Okay, by popular demand, I finally decided to sit down, make this movie, and post it here for all my viewers. I know it's been a VERY long time, but I am still getting comments messages about this... so here it is, in all it's glory.
And here's to hoping Youtube decides to be nice and not delete my stuff for once. I think I'm on a watch list. they just delete everything I post immediately. I kind of stopped making awesome videos because of that. But we'll try this...

Rigoletto is an opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi. The Italian libretto was written by Francesco Maria Piave based on the play Le roi s'amuse by Victor Hugo. It was first performed at La Fenice in Venice on 11 March 1851. Despite serious initial problems with the Austrian censors who had control over northern Italian theatres at the time, the opera had a triumphant premiere and is considered by many to be the first of the operatic masterpieces of Verdi's middle-to-late career. Its tragic story revolves around the licentious Duke of Mantua, his hunch-backed court jester Rigoletto, and Rigoletto's beautiful daughter Gilda. The opera's original title, La maledizione (The Curse), refers to the curse placed on both the Duke and Rigoletto by a courtier whose daughter had been seduced by the Duke with Rigoletto's encouragement. The curse comes to fruition when Gilda likewise falls in love with the Duke and eventually sacrifices her life to save him from the assassins hired by her father.

Giuseppe Fortunino Francesco Verdi (Italian pronunciation: [dʒuˈzɛppe ˈverdi]; 10 October 1813 – 27 January 1901) was an Italian Romantic composer, mainly of opera. He was one of the most influential composers of the 19th century. His works are frequently performed in opera houses throughout the world and, transcending the boundaries of the genre, some of his themes have long since taken root in popular culture – such as "La donna è mobile" from Rigoletto, "Va, pensiero" (The Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves) from Nabucco, "Libiamo ne' lieti calici" (The Drinking Song) from La traviata and the "Grand March" from Aida.
Verdi’s masterworks dominate the standard opera repertoire a century and a half after their composition.
Verdi was born the son of Carlo Giuseppe Verdi and Luigia Uttini in Le Roncole, a village near Busseto, then in the Département Taro which was a part of the First French Empire after the annexation of the Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. The baptismal register, on 11 October lists him as being "born yesterday", but since days were often considered to begin at sunset, this could have meant either 9 or 10 October. The next day, he was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church in Latin as Joseph Fortuninus Franciscus. The day after that (Tuesday), Verdi's father took his newborn the three miles to Busseto, where the baby was recorded as Joseph Fortunin François; the clerk wrote in French. "So it happened that for the civil and temporal world Verdi was born a Frenchman."

Straordinario bis del baritono Leo Nucci e del soprano Nadine Sierra di "Sì, vendetta, tremenda vendetta" dal "Rigoletto" di Giuseppe Verdi, Un regalo al pubblico in delirio di applausi e di ovazioni al Teatro alla Scala durante la terza recita dell'opera verdiana sotto la direzione d'orchestra di Nicola Luisotti. E' tornato infatti alla Scala, dal 13 gennaio al 6 febbraio 2015, “Rigoletto” di Giuseppe Verdi nel sontuoso allestimento pensato nel 1994 da Gilbert Deflo con le scene di Ezio Frigerio e i costumi di Franca Squarciapino. Con la direzione d’orchestra di Nicola Luisotti, al suo quinto titolo d’opera alla Scala e al quarto verdiano, l’opera vedrà nel cast alcune star della lirica internazionale come il baritono Leo Nucci, nel ruolo del titolo, Vittorio Grigolo e Nadine Sierra al debutto scaligero dopo il successo nel concerto di Capodanno al Teatro La Fenice di Venezia ed indicata dal “Financial Times” come la rivelazione operistica dell’anno dopo il suo debutto nella stessa parte al Metropolitan. Li affiancheranno Carlo Colombara (Sparafucile), Annalisa Stroppa (Maddalena), Giovanni Furlanetto (Monterone), Davide Pelissero (Marullo), Gianluca Breda (Conte di Ceprano); oltre a Chiara Isotton (Giovanna), formatasi all’Accademia di Canto del Teatro, e a giovani che attualmente la frequentano: Martin Piskorski (Matteo Borsa), Federica Lombardi (Contessa), Oliver Pürckhauer (usciere), Kristin Sveínsdóttir (paggio). “Rigoletto” è il secondo titolo verdiano della stagione 2015/2016 aperta dal grande successo della “Giovanna d’Arco” diretta da Riccardo Chailly: seguiranno dal 25 febbraio la nuova produzione de “I due Foscari” con la regia di Alvis Hermanis e la direzione di Michele Mariotti e dal 18 giugno la ripresa di “Simon Boccanegra” nell’allestimento di Federico Tiezzi e la direzione di Myung-Whun Chung, protagonista ancora Leo Nucci. Isn’t it time the divas were free to sing to their own tune? ... In Rigoletto, Gilda sacrifices herself to save the life of the faithless duke. Leonora in Il Trovatore takes poison in order to die in place of her lover. There is Liu in Turandot, who knifes herself for love ... And on and on and on ... ....
