P60 Jetcat in Bobcat XL Speed test on runway cam
Had my turbine out for the first time this year, shaking out the cobwebs. Also had out the Garmin GPS. I had been told it would do 150 or 160mph but never thought in a powered dive it would reach these kinds of speeds. 206mph is a little over it's structural airspeed limit of 175, which is what BVM says this kit is supposed to be good for. Guess I won't be doing any more powered dives with it. The next flight I put it in, flew around with basically no dives to see what the power would actually move it around at, and that turned out to be around 130mph. Cruising speed LOL I to look at the routes, maximum altitude and speed that the turbine took. The GPS will let me upload it to Google Earth and see every second of the flight, in detail. While we were out there, also got the GPS into Dave's Sundowner. No real dives, just some decent passes, and we got 149mph out of that. Have to do the same with my Sundowner and compare. Also we'll be putting a larger pitch prop on them to see if we can break 150. In a dive I'm sure we could be we'll be able to see what it's doing in flat and level flight off the GPS software as well. And to finish off, Super is doing some heli stunts with his 50 size Raven, and has a flame out while low and inverted. Nice save, and only bounced off the ground a little bit haha Thanks for watching, more great stuff to come from this weekend. Got an F86 on film, from FlyFly models, a big gas P47 from H9 and Also a CMP Zero flying around out at Mission, so ...
