All Boss Intros of the Spyro Game Series
Here begins my Spyro the Dragon walkthrough for PlayStation 1.
Unlike my other walkthroughs, this time the game is emulated.
Played on ePSXe, recorded with HyperCam and edited with Sony Vegas.
I love Spyro because it's not only fun, it has very little dialogue and very few cutscenes. It's 98% of FUN gameplay. You don't need epic tales, the point is to jump, glide, headbash and flame through levels saving dragons, collecting gems and beating enemies.
Reviewers have said Spyro 3 was just Spyro 1 and 2 all over again, and why shouldn't it be? If I wanted to play something else than Spyro, I would play something else. When I want to play Spyro, I play Spyro, and it's even better if the same game lasts for 3 games. Redefining video game series and video gaming itself is overrated. Look what came out of Fahrenheit. FAIL!

And just in time for whenever, we have this Theater Mode of TLOS:TEN! It's in 480p because this game was released for PS2 and Wii, neither of which were capable of rendering this game in high-definition at the time. I suppose I could have technically downloaded an emulator and played through the game while capturing it at the same time, but my computer definitely isn't fast enough for that.
As with the Let's Play: if the audio is muted by Rebecca Kneubuhl's lawyers -- even though she apparently doesn't sell her music anywhere -- I intend to reupload this video with a different song at the end. (I'm well aware that most consumers of Theater Modes like this enjoy the series a lot more than I do, so I'll try and find something that fits the atmosphere.)
I do intend to eventually do Dawn of the Dragon, -BUT- only as an accessory to a Let's Play, which requires a number of things in order to show it off properly: 1) one of my cross-country commenters to join me in playing this game's local co-op mode, and 2) Demoweasel to have a schedule that isn't clogged by college deadlines. Don't hold your breath, is what I'm saying, and don't be offended if any of the games I LP between now and then get Theater Modes in the meantime.

Lobst here! I had the nutty idea to replay TLoS:aNB specifically so I could get 720p video of all its cutscenes for a recap before we launch into The Eternal Night (which I'll be editing the first video for shortly). Some of the people who watched our Let's Play may have been disappointed that we talked over some of the more unenthusiastic lines of dialogue, so here it is: every dialogue-bearing cutscene in the game, stitched together Metroid: Other M-style.
I didn't include any scenes that panned over from ingame Spyro to a door opening/a new switch to flip/a bunch of baboons, because I wanted to emphasize just how small the amount of actual story there is in the second act: Five minutes per hour-long section of tedious, awful gameplay. This game pitches itself as a cinematic experience with name-actors, and is a chore to run through (especially in the final area, where the tactic of tossing enemies off cliffs with electricity isn't an option most of the time) -- how did VU/Krome assume people wouldn't be pissed off at it?
There's some visual stuttering in the FMV sequences, but that's the way it plays out ingame in the Xbox Originals version on 360. Anyway, here it is if you want it. "Enjoy!"

And just in time for whenever, we have this Theater Mode of TLOS:TEN! It's in 480p because this game was released for PS2 and Wii, neither of which were capable of rendering this game in high-definition at the time. I suppose I could have technically downloaded an emulator and played through the game while capturing it at the same time, but my computer definitely isn't fast enough for that. As with the Let's Play: if the audio is muted by Rebecca Kneubuhl's lawyers -- even though she apparently doesn't sell her music anywhere -- I intend to reupload this video with a different song at the end. (I'm well aware that most consumers of Theater Modes like this enjoy the series a lot more than I do, so I'll try and find something that fits the atmosphere.) I do intend to eventually do Dawn of the Dragon, -BUT- only as an accessory to a Let's Play, which requires a number of things in order to show it off properly: 1) one of my cross-country commenters to join me in playing this game's local co-op mode, and 2) Demoweasel to have a schedule that isn't clogged by college deadlines. Don't hold your breath, is what I'm saying, and don't be offended if any of the games I LP between now and then get Theater Modes in the meantime. Other than that, enjoy! Lobst here! I had the nutty idea to replay TLoS:aNB specifically so I could get 720p video of all its cutscenes for a recap before we launch into The Eternal Night (which I'll be editing the first video for shortly). Some of the people who watched our Let's Play may have been disappointed that we talked over some of the more unenthusiastic lines of dialogue, so here it is: every dialogue-bearing cutscene in the game, stitched together Metroid: Other M-style. I didn't include any scenes that panned over from ingame Spyro to a door opening/a new switch to flip/a bunch of baboons, because I wanted to emphasize just how small the amount of actual story there is in the second act: Five minutes per hour-long section of tedious, awful gameplay. This game pitches itself as a cinematic experience with name-actors, and is a chore to run through (especially in the final area, where the tactic of tossing enemies off cliffs with electricity isn't an option most of the time) -- how did VU/Krome assume people wouldn't be pissed off at it? There's some visual stuttering in the FMV sequences, but that's the way it plays out ingame in the Xbox Originals version on 360. Anyway, here it is if you want it. "Enjoy!" -

