasn’t taken to control the anti-social behaviour of the young Roma immigrants. Activists from Yorkshire, the East and West Midlands joined party leader Paul Golding and began a mass leafleting drive in the small area. After only 10 minutes leafleting, our activists faced abuse and confrontation from an assortment of Roma and Muslims.

Officials and industry insiders said Libya has made progress containing a fire at its largest oil port that has destroyed four days of the country's oil production but the damage to storage tanks will hamper efforts to resume exports. The fire at Es Sider, the country's main oil export terminal, has been blazing for a week and is a visible indication of the destructive violence that threatens to tear the country apart almost four years after the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi. The North African country is in the middle of a power struggle between two opposing governments -- the internationally recognized authorities in the east and rivals who have seized power in the capital -- that are vying for control of Africa's biggest oil reserves. Both sides command forces made up of former rebel troo...
