A video purportedly showing a group of young Muslim men attempting to impose their idea of Sharia law, by removing alcohol from passers by and insulting people in east London, has sparked outrage on line.
The footage quickly came under attack, both from far right commentators and moderate Muslims who wanted to distance themselves from the young men's extreme views.
Youtube has since removed the original video.
We spoke to Ibrahim Mogra from the Muslim Council of Britain, who says there is no place for this kind of behaviour in Britain, or in Islam.

After the events of the election and Theresa May's shameful coalition with the DUP - who are known bigots and anti women's rights as well as sympathising with Loyalist Terrorists in Northern Ireland- we CANNOT roll over and admit defeat. Muslim Council of Britain
The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), established in 1997, is an umbrella body for 500 mosques, schools and associations in Britain. It includes national, regional, local, and specialist Muslim organisations and institutions from different ethnic and sectarian backgrounds within British Islamic society. Its purpose is to increase education about Islam, and to "work for the eradication of disadvantages and forms of discrimination faced by Muslims". It has been called the "best known and most powerful" of the many organisations that have been founded in the 1990 and 2000s to represent Britain's Muslims.

Council
A council is a group of people who come together to consult, deliberate, or make decisions. A council may function as a legislature, especially at a town, city or county level, but most legislative bodies at the state or national level are not considered councils. At such levels, there may be no separate executive branch, and the council may effectively represent the entire government. A board of directors might also be denoted as a council. A committee might also be denoted as a council, though a committee is generally a subordinate body composed of members of a larger body, while a council may not be. Because many schools have a student council, the council is the form of governance with which many people are likely to have their first experience as electors or participants.
A member of a council may be referred to as a councillor, or by the gender-specific titles of councilman and councilwoman.

A video purportedly showing a group of young Muslim men attempting to impose their idea of Sharia law, by removing alcohol from passers by and insulting people in east London, has sparked outrage on line. The footage quickly came under attack, both from far right commentators and moderate Muslims who wanted to distance themselves from the young men's extreme views. We were there for 3 hours and managed to get involved in various conversations with Atheists, Christians, Hindus and Buddhists. Nearly 30 copies of the Qur’ān in English (The Quran Project) and Chinese were given out along with other Islamic materials.
We ask Allah to accept this service from us and guide those who received the message to embrace Islam.

We were there for 3 hours and managed to get involved in various conversations with Atheists, Christians, Hindus and Buddhists. Nearly 30 copies of the Qur’ān in English (The Quran Project) and Chinese were given out along with other Islamic materials.

🙌 18th November, 2017 became an historic day for the Muslims in Hong Kong as the first ever charity football tournament was arranged to help fundraise to support the suffering Ummah.
🤝 Muslim Council of Hong Kong managed to arrange, by the mercy of Allah, a 7-a-side fundraising football event with 12 teams in 4 groups followed by knockout rounds. The teams were given special names such as Palestine Protectors, Rohingya Risers, Ummah United and the like. More than 25 organisations being run by Muslims supported the event.
📥 Donations were collected via team entry fees, team fundraised drives, organisations donations, goals drives and individual donations. Every single dollar went to help towards the cause of helping the people of #Rohingya, #Yemen, #Syria, #Palestine and #Somalia. Until now nearly HK$100,000 has been raised Alhumdulilah!
🏆 The teams played high intensity football with 45 goals being scored, matches going down to penalties and some great entertainment all round. And though the champions were Palestine Protectors, in such an event every one was a winner!
💌 MCHK would like to wholeheartedly thank all the players, the supporting organisations, the donors, the volunteers, the advisors, the groundsmen and the audience for making this inaugural event a massive success by the mercy of Allah!
