Mega Man Battle Network 2, known as Battle Network Rockman EXE 2 (バトルネットワーク ロックマンエグゼ2, Batoru Nettowāku Rokkuman Eguze Tsū) in Japan, is a video game developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) handheld game console. It is the second game of the Mega Man Battle Network series . It was released in 2001 in Japan and 2002 in America and Europe. The story of the game starts after the events of Mega Man Network Transmission. It was released on the Wii U's Virtual Console in Japan on November 12, 2014 and in North America on January 8, 2015.
The general gameplay is essentially identical to that of the original Mega Man Battle Network game; indeed, the two games utilize a significant amount of the same graphics. However, Battle Network 2 introduces several new concepts that augment the original game-system.
In terms of health, Mega Man no longer heals fully and automatically after each battle. Furthermore, the game introduces the SubChip, a device similar in basic concept to a battle chip but one that can only be activated outside of battle.
Mega Man Battle Network, known in Japan as Rockman.EXE (ロックマンエグゼ, Rokkuman Eguze), is one of Capcom's Mega Man series and debuted in 2001 on the Game Boy Advance. It is a real-time tactical-RPG spin-off series based on the original Mega Man series, taking place in a separate continuity where computer and networking technology advanced instead of robotics. There are six main Mega Man Battle Network games as well as several side-story games.
The series is set in the year 200X (20XX in the sixth game), in an alternate version of the original Mega Man universe in which networks, rather than robots, were the subject of the most research. Like the original, there were two main projects and only one was funded, but unlike the original, the work of Dr. Tadashi Hikari (the series' version of Dr. Light) in the field of networking and AI programs had been funded over Dr. Wily's research in robotics. The result of Dr. Hikari's research was the PET (PErsonal Terminal), a small computer which is used similarly to a cellular phone or PDA and which contains a customizable artificial intelligence complete with emotions, known as a NetNavi (short for Network Navigator).
Mega Man Battle Network 5, known as Rockman EXE 5 (ロックマンエグゼ5, Rokkuman Eguze Faibu) in Japan, is a video game developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) and Nintendo DS handheld game consoles. It is the fifth game in the Mega Man Battle Network series, and the first Mega Man game to be released on the Nintendo DS. Battle Network 5 comes in three different versions: Team ProtoMan (Team of Blues (チーム オブ ブルース, Chīmu Obu Burūsu)) and Team Colonel (Team of Colonel (チーム オブ カーネル, Chīmu Obu Kāneru)), both for the Game Boy Advance, which have similar gameplay but slightly different supporting characters and stories, and Mega Man Battle Network 5: Double Team DS, Rockman EXE 5 DS: Twin Leaders (ロックマンエグゼ5DS ツインリーダーズ, Rokkuman Eguze Faibu Dī Esu Tsuin Rīdāzu) in Japan, for the Nintendo DS, which includes the content from both games as well as extra content.
Gameplay in Mega Man Battle Network 5 in this game is largely similar to that of its predecessors. The intrepid youngster Lan Hikari and his sentient computer program, MegaMan.EXE, must work to defeat the once-again-revived Nebula crime syndicate. Lan explores the real world and interacts with people and places there. When Lan plugs his PET, a handheld computer, into a computer with an interface jack (of which there are many), he can upload Mega Man to the cyber network. In that network, Mega Man can explore, but he's also threatened by viruses.
Mega Man Battle Network 4, known as Rockman EXE 4 (ロックマンエグゼ4, Rokkuman Eguze Fō) in Japan, is a video game developed by Capcom for the Game Boy Advance (GBA) handheld game console. It is the fourth game in the Mega Man Battle Network series. Like Battle Network 3 before it, Battle Network 4 has two different versions, Red Sun (Tournament Red Sun in Japan) and Blue Moon (Tournament Blue Moon in Japan), that differ in story and gameplay details. Battle Network 4 is compatible with the e-Reader, and can be linked up with Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation and the Battle Chip Gate for NetBattles. It is able to link with Mega Man Zero 3, and contains references to Konami's Boktai series.
