The Book of Judith is a deuterocanonical book, included in the Septuagint and the Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christian Old Testament of the Bible, but excluded from Jewish texts and assigned by Protestants to the Apocrypha. The book contains numerous historical anachronisms, which is why many scholars now accept it as non-historical; it has been considered a parable or perhaps the first historical novel.
The name Judith (Hebrew: יְהוּדִית, Modern Yehudit, Tiberian Yəhûḏîṯ ; "Praised" or "Jewess") is the feminine form of Judah.
It is not clear whether the Book of Judith was originally written in Hebrew or in Greek. The oldest extant version is the Septuagint and might either be a translation from Hebrew or composed in Greek. Details of vocabulary and phrasing point to a Greek text written in a language modeled on the Greek developed through translating the other books in the Septuagint. The extant Hebrew language versions, whether identical to the Greek, or in the shorter Hebrew version, are medieval. The Hebrew versions name important figures directly such as the Seleucid king Antiochus Epiphanes, thus placing the events in the Hellenistic period when the Maccabees battled the Seleucid monarchs. The Greek version uses deliberately cryptic and anachronistic references such as "Nebuchadnezzar", a "King of Assyria," who "reigns in Nineveh," for the same king. The adoption of that name, though unhistorical, has been sometimes explained either as a copyist's addition, or an arbitrary name assigned to the ruler of Babylon.
Judith Anne Collins (born 24 February 1959) is a New Zealand politician and lawyer, and is currently Minister of Corrections and Police. Born in Hamilton and as of 2015 residing in Auckland, she graduated in law and taxation and worked in this field from 1981 until 2002, including running her own practice for a decade. She entered Parliament in the 2002 election as an electorate MP for the centre-right New Zealand National Party and became a Cabinet minister when National came into government in 2008. Her initial ministerial portfolios were Police, Corrections and Veterans' Affairs. After the 2011 election, her portfolios changed to Justice (including responsibility for the Law Commission), Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) and Ethnic Affairs. With a fifth-placed ranking, she was the highest ranked woman in the Cabinet. She resigned from Cabinet on 30 August 2014 following email leaks alleging she had undermined the head of the Serious Fraud Office when she was the Minister responsible for that organisation.

Plot: Nathan has returned from London to live with his mother Janice and the pair are reconciled. Nathan is still having trouble at school with taunts from homophobes but finally asserts himself. Hazel is concerned that Stuart is too influential where Vince, who has left Cameron, is concerned, especially when they attend Vince's half-sister's wedding and Hazel believes Stuart asks her son for a slow dance only to prove that he is out of the closet. Stuart himself finally outs himself to his parents after his young nephew has discovered that he is gay and tried to blackmail him. His father is less accepting but his mother is much cheered after taking advice from Hazel and Janice. Alexander's father is dying and his mother makes him sign an agreement foregoing any inheritance. He is depressed and takes an over-dose,prompting Stuart to torch her car to Vince's disapproval though he still makes it back for Nathan's birthday party. Vince wins promotion at work, thanks to Hazel and Bernard stitching up his rival but he eventually throws it all in as he and Stuart leave Manchester and head West, a couple - convincingly or not - at last.

Many people have uploaded Judy's original 1967 album version of this song but no one has posted the 1968 single version--until now. Although you're looking at the Wildflowers album cover what you're hearing is the hit single version that was played all over the radio.
The whole story: I was singing this song and then I wanted to know who the singer was. I tried in the internet using the chorus lines and I found this lovely woman (Judy). I opened the YouTube and searched for this song but I could not find it. I could only find other people singing it. I asked my brother to download it from the internet but nothing. So, my sister's birthday was coming and I guessed it would be a good gift to her. I went to FNAC but they told me it would take a month to get the CD! "OK"- I said. Now, my friends, you can all hear this wonderful Judy singing this beautiful song from 1971 (on tour in 1970). Please enjoy it. Oh, the CD? I'm gonna pack it up again and give it to my sister, of course. :-) Copyrights (written on the CD I bought): ELEKTRA; WARNER MUSIC MANUFACT...

"Open the door and come on in, I'm so glad to see you my friend, you're like a rainbow comin' around the bend .." From 1980, maybe earlier, alone in an empty studio, Judy Collins performs her own poignantly lovely "Song For Judith (Open The Door)" on the piano. Originally released on her 1971 live album, "Living". What a beautiful find. CLICK ON SHOW MORE FOR LYRICS AND LINKS! I'll be honest, I had no idea what to expect when I put this on the ol' turntable, except that I know that Tom Petty's Wildflowers album is fantastic. Aside from her gorgeous voice, the arrangements are masterful and the lyrics are deep. I may not parle français, but I can recognize good foreign singing when I hear it.
