This video goes over my top 5 bass lures I used during 2013. Many of these were carry-overs from my 2012 favorites. As I tend to be more of a "power" fisherman you'll immediately notice the lack of any finesse lures. By "top lures" I'm referring to those lures that I almost always have tied on to some of my rods at any given time. I'm always hesitant to recommend an individual lure as being significantly different than those in its general lure category, but for the purposes of choosing five I isolate my picks down to brand, model and color.

Loures, Heraklion

Loures (Greek: Λούρες) is a village on the island of Crete in Greece, located in the municipality of Gortyn (until 2011 in the municipality of Kofinas) of Heraklion regional unit, at the northern edge of the Messara Plain. It is 53.8 kilometres (33.4 mi) by road south of Heraklion city.

The people of Loures are involved in the cultivation of olive trees and vineyards and the raising of livestock. The indigenous Messara horse is extensively bred there.

History

The settlement appears in the Venetian censuses of the 16th century under the name Lures; 109 inhabitants are recorded in Piero Castrofilaca's 1583 census.

This video goes over my top 5 bass lures I used during 2013. Many of these were carry-overs from my 2012 favorites. As I tend to be more of a "power" fisherman you'll immediately notice the lack of any finesse lures. By "top lures" I'm referring to those lures that I almost always have tied on to some of my rods at any given time. I'm always hesitant to recommend an individual lure as being significantly different than those in its general lure category, but for the purposes of choosing five I isolate my picks down to brand, model and color.

active or schooling fish will hit any lure any color so long as the lure is in the same water strata as the fish. the reason we use one lure vs another is that we change lures until we catch something and once we catch something we keep using the same lure - i had a blast catching short stripers last week on a plain white bucktail, because it was working! another night i had a blast catching fish on a MirrOlure suspending twitchbait... because it was catching fish, why would I change to put the bucktail on just because it caught fish the day before? No, we get into em and then keep throwing whatever is working at the time - truth is when fish are around they hit virtually any lure that we happen to put our hand on. here is a selection of lures i have found most useful fishing saltwater nearly 5 decades. i fish from the ocean and bay beaches, from rock jetties, piers, bridges, marshes and estuaries, backwaters, inlets, canals... you name it. each kind of location sets itself up for a particular presentation - for example i would not throw crankbaits under a low bridge, mainly because of snags and the chances of cracking the lure against the cement structure. a bucktail or jig with soft plastic works well in that situation. from the ocean beaches i like a spoon... bay side i like topwater or spoon. night time suspending twitchbaits and sometimes jigs. long video but hope you enjoy the discussion - thx 4 watching and bass wishes! http://clatterbrat.weebly.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html

As I tend to be more of a "power" fisherman you'll immediately notice the lack of any finesse lures. By "top lures" I'm referring to those lures that I almost always have tied on to some of my rods at any given time. I'm always hesitant to recommend an individual lure as being significantly different than those in its general lure category, but for the purposes of choosing five I isolate my picks down to brand, model and color.

active or schooling fish will hit any lure any color so long as the lure is in the same water strata as the fish. the reason we use one lure vs another is that we change lures until we catch something and once we catch something we keep using the same lure - i had a blast catching short stripers last week on a plain white bucktail, because it was working! another night i had a blast catching fish on a MirrOlure suspending twitchbait... because it was catching fish, why would I change to put the bucktail on just because it caught fish the day before? No, we get into em and then keep throwing whatever is working at the time - truth is when fish are around they hit virtually any lure that we happen to put our hand on. here is a selection of lures i have found most useful fishing saltwater nearly 5 decades. i fish from the ocean and bay beaches, from rock jetties, piers, bridges, marshes and estuaries, backwaters, inlets, canals... you name it. each kind of location sets itself up for a particular presentation - for example i would not throw crankbaits under a low bridge, mainly because of snags and the chances of cracking the lure against the cement structure. a bucktail or jig with soft plastic works well in that situation. from the ocean beaches i like a spoon... bay side i like topwater or spoon. night time suspending twitchbaits and sometimes jigs. long video but hope you enjoy the discussion - thx 4 watching and bass wishes! http://clatterbrat.weebly.com/store/c1/Featured_Products.html
