Tigers (League of Legends)

ROX Tigers, formerly known as HUYA Tigers, GE Tigers, KOO Tigers and simply Tigers, is a professional League of Legends team based in South Korea.

Chinese social networking site YY acquired a Korean team to promote their newly renamed online streaming service in Korea. YY's parent company Guongzhou Huaduo Network Technology, LLC. (Duowan Inc) hopes to promote their newly renamed streaming site, HUYA.com, in Korea by creating a team built around well known Korean players. The team was registered under Duowan's Korean subsidiary GE Entertainment. They are not currently a part of the KeSPA organization. The team competes in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) league.

In the 2015 League of Legends World Championship the Tigers placed second in their preliminary group before beating KT Rolster and Fnatic in the bracket stage. The team garnered second place after facing SK Telecom T1 in the finals in Berlin, Germany.

History

2014

Tigers is a Korean League of Legends team that was founded in November 2014, sponsored by Chinese streaming company YY. The initial roster, announced under the name HUYA Tigers, included former members of NaJin Sword, NaJin Shield, and Incredible Miracle 1: Smeb (Top), Lee (Jungle), KurO (Mid), PraY (AD Carry), and GorillA (Support) comprised the initial lineup, with NoFe as a coach. Shortly after its formation, the team qualified for the League of Legends Champions Korea Spring Qualifiers, placing first in the group stage over Team Avalanche. They went 2–1 in the final stage and successfully qualified for SBENU Champions Spring 2015. In the Champions Spring pre-season, HUYA Tigers finished tied for third place with KT Rolster, each with 7 points. They renamed to GE Tigers at the start of the Spring Season.

Tigers (film)

Tigers (initially titled White Lies) is a 2014 Indian-International film directed by Danis Tanovic, starring Emraan Hashmi. The film's music will be composed by Pritam. It has been selected to be screened in the Contemporary World Cinema section at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. The film is based on a real-life story, about a salesman working the pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan, discovers its truths, while selling baby formula products, and tries to fight against the system.

The film is a joint production between Cinemorphic, French production company ASAP Films and Sikhya Entertainment.

Plot

Ayan (Emran Hashmi) is a young, recently married salesman who gets a job peddling locally made drugs to pharmacies and doctors. Despite the fact that the Pakistani-manufactured pharmaceuticals he sells are much cheaper than those sold by Western competitors, no one will trust or buy products that lack major brand names. His wife encourages him to apply for a job with Lasta, a large multinational, and Ayan is hired on a trial basis. It's not long before his natural charm and knack for glad-handing make him into a minor star, and Lasta expands his responsibilities. However, one day he is devastated to see first-hand what the selling of baby formula really means in certain cases. Shocked, Ayan sets out to challenge the system and the powers that be.

Tigers Militia

The Tigers Militia (Arabic: نمور الأحرار, transliterated: Numūr or Al-Noumour), also known as NLP Tigers or Tigers of the Liberals (Arabic: Numur al-Ahrar) and PNL "Lionceaux" in French, was the military wing of the National Liberal Party (NLP) during the Lebanese Civil War.

Origins

The NLP militia was first raised in October 1968 by Camille Chamoun at his own home town of Es-Sa’adiyat, originally under the title Brigade of the Lebanese Tigers – BLT (Arabic: Katibat al-Numur al-Lubnaniyya) or Brigade des Lionceaux Libanais (BLL) in French, allegedly taken from his middle name, Nimr – meaning “Tiger” in Arabic. Initially just 500-men strong, the BLT was organized, trained, and led by the ‘defence secretary’ of the NLP Naim Berdkan; after his death in action in January 1976, he was succeeded by Dany Chamoun, Camille Chamoun's son.

Allocated at first in the NLP party offices’ at the neighborhood of Sodeco in the Achrafieh quarter of Beirut, the Tigers’ military HQ was relocated in 1978 to Safra, a boat marina and tourist beach resort located 25 km north of the Lebanese capital in the Keserwan District, where it remained until the militia’s dissolution.

2015 NRL season

The 2015 NRL season was the 108th season of professional rugby league in Australia and the 18th season of the National Rugby League in Australia and New Zealand. The season started in New Zealand with the annual Auckland Nines, which was followed by the Rugby League All Stars Match, returning after a one-year hiatus, and the World Club Series.North Queensland Cowboys won their first premiership in only the second Grand Final to be decided in extra time.

Season launch & advertising

The season launched with a gala event at the Queens Wharf, Auckland on 29 January attended by a selection of the code's stars including Shaun Johnson and Greg Inglis. It was the first time the event had been held outside Australia.

The NRL and their longstanding ad agency MJW Haukuhodo used, for the second year running, Robbie Williams' "Let Me Entertain You" as the commercial soundtrack. The launch commercial takes members and supporters on a journey from the outback plains of Western Queensland to an inner city boot camp in Sydney and features more than fifty NRL club members and fans in a range of scenarios that include a rendition of a Haka on a Sydney train and a focus on Greg Inglis' trademark Goanna post-try celebration.

2013 NRL season

The 2013 NRL season was the 106th season of professional rugby league club competition in Australia. The National Rugby League's main competition, named the 2013 Telstra Premiership after major sponsors Telstra Corporation, was contested by sixteen teams during the regular season, which lasted from March to September, and resulted in the top eight finishing teams, who went on to contest the finals. The season culminated in the Grand Final, in which the Sydney Roosters defeated the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles 26-18 to win their first NRL premiership since 2002.

The NRL season started with the 2013 NRL All Stars match, which was played in February. The 2013 Holden Cup, the NRL's under-20 competition, also took place alongside the Premiership, with most matches held before the first grade competition. The Parramatta Eels picked up the wooden spoon for the second consecutive season after winning only five matches for the season.
