Mark "The Loveman" Pender (born August 21, 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri) is a trumpet player and vocalist who has played with Southside Johnny, Little Steven and Bruce Springsteen. Since 1993 he has performed on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien as a member of The Max Weinberg 7 and The Tonight Show Band. He is currently performing on Conan as a member of the Basic Cable Band. He is also a member of The Miami Horns, leads his own band, The Mark Pender Band, and plays regularly with La Bamba & The Hubcaps.
As a member of The Miami Horns he has toured and/or recorded with, among others Diana Ross, Gary U.S. Bonds, Joe Cocker, Darlene Love, Robert Cray and Bon Jovi. As an individual he has sessioned with David Bowie, They Might Be Giants, Buster Poindexter and Blackmore's Night.
Mark Pender graduated in 1975 from Grandview Senior High School in Grandview, Missouri. In the mid 1970s, while still in Kansas City, Pender played with Mass Transit and saxophonist Stephen Harvey. This band played a fusion of R&B, jazz and disco. He also played with the Inner City Orchestra from 1977 until 1979. This gave him the opportunity to play with the likes of Jay McShann, Joe Turner, Ella Fitzgerald and Gladys Knight & the Pips. He would also occasionally front the band on trumpet and vocals. Pender and Harvey also played regularly at the Mutual Musicians Foundation. It was there they first met the jazz organist Charles Earland. In 1979, Pender and Harvey accepted Earlands offer to join his touring band. The tour finished in Newark, New Jersey. Pender opted to stay while Harvey returned to Kansas City where he was murdered on November 5, 1980.
Late Night is shorthand for several different things:
Mark may refer to:
Conan Christopher O'Brien (born April 18, 1963) is an American television host, comedian, writer, producer, musician, and voice actor. He is best known for hosting several late-night talk shows; since 2010 he has hosted Conan on the cable channel TBS. O'Brien was born in Brookline, Massachusetts, and was raised in an Irish Catholic family. He served as president of The Harvard Lampoon while attending Harvard University, and was a writer for the sketch comedy series Not Necessarily the News.
After writing for several comedy shows in Los Angeles, he joined the writing staff of Saturday Night Live. O'Brien was a writer and producer for The Simpsons for two seasons until he was commissioned by NBC to take over David Letterman's position as host of Late Night in 1993. A virtual unknown to the public, O'Brien's initial time on Late Night tenure received unfavorable reviews and remained on a multiweek renewal cycle during its early years. The show generally improved over time and was highly regarded by the time of his departure in 2009. Afterwards, O'Brien relocated from New York to Los Angeles to host his own incarnation of The Tonight Show for seven months until network politics prompted a host change in 2010.

'Guitar Legends' was a concert held over five nights, from 15th to 19th October 1991 in Seville, Spain, to publicise the Expo '92 event the following year. This video was transfered from my old VHS (recorded from British TV in 1991). The concert was a real inspiration to me when I was younger - the first time I'd seen and heard many of these great bluesmen. I'm dedicating this upload to Albert Collins and Bo Diddley, both legendary and influential blues musicians and larger-than-life entertainers who gave an amazing performance at this concert. They are sadly no longer with us, but never to be forgotten! In this concert, Bo Diddley's tone and percussive/rhythmic playing are totally infectious (52:23), and Albert Collins' playing on Robert Cray's "The Dream" (18:13) is beautifully tasteful...
Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band performing live August 20, 1984 at the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. This show was the last of a ten night stand at the venue. Every night was special, and Bruce went out with a bang. The concert features the fourth tour performance of "Spirit In The Night," and the first known Springsteen performance of "Drift Away." Also is the tour premiere for "Two Hearts," a rare performance, one of only five in 1984. "Backstreets" includes an extended intro but a short "Sad Eyes" interlude. "Prove It All Night" is in a rather unusual slot in the second set, I think this was the only time on the tour that this happened. This show is considered one of the best of the 1984 - 1985 tour. The fantastic version of "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out" from thi...
