The ANZAC Day Cup contested between the Sydney Roosters and the St. George Illawarra Dragons was introduced in the 2002 NRL season, it would gradually become an annual highlight in the NRL season.
As of 2015, the St. George Illawarra Dragons have recorded nine wins whilst the Sydney Roosters have recorded five wins. All ANZAC Day Cup matches have been played in Sydney, specifically the Sydney Football Stadium except the 2008 edition, which was played at Stadium Australia. The highest attendance for the ANZAC Day Cup was recorded in 2013 where the Sydney Roosters defeated the St. George Illawarra Dragons 34 – 10.
