Stacy Keach and Carlease Burke on 'Crowded': We all need each other to survive (Episode 86)
Bob Moore and
Alice Moore never thought they’d be moving back in with their son,
Mike, and his wife,
Martina. But in
NBC’s new comedy,
Crowded, that’s exactly what happens.
Stacy Keach plays Bob, Carlease Burke plays
Alice, Patrick Warburton plays Mike and
Carrie Preston is Martina.
Talking to
Stacy and Carlease was truly enlightening. You’ll think about your own families when you watch this new video. Stacy talks about the “boomerang” generation returning to share a home after previously being on their own
. In the series, older parents also fly to this nest, adding an extra layer of complexity and humor to a crowded situation.
Inspired by
Real Life
As Stacy tells us here, producer and writer
Suzanne Martin of
Hot in Cleveland called upon her own experiences as she created this show about too much family in one place. Carlease says
Bob and Alice are “in their house, and in their face and in their business all the time” as she describes the couple’s constant interaction with Mike and Martina.
Stacy says the show is also a reflection of what’s going on in his life and in
Patrick’s life. Carlease reflects on one show in the series whose theme is “so loving and so tender”—nice touches in a comedy.
Two Multitalented
Actors
With a resume that’s miles long, Stacy will soon be seen in the film,
Gold, with
Matthew McConaughey, along with
Cell and
Father Rupert Mayer. He has always been extraordinarily busy in
Hollywood, with nearly
100 films to his credit. The number of
TV shows is also mind-boggling, with notables including
Mike Hammer, Private Eye,
Prison Break and
Titus.
He’s a voice actor, a musician and a preeminent stage actor. He was a
Fulbright scholar to the
London Academy of Music and
Dramatic Art, and has
Berkeley and
Yale on his c.v.
Carlease’s television credits include ER,
NYPD Blue,
NCIS and many more along with film roles. Like Stacy, she’s multitalented: She’s an author and an
American Sign Language interpreter.
Fans are glad she didn’t continue down her path in pre-law.
Catch the laughs with the
Moore family, when Crowded premieres Sunday, March 20, at 9:30/8:30c on
NBC.
Mia Serafino and
Miranda Cosgrove round out the cast. As Stacy says in this interview, “bonding with family is so important.”
Indeed it is.
Enjoy the show!
