Relaxing sound of water, stream. Great sounds for sleep, but be careful about the volume, some parts are very watery!
Recorded where I live in Northern Thailand, a village called Pai. These are the local hot springs, many guest houses in the area offer rooms with hot spring baths :)
Yes, you do hear a faint whistle and even a clap at some point. This was one of my first 8 hours videos and I thought I'd try to help myself with editing. It did not work :)

Harry (Pierce Brosnan) saves Graham (Jeremy Foley) from being burned alive when he tries to jump into a hot spring that's become acidic.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Old Smokey develops a bad temper in this volcanic disaster spectacle. Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) is a volcano expert whose interest became more than academic after he lost the woman he loved in a volcanic emergency. When he is sent to investigate unusual seismic activity in the quiet Pacific Northwest community of Dante's Peak, he discovers people boiled to death in the local hot spring and plant and animal life dying or displaying unusual illnesses near the city's supposedly dormant volcano. Harry becomes convinced that a major volcanic catastrophe is in the cards. Rachel Wando (Linda Hamilton), the town's mayor, is a single mother who also runs the local cafe, and now that Dante's Peak has been named one of the most desirable small towns in America, tourists have been flocking to the diner and other local businesses. While concerned with the safety of her community, Rachel takes a cynical view of Harry's warnings about the volcano; she has no desire to alarm either the town's residents or the wealthy visitors lining the city's pockets. Nevertheless, Harry tries to convince Rachel of the potential danger, as they begin to develop feelings for each other that are not strictly professional. The summer of 1997 was a big season for killer volcanoes at the movies, as Dante's Peak and Volcano opened within a few months of each other.

Japan's Jigokudani became a sensation when hot springs were constructed for the Hell Valley snow monkey troops. The monkeys get important help from the hot springs in the valley, fed by warm volcanic waters, but their survival is a communal effort in a complex society of rank and privilege where each knows their place. Snow Monkeys airs Wednesday, April 23 at 8 p.m. (ET) on PBS (check local listings).

A hot spring is a spring that is produced by the emergence of geothermally heated groundwater from the Earth's crust. There are geothermal hot springs in many locations all over the crust of the earth.
There is no universally accepted definition of a hot spring. For example, one can find the phrase hot spring defined as
The related term "warm spring" is defined as a spring with water temperature less than a hot spring by many sources, although Pentecost et al. (2003) suggest that the phrase "warm spring" is not useful and should be avoided. The US NOAA Geophysical Data Center defines a "warm spring" as a spring with water between 20 and 50 °C (68 and 122 °F).
The water issuing from a hot spring is heated by geothermal heat, i.e., heat from the Earth's mantle. In general, the temperature of rocks within the earth increases with depth. The rate of temperature increase with depth is known as the geothermal gradient. If water percolates deeply enough into the crust, it will be heated as it comes into contact with hot rocks. The water from hot springs in non-volcanic areas is heated in this manner.