Here begins my Spyro the Dragon walkthrough for PlayStation 1. Unlike my other walkthroughs, this time the game is emulated. Played on ePSXe, recorded with HyperCam and edited with Sony Vegas. I love Spyro because it's not only fun, it has very little dialogue and very few cutscenes. It's 98% of FUN gameplay. You don't need epic tales, the point is to jump, glide, headbash and flame through levels saving dragons, collecting gems and beating enemies. Reviewers have said Spyro 3 was just Spyro 1 and 2 all over again, and why shouldn't it be? If I wanted to play something else than Spyro, I would play something else. Unlike my other walkthroughs, this time the game is emulated.
Played on ePSXe, recorded with HyperCam and edited with Sony Vegas.
I love Spyro because it's not only fun, it has very little dialogue and very few cutscenes. It's 98% of FUN gameplay. You don't need epic tales, the point is to jump, glide, headbash and flame through levels saving dragons, collecting gems and beating enemies.
Reviewers have said Spyro 3 was just Spyro 1 and 2 all over again, and why shouldn't it be? If I wanted to play something else than Spyro, I would play something else. When I want to play Spyro, I play Spyro, and it's even better if the same game lasts for 3 games. Redefining video game series and video gaming itself is overrated. Look what came out of Fahrenheit. FAIL!
Anyway, here's the original classic.

And just in time for whenever, we have this Theater Mode of TLOS:TEN! It's in 480p because this game was released for PS2 and Wii, neither of which were capable of rendering this game in high-definition at the time. I suppose I could have technically downloaded an emulator and played through the game while capturing it at the same time, but my computer definitely isn't fast enough for that.
As with the Let's Play: if the audio is muted by Rebecca Kneubuhl's lawyers -- even though she apparently doesn't sell her music anywhere -- I intend to reupload this video with a different song at the end. (I'm well aware that most consumers of Theater Modes like this enjoy the series a lot more than I do, so I'll try and find something that fits the atmosphere.)
I do intend to eventually do Dawn of the Dragon, -BUT- only as an accessory to a Let's Play, which requires a number of things in order to show it off properly: 1) one of my cross-country commenters to join me in playing this game's local co-op mode, and 2) Demoweasel to have a schedule that isn't clogged by college deadlines. Don't hold your breath, is what I'm saying, and don't be offended if any of the games I LP between now and then get Theater Modes in the meantime.

Lobst here! I had the nutty idea to replay TLoS:aNB specifically so I could get 720p video of all its cutscenes for a recap before we launch into The Eternal Night (which I'll be editing the first video for shortly). Some of the people who watched our Let's Play may have been disappointed that we talked over some of the more unenthusiastic lines of dialogue, so here it is: every dialogue-bearing cutscene in the game, stitched together Metroid: Other M-style.
I didn't include any scenes that panned over from ingame Spyro to a door opening/a new switch to flip/a bunch of baboons, because I wanted to emphasize just how small the amount of actual story there is in the second act: Five minutes per hour-long section of tedious, awful gameplay. This game pitches itself as a cinematic experience with name-actors, and is a chore to run through (especially in the final area, where the tactic of tossing enemies off cliffs with electricity isn't an option most of the time) -- how did VU/Krome assume people wouldn't be pissed off at it?
There's some visual stuttering in the FMV sequences, but that's the way it plays out ingame in the Xbox Originals version on 360. Anyway, here it is if you want it. "Enjoy!"

Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage Summary:
The protagonist of the series, Spyro the Dragon, decides to take a vacation to Dragon Shores with his friend Sparx a few years after defeating Gnasty Gnorc. The portal he enters accidentally takes him to the land of Avalar because the Professor, Elora and Hunter are trying to bring a dragon to Avalar. A sorcerer, known as Ripto, has invaded the world of Avalar and is wreaking havoc on its citizens with his magic. Idols come to life and attack their creators, Eskimos are encased in ice cubes, and a civilization of seahorses has had its water confiscated. Spyro must travel through the land of Avalar, undoing the damage done by Ripto and ultimately defeating him.
