The Gadsden flag is a historical American flag with a yellow field depicting a rattlesnake coiled and ready to strike. Positioned below the rattlesnake are the words "Don't tread on me". The flag is named after American general and statesman Christopher Gadsden (1724–1805), who designed it in 1775 during the American Revolution. It was also used by the Continental Marines as an early motto flag, along with the Moultrie Flag.
In modern times, the Gadsden flag is often associated with political movements such as libertarianism and the American Tea Party, and has been used by U.S. Soccer supporter groups including Sam's Army and The American Outlaws since the late 1980s.
Only the timber rattlesnake occurs throughout the area of the original Thirteen Colonies. Its use as a symbol of the American colonies can be traced back to the publications of Benjamin Franklin. In 1751, he made the first reference to the rattlesnake in a satirical commentary published in his Pennsylvania Gazette. It had been the policy of Great Britain to send convicted criminals to the Americas, so Franklin suggested that they thank the British by sending rattlesnakes to England.
Don't Tread is the second and last studio album released by the American hard rock supergroup Damn Yankees. It features their second highest charting single, the power ballad "Where You Goin' Now" which peaked at number 20. The album itself reached number 22 in the Billboard 200 album chart.
All songs written by Jack Blades, Ted Nugent and Tommy Shaw.

A flag is a piece of fabric (most often rectangular or quadrilateral) with a distinctive design that is used as a symbol, as a signaling device, or as decoration. The term flag is also used to refer to the graphic design employed, and flags have since evolved into a general tool for rudimentary signalling and identification, especially in environments where communication is similarly challenging (such as the maritime environment where semaphore is used). National flags are potent patriotic symbols with varied wide-ranging interpretations, often including strong military associations due to their original and ongoing military uses. Flags are also used in messaging, advertising, or for other decorative purposes. The study of flags is known as vexillology, from the Latin word vexillum, meaning flag or banner.
Due to the use of flags by military units, "flag" is also used as the name of some military units. A flag (Arabic: لواء) is equivalent to a brigade in Arab countries, and in Spain, a flag (Spanish: bandera) is a battalion-equivalent in the Spanish Legion.
"DON'T TREAD ON ME" PLEASE SHARE I put this information together to inform people of the true meaning behind the Gadsden flag. Given current events in media and the lefts agenda to equate the flag as a symbol of terrorism and racism I thought now would be a relevant time to make and post a video explaining its history as an American Flag.
What is the Gadsden flag? What does it represent? Examiner.com (Joe Newby) recently reported a story where a high school student, Greg Stoneburner, a senior who just graduated from Central High School in Grand Junction, Colo., said he was told in no uncertain terms that he was no longer welcome at the school after raising a Gadsden flag on the school's flagpole. This story got me thinking about the history of the Gadsden flag. Watch this special report to learn a little bit on the history of this special icon of liberty. The current news cycle is running stories about the potential ban of the patriotic Gadsden Flag that has the quote Don't Tread On Me. The flag is a historical symbol of resistence to tyrannical government. This patriotic symbol of the USA has absolutely no relevant racist meaning, yet that is what the media is turning it into. The constitutional rights of the people of this country are extremely important, with freedom of speech topping that list in my opinion. Social Justice Warriors on the far left are being used as useful idiots to usher our freedoms away under the guise of hate speech. This needs to stop! Here, I describe the qualities of the Sigma Male, and why I am best described as such. http://www.riseofsigma.com/ Satanism, as well as Lucifertarianism (and plain libertarianism for that matter) is about transcending the false left/right dichotomy. The term "Left Hand Path" does not mean "left wing" as the left tends towards mindless obedience, collectivism, self-abnegation, and the blind faith and worship of the arbitrary authority of the state. The left are not satanists by any stretch of the imagination. They are the most herd mentality and give minded people. They buy into the mainstream narrative and shun all others, sometimes with rabid dog, foaming-at-the-mouth irrationality because they hate "the other." As LaVey has said, satanism represents individuality over herd mentality...
