The content of this video is slightly harsher than the first one- content warning for (relatively mild or comical) violence, more (censored) strong language, discussion of horror/violence/misogyny, etc.
Slight, out of context spoilers for GotG? No other spoilers.
I think I'd recommend every film I mention in this video apart from
Scream 2 (and, obviously,
Crash and
Boondock Saints).
Un Chien Andalou has some graphic content and
A Clockwork Orange,
Man Bites Dog, and
The Act of Killing are all VERY disturbing, but in my opinion they're all must-see films.
I should have said "films in a language other than your own" rather than "subtitled films", I think. I feel like that's a very American-specific thing- being dismissive of "foreign" films.
Full transcript and closed captioning coming soon (by the end of this week).

“Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms.
Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”

“So you have that spectrum of
HBO on one end and
ABC on the other end, and you get these huge numbers of people going, “
Hey!
Don’t assume anything about my IQ, but I got work in the morning, and
I’ve got better things to think about than the concept of entertainment.
Charlie Sheen just made me laugh with a boner joke.
Done! He reminds me of me. He likes his slippers. He’s got amnesia in this episode.”
It’s not an easy debate. Like, are you supposed to engage in ****
ing art on TV? Is there a way to do both?”

Scorsese actually played a big part in Peeping Tom's revival.