We forgot one and it's tough to keep your hands and the lens clean with the heat of the water, and there always a high chance of rain in the Cascades. *The drive in gets pretty difficult after the sharp right turn. Ying and I woke up at our new hotel, and we decided to go on a quick day trip to Beitou hot springs, a famous area in Taipei, where there’s a natural hot water spring, and home to quite a lot of history, attractions and relaxing hotels. It was very easy to get from central Taipei to Beitou by using public transportation on the train, and it took about 30 minutes to get from central Taipei to Xin Beitou station. From Xin Beitou station, we walked over to the hot springs area. 2:15 Beitou Public Library The first place we arrived on our day trip to Beitou hot springs was the Beitou Public Library. The library is fully in use, but the reason it’s popular to visit and it’s kind of an attraction is because of its unique architecture and its eco friendly design. We didn’t spend more than a few minutes there, but just looked at it from the outside and then took a quick peek inside. 2:45 Beitou Hot Springs Museum One of the main attractions at Beitou is the hot springs museum, originally the original Japanese bathhouse in Beitou. It’s not a huge museum, and the price is free, so it’s a good place to just check out for a few minutes before moving on. 3:29 Beitou Plum Garden I thought it was just going to be a garden with plums, but it was actually the former home of a famous Chinese calligrapher. The house was another quick stop on our day trip, but worth the quick visit. 3:52 Beitou Hot Springs - Public Bath The time finally came to visit the main attraction at Beitou, the hot springs. They have many higher end spas and hotels with private baths, but I went for the public Taiwanese style hot spring bath. They didn’t allow any photography inside, but it was pretty nice and I enjoyed soaking in the natural hot water for a few minutes before moving on with our day. 4:54 Thermal Valley One of the most famous things to see in Beitou is the Thermal Valley, a big pool of water that’s boiling hot and is the source of the hot springs for Beitou. The water is really hot and there’s not swimming so it’s more of just a viewpoint and a place to take photos. While there, we met up with Joe, Raymond, and his Father, by random chance. They were visiting from California and were spending the day at the Beitou hot springs and were en-route to have lunch and go to another hot spring and invited us to go along with them. 6:32 Epic Taiwanese Country Style Farm Lunch Along with Joe, Raymond, and his Father, we drove through the mountains and after about 45 minutes we arrived at a small local style hot spring where we were going to have lunch. They did all the ordering and we were soon faced with what was one of the best Taiwanese food meals I had the entire trip to Taiwan. All the food was home style cooked, and tasted very country style, and everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the deer on the hot plate and the roast quail. On Day 7 in Taiwan, we planned to just take a day trip to Beitou hot springs, but completely unplanned, it turned into one of the best days of our trip and one of the best meals as well. Hot Springs, Snowmobiles & Avalanches - BC, Canada
We embarked on a trip to remote hot springs in British Columbia. The hot springs had melted away a 20 foot deep avalanche that resulted in a wall of snow hanging above the pool. The water was about 108° and needed a constant supply of snow & ice to keep at an enjoyable temperature. Our trip involved multiple means of transportation. We used snowmobiles to travel a long distance into the wilderness along existing logging roads. Once deep into the mountains, we left the snowmobiles and skied to a large creek, which we crossed using an existing cable. Continuing on skis, we toured up the side of a mountain, over an avalanche until we reached the avalanche chute where the hotsprings were located. -

Relaxing sound of water, stream. Great sounds for sleep, but be careful about the volume, some parts are very watery!
Recorded where I live in Northern Thailand, a village called Pai. These are the local hot springs, many guest houses in the area offer rooms with hot spring baths :)
Yes, you do hear a faint whistle and even a clap at some point. This was one of my first 8 hours videos and I thought I'd try to help myself with editing. It did not work :)

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Old Smokey develops a bad temper in this volcanic disaster spectacle. Harry Dalton (Pierce Brosnan) is a volcano expert whose interest became more than academic after he lost the woman he loved in a volcanic emergency. When he is sent to investigate unusual seismic activity in the quiet Pacific Northwest community of Dante's Peak, he discovers people boiled to death in the local hot spring and plant and animal life dying or displaying unusual illnesses near the city's supposedly dormant volcano. Harry becomes convinced that a major volcanic catastrophe is in the cards. Rachel Wando (Linda Hamilton), the town's mayor, is a single mother who also runs the local cafe, and now that Dante's Peak has been named one of the most desirable small towns in America, tourists have been flocking to the diner and other local businesses. While concerned with the safety of her community, Rachel takes a cynical view of Harry's warnings about the volcano; she has no desire to alarm either the town's residents or the wealthy visitors lining the city's pockets. Nevertheless, Harry tries to convince Rachel of the potential danger, as they begin to develop feelings for each other that are not strictly professional. The summer of 1997 was a big season for killer volcanoes at the movies, as Dante's Peak and Volcano opened within a few months of each other.

