Angus McKinnon Young (born 31 March 1955) is an Australian guitarist of Scottish origin, best known as a co-founder, lead guitarist, and songwriter of the Australian hard rock band AC/DC. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he moved to Australia with his family at the age of eight. Known for his energetic performances, schoolboy-uniform stage outfits, and his own version of Chuck Berry's duckwalk, Young was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as being among the greatest guitarists of all time.
AC/DC have remained together since their formation in 1973 and have released 17 studio albums. The band have shipped over 200 million albums worldwide, with over 70 million certified units in the US. Their 1980 studio album, Back in Black, is accountable for 50 million of those worldwide sales and is the second all-time highest-selling album worldwide. In 2003, Young and the other members of AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The youngest of eight children of William (1911–1985) and Margaret Young (1913–1988), Angus was born in Cranhill, Glasgow, Scotland. In 1963 he emigrated from Scotland to Sydney, Australia, with his parents, older brothers Malcolm and George, and older sister Margaret. He dropped out of Ashfield Boys High School at age 15. His older brother, Alex, remained in Scotland and would later form the London-based group Grapefruit.
Angus (Scottish Gaelic: Aonghas) is one of the 32 local government council areas of Scotland, a registration county and a lieutenancy area. The council area borders Aberdeenshire, Dundee City and Perth and Kinross. Main industries include agriculture and fishing. Global pharmaceuticals company GSK has a significant presence in Montrose in the north of the county.
Angus was historically a county, known officially as Forfarshire from the 18th century until 1928. It remains a registration county and a lieutenancy area. In 1975 its administrative functions were transferred to the council district of the Tayside Region, and in 1995 further reform resulted in the establishment of the unitary Angus Council.
The area that now comprises Angus has been occupied since at least the Neolithic period. Material taken from postholes from an enclosure at Douglasmuir, near Friockheim, about five miles north of Arbroath have been radiocarbon dated to around 3500 BC The function of the enclosure is unknown, but may have been for agriculture or for ceremonial purposes.
River Plate can refer to:
A guitar solo is a melodic passage, instrumental section, or entire piece of music written for a classical guitar, electric guitar or an acoustic guitar. In 20th and 21st century traditional music and popular music such as blues, swing, jazz, jazz fusion, rock and metal guitar solos often contain virtuoso techniques and varying degrees of improvisation. Guitar solos on classical guitar, which are typically written in musical notation, are also used in classical music forms such as chamber music and concertos.
Guitar solos range from unaccompanied works for a single guitar to compositions with accompaniment from a few other instruments or a large ensemble. The accompaniment musicians for a guitar solo can range from a small ensemble such as a jazz quartet or a rock band, to a large ensemble such as an orchestra or big band. Unaccompanied acoustic guitar music is found in folk and classical music dating as far back as the instrument has existed, and the use of an acoustic guitar as a solo voice within an ensemble dates back at least to the Baroque concerto.
Let There Be Rock is an album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It was the band's third internationally released studio album and the fourth to be released in Australia. All songs were written by Angus Young, Malcolm Young and Bon Scott. It was originally released on 21 March 1977 in Australia on the Albert Productions label. A modified international edition was released on 25 July 1977 on Atlantic Records.
By 1977, AC/DC had become extremely successful in their native Australia and had also achieved a degree of popularity in the U.K. and Europe, largely on the strength of their pulverizing live show. However, Atlantic Records in the United States had rejected the band's third album Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, feeling the production was not up to par, and the band, which had yet to tour America, returned to Albert Studios in Sydney to record another album. From the beginning, it appears they intended to make a statement, with guitarist Angus Young telling VH1's Behind the Music in 2000, "Me and Malcolm said, 'Well, we really want a lot of guitars,' you know? Big guitars." The band's first album released in Australia, High Voltage, had contained glam-rock elements, while their ensuing releases had been recorded piecemeal as the group toured incessantly and were also altered for international release. Let There Be Rock, on the other hand, was recorded in one go and represented a major evolution in the band's sound, with many critics and fans citing it as the first true AC/DC album; in his book Highway to Hell: The Life and Times of AC/DC Legend Bon Scott, author Clinton Walker observes, "Let There Be Rock was the first fully rounded AC/DC album. The band had finally found itself."

Article & photos: http://www.premierguitar.com/articles/24660-rig-rundown-acdc Premier Guitar’s Chris Kies traveled south to hang with AC/DC techs Trace Foster and Greg Howard before their show at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena. As you watch this video, you’ll slowly understand why both techs claim that this is both the easiest gig (because of the light load of equipment) and the hardest gig (no pedals or effects to hide behind) they’ve ever had. If things go smoothly, Angus will only use this 1967 Gibson SG during the entire show. All of the volume and tone pots have been changed several times because he sweats so much causing everything to deteriorate and corrode. The pickups have been swapped out with custom-wound, wax-potted Seymour Duncan humbuckers that have a resistance of 7.8k. All of...

AC/DC. This is the FULL VERSION. The video you see is unedited Raw Footage for my TV show, which originally was created for Night Flight on USA Cable. Most of the content has never been seen. I remember being torn between wearing a hat like Brian wears just before we started. Angus has a great sense of humor. One of the amazing things about this interview is just how funny Angus is. He was on a roll. Steve Boyle Produced the show whose videos have been seen on MTV, TNN, and other outlets throughout the 80's & 90's. Other TV shows we did with Def Leppard, Zebra, Joey Ramone and others have never been seen. This Video Feedback with Allan Handelman was recorded for the Overnight TV Show called "Night Flight." Only potions of the show ever aired. Recorded in Raleigh N.C. the day after th...
