In order to obtain the Athmalinga of Lord Shiva, Ravana performed severe penance at Kailasa and secured the Athmalinga. The Suras frightened by this, approached Lord Ganesha. Due to the clever play of Ganesha, the Athmalinga remained at Gokarna. As the abode of the one and only one Athmalinga of Lord Shiva, Gokarna gained tremendous spiritual significance. It is at this holy place that Shreemad Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree Raghaveshwara bharathi Swamiji has resolved to offer chanting of Rudra (verses describing the auspicious qualities of Lord Shiva) one crore times for the welfare of mankind.
What is Rudra Puja?
Rudra Pooja is an ancient practice followed in India since time immemorial. 'Rudra' means 'Shiva - the Benevolent', ' the Destroyer of Evil'. 'Pooja' means that which is born out of fullness. Through this Pooja one can aim for inner peace and fulfillment. In this Pooja, Lord Shiva is worshipped in his Rudra form.
It is hailed by all Vedic scriptures as one of the greatest Poojas to remove all evils, to attain all desires and for all-round prosperity. Scriptures on Astrology prescribe this emphatically as a remedy for several planetary doshas.
Why do we do Rudra Pooja?
The world is a play of energy: negative and positive. When we pray to Shiva -- the Lord of transformation - the entire negative energy around us in form of disease, depression, and unhappiness gets transformed into peace, prosperity and joy. Then peace surrounds us in body, mind and soul.

Rudra (Devanagari: रुद्र) is a Rigvedic God, associated with wind or storm, and the hunt. The name has been translated as "The Roarer", or "The Howler".
The theonym Shiva originates as an epithet of Rudra, the adjective shiva "kind" being used euphemistically of the god who in the Rigveda also carries the epithet ghora "terrible". Usage of the epithet came to exceed the original theonym and by the post-Vedic period (in the Sanskrit Epics), and the name Rudra has been taken as a synonym for the god Shiva and the two names are used interchangeably.
The etymology of the theonym Rudra is somewhat uncertain. It is usually derived from the root rud- which means "to cry, howl." According to this etymology, the name Rudra has been translated as "the Roarer". An alternate etymology suggested by Prof. Pischel derives Rudra ("the Red, the Brilliant") from a lost root rud-, "to be red" or "to be ruddy", or according to Grassman, "to shine". Stella Kramrisch notes a different etymology connected with the adjectival form raudra, which means wild, of rudra nature, and translates the name Rudra as "the Wild One" or "the Fierce God". R. K. Sharma follows this alternate etymology and translates the name as "Terrible" in his glossary for the Shiva Sahasranama.

In order to obtain the Athmalinga of Lord Shiva, Ravana performed severe penance at Kailasa and secured the Athmalinga. The Suras frightened by this, approached Lord Ganesha. Due to the clever play of Ganesha, the Athmalinga remained at Gokarna. As the abode of the one and only one Athmalinga of Lord Shiva, Gokarna gained tremendous spiritual significance. It is at this holy place that Shreemad Jagadguru Shankaracharya Shree Shree Raghaveshwara bharathi Swamiji has resolved to offer chanting of Rudra (verses describing the auspicious qualities of Lord Shiva) one crore times for the welfare of mankind.
What is Rudra Puja?
Rudra Pooja is an ancient practice followed in India since time immemorial. 'Rudra' means 'Shiva - the Benevolent', ' the Destroyer of Evil'. 'Pooja' means that which is born out of fullness. Through this Pooja one can aim for inner peace and fulfillment. In this Pooja, Lord Shiva is worshipped in his Rudra form.
It is hailed by all Vedic scriptures as one of the greatest Poojas to remove all evils, to attain all desires and for all-round prosperity. Scriptures on Astrology prescribe this emphatically as a remedy for several planetary doshas.
Why do we do Rudra Pooja?
The world is a play of energy: negative and positive. When we pray to Shiva -- the Lord of transformation - the entire negative energy around us in form of disease, depression, and unhappiness gets transformed into peace, prosperity and joy. Then peace surrounds us in body, mind and soul.

'Hymns' is a heavy metal re-imagination of the ancient Sanskrit text, The Bhagavad Gita.
Before the start of the Kurukshetra War, Prince Arjuna is reluctant to go into battle as he has to fight his relatives, beloved friends and revered teachers.
In desperation, Arjuna turns to his charioteer and mentor, Krishna for advice. Krishna explains to Arjuna his duties as a warrior and reveals the nature of the Self.

The battle of shreyas and preyas enshrouds the Dharma yuddha
ashocyan anvashocas tvam (You grieve for those who are not worthy of grief)

To see beyond the horizon you've got to unlearn your learning
Amidst the Battlefield of Kurukshetra Brahmavidya was unveiled to Arjuna