Our experience enjoying the natural hot springs of the Goldmyer Hot Springs, and hiking to the springs, in the forests of the Cascade Mountains, Washington.
TOP TRAVEL TIPS:
*Reservations are required. They take phone calls to reserve a spot. Here's the website with their reservation calendar: http://www.goldmyer.org/calendar.php?m=20
*Bring headlamps so you can stay late and hike back in the dark in order to have the whole place to yourself like we did.
*Clothing is optional- there will likely be naked people in close proximity, just fyi.
*The hike is a gradual and easy 4.5 miles which follows the logging road.
*The water is very nice with three pools: the lower water was around 90 degrees fahrenheit, the middle pool 104 degrees, and the upper pool/ cave water temp is 111 degrees.
*Bring a hand towel for taking pictures! We forgot one and it's tough to keep your hands and the lens clean with the heat of the water, and there always a high chance of rain in the Cascades.
*The drive in gets pretty difficult after the sharp right turn. A vehicle with good tires and off road capabilities is a must.
*The driving directions in are also not very clear, but here's the driving route in:

Day 7 in Taiwan, was one of our best days so far. Ying and I woke up at our new hotel, and we decided to go on a quick day trip to Beitou hot springs, a famous area in Taipei, where there’s a natural hot water spring, and home to quite a lot of history, attractions and relaxing hotels. It was very easy to get from central Taipei to Beitou by using public transportation on the train, and it took about 30 minutes to get from central Taipei to Xin Beitou station. From Xin Beitou station, we walked over to the hot springs area.
2:15 Beitou Public Library
The first place we arrived on our day trip to Beitou hot springs was the Beitou Public Library. The library is fully in use, but the reason it’s popular to visit and it’s kind of an attraction is because of its unique architecture and its eco friendly design. We didn’t spend more than a few minutes there, but just looked at it from the outside and then took a quick peek inside.

One of the main attractions at Beitou is the hot springs museum, originally the original Japanese bathhouse in Beitou. It’s not a huge museum, and the price is free, so it’s a good place to just check out for a few minutes before moving on.

I thought it was just going to be a garden with plums, but it was actually the former home of a famous Chinese calligrapher. The house was another quick stop on our day trip, but worth the quick visit.

While there, we met up with Joe, Raymond, and his Father, by random chance. They were visiting from California and were spending the day at the Beitou hot springs and were en-route to have lunch and go to another hot spring and invited us to go along with them.

Along with Joe, Raymond, and his Father, we drove through the mountains and after about 45 minutes we arrived at a small local style hot spring where we were going to have lunch. They did all the ordering and we were soon faced with what was one of the best Taiwanese food meals I had the entire trip to Taiwan. All the food was home style cooked, and tasted very country style, and everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the deer on the hot plate and the roast quail.
On Day 7 in Taiwan, we planned to just take a day trip to Beitou hot springs, but completely unplanned, it turned into one of the best days of our trip and one of the best meals as well.

Day 7 in Taiwan, was one of our best days so far. Ying and I woke up at our new hotel, and we decided to go on a quick day trip to Beitou hot springs, a famous area in Taipei, where there’s a natural hot water spring, and home to quite a lot of history, attractions and relaxing hotels. It was very easy to get from central Taipei to Beitou by using public transportation on the train, and it took about 30 minutes to get from central Taipei to Xin Beitou station. From Xin Beitou station, we walked over to the hot springs area.
2:15 Beitou Public Library
The first place we arrived on our day trip to Beitou hot springs was the Beitou Public Library. The library is fully in use, but the reason it’s popular to visit and it’s kind of an attraction is because of its unique architecture and its eco friendly design. We didn’t spend more than a few minutes there, but just looked at it from the outside and then took a quick peek inside.

We embarked on a trip to remote hot springs in British Columbia. The hot springs had melted away a 20 foot deep avalanche that resulted in a wall of snow hanging above the pool. The water was about 108° and needed a constant supply of snow & ice to keep at an enjoyable temperature.
Our trip involved multiple means of transportation. We used snowmobiles to travel a long distance into the wilderness along existing logging roads. Once deep into the mountains, we left the snowmobiles and skied to a large creek, which we crossed using an existing cable. Continuing on skis, we toured up the side of a mountain, over an avalanche until we reached the avalanche chute where the hotsprings were located.

Rie and I went to explore Hawai onsen and the outbacks of Tottori Prefecture here in Japan. We had a lovely room with a view of Lake Togo and even got to soak in the hot springs together (Most hot springs divide off men and women separately). At the end of our trip we go to walk around Kurayoshi which was a great place to visit and see what Japan must have looked like hundreds of years ago. Thank you for joining us on this journey!
