Daley (musician)

Gareth Daley (born 29 September 1989), better known professionally as Daley (pronounced day-lee), is a British recording artist and songwriter. Daley first became prominent after co-writing and featuring on the Gorillaz 2010 single "Doncamatic", having been spotted by the band's creator Damon Albarn early in his career as an underground artist on the London music scene. The song exposed him to a wider international audience. In 2011, his mixtape Those Who Wait mixtape was independently released and achieved 150,000 downloads over its first twelve months. Its success saw him promptly signed to Universal Music.

The next two years saw him releasing two top 30 singles on the UK Singles Chart, including 2012's "Remember Me" featuring singer Jessie J and 2013's "Broken". Daley's debut album Days & Nights was released in February 2014 to critical acclaim and generated the Pharrell Williams produced top ten hit "Look Up" on the Billboard's Adult R&B Songs. Next to opening for the likes of Miguel, Maxwell, Emeli Sande, Jill Scott and Maverick Sabre, Daley has headlined venues like KOKO, Highline Ballroom, El Rey Theatre, 930 Club, and the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta.

Tommy Emmanuel

William Thomas "Tommy" Emmanuel AM (born 31 May 1955) is an Australian guitarist, songwriter and occasional singer, best known for his complex fingerstyle technique, energetic performances and the use of percussive effects on the guitar. Although originally a session player in many bands, Emmanuel has carved out his own style as a solo artist in recent years, releasing award winning albums and singles. In the May 2008 and 2010 issues of Guitar Player Magazine, he was named "Best Acoustic Guitarist" in their readers' poll. In June 2010 Emmanuel was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM).

Biography

Emmanuel was born in Australia in 1955. He received his first guitar in 1959 at age four and was taught by his mother to accompany her playing lap steel guitar. At the age of seven in 1961 he heard a young Chet Atkins playing on the radio. He vividly remembers this moment and says it greatly inspired him.

By the age of six, in 1961, he was a working professional musician. Recognizing the musical talents of Tommy and his older brother Phil Emmanuel, their father created a family band, sold the family home and took his family on the road. With the family living in two station wagons, much of Emmanuel's childhood was spent touring Australia with them, playing rhythm guitar, and rarely going to school. The family found it difficult living on the road; they were poor but never hungry, never settling in one place. His father would often drive ahead, organize interviews, advertising and finding the local music shop where they would have an impromptu concert the next day. Eventually the New South Wales Department of Education insisted that the Emmanuel children needed to go to school regularly.

For Those Who Wait

For Those Who Wait is the fourth full-length studio album released by Christian rock band Fireflight. The album was released on February 9, 2010 on Flicker Records.

Release and promotion

On February 2, 2010 until the release of the album, Fireflight posted their lead track, "For Those Who Wait", for free to download on Amiestreet.

For Those Who Wait was released on February 9, 2010. It peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart, No. 16 Alternative Albums and No. 96 on the Billboard 200. It was their highest CD on the chart, selling over 15,000 copies in its first week.

The Japanese bonus track, "Proof of Our Love", was given out to fans via e-mail on February 9, 2010. The website for the promotion, titled "For Those Who Waited", ended and the site address is now defunct.

The album received largely favorable reviews. The band toured in late 2010 on the For Those Who Wait Tour with Group 1 Crew and Manic Drive in support of the album.

On December 1, 2010, it was announced that For Those Who Wait had been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album category, marking Fireflight's first Grammy nomination. It lost to Switchfoot's Hello Hurricane.
