Losing It: And Gaining My Life Back One Pound at a Time is the best-selling autobiography of actress Valerie Bertinelli released on February 25, 2008, by Free Press.
In the memoir, Bertinelli confesses to cocaine use and infidelity. She also writes about her relationship with film director Steven Spielberg and marriage to rock star Eddie Van Halen. In addition to revealing her past indiscretions, the autobiography focuses on how she became clean, lost weight, and conquered her other personal demons.
Bertinelli promoted the book with an hour on The Oprah Winfrey Show.Losing It spent three weeks at #1 on the adult non-fiction section of the New York Times Best Seller list.
Gevurah or geburah (גבורה) is the fifth sephirah in the kabbalistic tree of life, and it is the second of the emotive attributes of the sephirot. It sits below Binah, across from Chesed, and above Hod.
Gevurah is 'the essence of judgment (DIN) and limitation, and corresponds to awe and the element of fire,'
In the Bahir it is written "And who are the Officers? We learned that there are three. Strength (Gevurah) Is the Officer of all the Holy Forms to the left of the Blessed Holy One. He is Gabriel."
Gevurah is associated with the color red.
Gevurah is the fifth of the ten Sefirot, and second of the emotive attributes in Creation, and which corresponds to the second day of creation(Zohar 2:127b). In the Bahir it says "What is the fifth (utterance)? Fifth is the great fire of God, of which it says 'let me see no more of this great fire, lest I die (Deut 18:16). This is the left hand of God".
Gevurah is understood as God's mode of punishing the wicked and judging humanity in general. It is the foundation of stringency, absolute adherence to the letter of the law, and strict meting out of justice. This stands in contrast to Chesed.
Gina Din (born 23 October 1961) is a businesswoman in East Africa, particularly Kenya, specializing in strategic communication and public relations. She worked at Barclays Bank for 14 years. Some of her clients include Safaricom, Kenya Airways, KCB and Kenya Red Cross. Din was born in Nanyuki, Kenya. and attended the London School of Journalism. She was named by the New African magazine as one of 100 Most Influential Africans in business. Din is married to Christopher Kariuki.
Dīn (دين, also anglicized as Deen) is a Persian word which is commonly associated with Zoroastrianism and Islam, but it is also used in Sikhism and Arab Christian worship. The term is loosely associated with "religion", but as used in the Qur'an, it means the way of life in which righteous Muslims are obligated to adopt in order to comply with divine law (Quran and sunnah), or Shari'a, and to the divine judgment or recompense to which all humanity must inevitably face without intercessors before God. Thus, although secular Muslims would say that their practical interpretation of Dīn conforms to "religion" in the restricted sense of something that can be carried out in separation from other areas of life, both mainstream and reformist Muslim writers take the word to mean an all-encompassing way of life carried out under the auspices of God's divine purpose as expressed in the Qur'an and hadith. As one notably progressive Muslim writer puts it, far from being a discrete aspect of life carried out in the mosque, "Islam is Dīn, a complete way of life".
Lava is the molten rock expelled by a volcano during an eruption. The resulting rock after solidification and cooling is also called lava. The molten rock is formed in the interior of some planets, including Earth, and some of their satellites. The source of the heat that melts the rock within the earth is geothermal energy. When first erupted from a volcanic vent, lava is a liquid at temperatures from 700 to 1,200 °C (1,292 to 2,192 °F).
A lava flow is a moving outpouring of lava, which is created during a non-explosive effusive eruption. When it has stopped moving, lava solidifies to form igneous rock. The term lava flow is commonly shortened to lava. Although lava can be up to 100,000 times more viscous than water, lava can flow great distances before cooling and solidifying because of its thixotropic and shear thinning properties.
Explosive eruptions produce a mixture of volcanic ash and other fragments called tephra, rather than lava flows. The word "lava" comes from Italian, and is probably derived from the Latin word labes which means a fall or slide. The first use in connection with extruded magma (molten rock below the Earth's surface) was apparently in a short account written by Francesco Serao on the eruption of Vesuvius between May 14 and June 4, 1737. Serao described "a flow of fiery lava" as an analogy to the flow of water and mud down the flanks of the volcano following heavy rain.
Lava is a 2001 British black comedy directed by Joe Tucker.
The film competed at the Alexandria International Film Festival, Filmfest Oldenburg, Austin Film Festival and Rome Independent Film Festival in 2000.
Lava is a 2014 computer-animated musical short film, produced by Pixar Animation Studios. Directed by James Ford Murphy and produced by Andrea Warren, it premiered at the Hiroshima International Animation Festival on June 14, 2014, and was theatrically released alongside Pixar's Inside Out on June 19, 2015.
The short is a musical love story that takes place over millions of years. It is set to a song written by Murphy, and was inspired by the "isolated beauty of tropical islands and the explosive allure of ocean volcanoes."
On a tropical island in the Pacific Ocean, a lonely volcano named Uku watches the wildlife creatures frolic with their mates and hopes to find one of his own. He sings a song to the ocean each day for thousands of years, gradually venting his lava and sinking into the water, but does not realize that an undersea volcano named Lele has heard him every day and has fallen in love with him. She emerges on the day that Uku becomes extinct, but her face is turned away and she cannot see him. Uku sinks fully into the ocean, heartbroken, but revives when he hears Lele singing his song to him. His fires re-ignited, he erupts back to the surface, this time right next to Lele, and the two form a single island where they are happy together.

I overheard two men in a coffee shop today,
One was explaining to the other:
The definition of insanity, is repetition of an act,
but expecting different results.
Well then, I must be clearly insane.
Because I keep repeating the same thing over and over
again, lately.
I apply for tons of jobs and never hear back, lately.
You and I fight, then we make up, then we fight, then
we make up, and neither one of us will ever give in.
And I keep playing my guitar, hoping someone, some day,
might give a shit.
Lately I am ashamed, to be acting the way I am.
Lately I am afraid, to say what I truly feel.
Lately I am upset, because I know I'm making you upset.
And lately I'm afraid I'm losing it.
I've got an idea, so why don't you open your ears? Why
don't you open your mind?
Why don't you give me a real job for once? I'll make it
worth your time.
Why don't we both learn to give a little, so neither of
us has to win, or has to lose?
And why don't I keep playing my guitar, as long as I
damn well want to?
Lately I am ashamed, to be acting the way I am.
Lately I am afraid, to say what I truly feel.
Lately I am upset, because I know I'm making you upset.
And lately I'm afraid I'm losing it.
I wonder if I'm losing it, lately. I wonder if I'm
losing it, completely.
And I feel like an idiot, because tomorrow I have an
interview for a piece-of-crap job, and I know I gotta
take it, the best I can do is hope I won't hate it. And
I feel like a moron because you guilted me into happily
agreeing to second place, because I was so damn afraid
to lose you. Lately I don't know why I'd be afraid to
lose you. With all the painful opening up I did, to
tell you all the things you do that bother me, and we
fight and make up, but then we fight again, and you
still do every one of them. And I don't even know if I
want to stay or go. And I don't even know if you want
me anymore. But at least I know, one thing I love, is
in my arms right now.
My guitar, is in my arms right now.
Lately I am ashamed, to be acting the way I am.
Lately I am afraid, to say what I truly feel.
Lately I am upset, because I know I'm making you upset.
And lately I'm afraid I'm losing it.
I wonder if I'm losing it lately. I wonder if I'm
losing it, completely.
