Good Deeds

Good Deeds is a 2012 American romantic drama film written, co-produced, directed by and starring Tyler Perry. The film was released on February 24, 2012. It is the eleventh out of thirteen films directed by Perry in which he appears.

Plot

The film opens up with Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry), the rich entrepreneur of the family-owned Deeds Corporation, getting dressed for work. His fiancée, Natalie (Gabrielle Union) fixes breakfast for him, obsessing over Wesley’s predictable daily routine and life. Before going to work, Wesley makes one unpredictable stop- to pick up his delinquent younger brother Walter (Brian J. White), who lost his driver’s license after a string of DUIs. Wesley informs Walter they are going to have lunch with their mother, the respectable Wilimena Deeds (Phylicia Rashad).

After lunch, Wilimena goes to meet Natalie, Natalie’s mother, and Natalie’s best friend Heidi (Rebecca Romijn) at the bridal shop. Wilimena and Natalie’s mother urge the bride-to-be to consider her future with Wesley by opening up about how many children they want. At the same time, on an impoverished side of town, Lindsey Wakefield (Thandie Newton), a single mother and cleaning woman for The Deeds Corporation, finds out that she will be evicted from her home if she doesn’t pay her bills soon.

"Watch This" is a song written by Ron Harbin, Aaron Barker and Anthony L. Smith, recorded by American country music singer Clay Walker. It was released in August 1997 as the third single from his album Rumor Has It.

The song is Walker's fourteenth single release, as well as his tenth Top Ten hit on the Billboard country singles charts.

Content

"Watch This" was written by Ron Harbin, Aaron Barker and Anthony L. Smith. The song is a mid-tempo ballad in which the male narrator encourages his female lover to trust him and fall in love with him.

The song features accompaniment from steel-string acoustic guitar and piano, with Dobro and fiddle flourishes.

Music video

A music video was filmed for this song and premiered in August 1997. It was directed by Bill Young.

Chart positions

"Watch This" is Walker's fourteenth Top 40 single on the Billboard country singles charts, making its debut at number 61 on the chart week of August 9, 1997. The song spent twenty weeks on the charts, peaking at number 4 on the chart week of November 22. It also peaked at number 13 on the RPM Country Tracks charts in Canada.

Tyler Perry

Tyler Perry (born Emmitt Perry Jr.; September 13, 1969) is an American actor, producer, director, screenwriter, playwright, author, and songwriter, specializing in the gospel genre. Perry wrote and produced many stage plays during the 1990s and early 2000s. In 2011, Forbes named him the highest paid man in entertainment; he earned US$130 million between May 2010 and 2011.
