A landline telephone (also known as land line, land-line, main line, home phone, landline, fixed-line, and wireline) refers to a phone that uses a metal wire or fibre optic telephone line for transmission as distinguished from a mobile cellular line, which uses radio waves for transmission.
In 2003, the CIA reported approximately 1.263 billion main telephone lines worldwide. China had more than any other country at 350 million and the United States was second with 268 million. The United Kingdom has 23.7 million residential fixed homephones. The 2013 statistics show that the total number of fixed-telephone subscribers in the world was about 1.16 billion. The number of landline subscribers continuously decreases due to upgrades in digital technology and the conveniences that come with switching to wireless (cellular) or Internet-based alternatives.
A fixed phone line (a line that is not a mobile phone line) can be hard-wired or cordless.
Fixed wireless refers to the operation of wireless devices or systems in fixed locations such as homes. Fixed wireless devices usually derive their electrical power from the utility mains electricity, unlike mobile wireless or portable wireless, which tend to be battery-powered. Although mobile and portable systems can be used in fixed locations, efficiency and bandwidth are compromised compared with fixed systems. Mobile or portable, battery-powered wireless systems can be used as emergency backups for fixed systems in case of a power blackout or natural disaster.

Pontic Greek (ποντιακά) is a Greek language originally spoken in the Pontus area on the southern shores of the Black Sea, northeastern Anatolia, the Eastern Turkish/Caucasus province of Kars, southern Georgia and today mainly in northern Greece. The linguistic lineage of Pontic Greek stems from Ionic Greek via Koine and Byzantine Greek and contains influences from Georgian, Russian, Turkish and to a lesser extent, Persian (via Ottoman Turkish) and various Caucasian languages. Its speakers are referred to as Pontic Greeks or Pontian Greeks.
Closely related Greek dialects are spoken in Mariupolis (and formerly in Crimea), Ukraine (see Greeks in Ukraine and Mariupolitan Greek), in Georgia and in the former Russian Caucasus province of Kars Oblast: linguistic practice varies on whether they should be classified as "Pontic". The speakers of these dialects, depending on where they live, are referred to either as eastern Pontic Greeks or as Caucasus Greeks.
Pontic is also closely related to Cappadocian Greek.
The National Peasants' Party (Partidul Național Țărănesc or PNȚ) was a Romanian political party, formed in 1926 through the fusion of the Romanian National Party (Partidul Național Român) from Transylvania and the Peasants' Party (Partidul Țărănesc) from the prewar kingdom. It was in power for most of the time between 1928 and 1933 with longtime leader Iuliu Maniu as prime minister. A moderately conservative party, with some left-wing corporatist views (supporting, for instance, voluntary cooperative farming), it remained staunchly pro-monarchy.
A former member, Corneliu Coposu, claimed that 270,000 PNȚ members were sent to prisons and work camps, where three quarters of them perished, beginning in 1947 when the party was banned by the Communist government following the Tămădău Affair. Both party president Iuliu Maniu and deputy leader Ion Mihalache died in prison during the Communist regime.
Former PNȚ members Corneliu Coposu and Ion Rațiu founded a new party in December 1989 under the name Christian-Democratic National Peasants' Party (Partidul Național Țărănesc Creștin și Democrat, PNȚCD or PNȚcd). It was the first officially registered political party after the fall of Communism.

Hi, this video shows you how to use your mobile cell phone to make & receive landline telephone calls in the same house as the landline OR in any part of the world with a Wi-Fi or mobile network. The video shows you the set up of the Swissvoice Voice Bridge and the main features. Pontus. The Northeastern coasts of Asia Minor have been under Greek influence since ancient times. However, 3000 years of history stopped violently from 1914 until 1923 due to the political movement of the "Young Turks" whose motto was "Turkey only for Turks". The result was the genocide of the entire Christian population of Anatolia (Greeks, Armenians and Assyrians). People forgot the meaning of "being human". They turned to beasts. Every male Pontic Greek, from 15 to 60 years old, was sent to labor battalions (amele taburları), also known ...

During the Greek genocide, the Greeks of Pontus took arms and went to the mountains where they fought the Turkish army and the Chetes(Turkish irregulars) trying to save as much Greeks as they could. After the Greek defeat in August of 1922 these guerrillas were the only Greeks who were fighting the Turkish. Some guerrillas stayed and kept fighting even after the "Population Exchange of 1923". The Pyrrhichios dance ("Pyrrhic dance"; Ancient Greek: πυρρίχιος or πυρρίχη, but often misspelled as πυρρίχειος or πυρήχειος) was the best known war dance of the Greeks. It was probably of Doric origin and practiced at first solely as a training for war. Plato (leges, p. 815) describes it as imitating by quick movements the ways in which blows and darts are to be avoided and also the modes in which an enemy is to be attacked. It was dance to the sound of the aulos; it's time was quick and light, as is also shewn by the metric foot called pyrrhic. It was described by Xenophon in his work the Anabasis. In that work he writes that at a festival was held in Trapezus (Pontus) to celebrate the arrival of his troops in the city. The following is the part in which the pyrrhic dance is mentioned: ...

The Changing of the Guards ceremony was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Athens, with the Evzones of the Presidential Guard dressed in the traditional costume of the Pontic Greeks, during the official event for the Pontian Greek Genocide Memory Day. Annually on May 19 in Greece and around the world, memorial services are held to honor memory of the Pontian Greek Genocide victims. In 1994 the Hellenic Parliament recognized and condemned the genocide of more than 600 thousand Pontian Greeks. Records kept mainly by priests show a minimum 350,000 Pontian Greeks exterminated by Turkish troops and Kurdish militias during 1915-1923. Other sources including foreign missionaries mention 500,000 deaths, most through deportation and forced marches into the Anatolian desert. Greek cities (...
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a televised interview on NTV Channel, on June 10, 2011, on a related question about his origins, spoke in an insulting and derogatory manner about the Greeks, saying the phrase that is commonly said when referring the word devil, ie "the one out here," when he spoke the word Rum (Greek). Turkish researchers have discovered that Erdogan is descended from the village of Potamia of Rizounda in the Pontus. Researcher Cezmi Yurtsever says that with the Islamization of the population, the demographic character of the Pontus changed, changing the Greek names of villages and cities to Turkish.
