The Palace & Gardens of Versailles as a template for capital city design from Washington D.C through to the current day.
Washington D.C (District of Columbia) the capital city of the USA.
Canberra A.C.T (Australian Capital Territory) the capital city of Australia.
Brasilia F.D (Federal District) the capital city of Brazil.
Astana- Akmola Province, the capital city of Kazakhstan.
4 capital cities spread across the continennts, cultures and eras yet still intricately linked. All sharing the same template with the Versailles Palace and Gardens.
From city plans and architecture through to unique political structures and age old symbolism. Each of them is repeated across the very special capital city designs of Washington, Canberra, Brasilia and Astana.
Cities built upon GEOMANCY and other esoteric principles, explainable perhaps for 18th century or early 20th century Canberra however Brasilia and in particular internet age Astana do not fit the mould.Yet Norman Foster and his colleagues have designed Astana as all but carbon copy of Washington, Canberra, Brasilia and Versailles. Cities of ancient symbolism and proportion.
Versailles is clearly the inspiration for these cities, with the architects and designers of Washington very much discussing their admiration of the Versailles design. However Versailles is not the original, that extends back much further. Back to the ancient temples the Renaissance artists and architects so feverishly studied to perfect their own art and temples.
The Hermetic secrets are plain to see, architects such as Walter Burley Griffin and Oscar Niemeyer been directly linked to the City Beautiful Movement or its heirs. Including Theosophical, Freemasonic, Rosicrucian and other such societies.
A trail that leads back to the Renaissance and eruption of Hermeticism - Esoteric streams. Which themselves can be traced back through to the Middle East and Northern Africa.
It is no trifling thing that these city plans share so much. Given this "fashion" crosses so much time, culture and distant lands. Nations and eras that should share very little and yet still echo each other so clearly for more than two centuries and the continents.
More than coincidence and more than an irrelevance given so many of the wise and powerful have, and are still, investing so much into these city templates. Billions of dollars spent and still ticking just in Astana alone.

Part 1 of 6 parts of a full UK driving test video from LDC driving schools (https://www.learnerdriving.com). These videos form part of the revolutionary LD System. The LD System video programme is used in conjunction with the LDC driving skills workbook. These resources together with guidance from an expert LDC driving instructor provide one of the most effective and efficient ways to learn to drive and become a safe driver for life.
Too many driving instructors focus too much attention on telling their pupils what to do and what to think! This approach only fosters dependency, doubt and blind obedience, such that once the test is passed they do all the things they were told not to do. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly and thoroughly.
Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves - to become good decision makers.

Artisanopolis, created by Gabriel Scheare, Luke & Lourdes Crowley, and Patrick White of Roark 3D and Fortgalt as a gift to The Seasteading Institute, in conjunction with the Institute's Architectural Design Contest.
Based on the foundational vision of The Seasteading Institute and DeltaSync, these works of art constitute an attempt at communicating the essence of what the infrastructure of sea-based civilization might look like in the near future. In this age of limited governance options, we intend to suggest an alternative model that allows new communities to form beyond the limiting jurisdictions of existing nation states in order to promote freedom and competition in the marketplace.
Each floating platform can be towed via tugboat from location to location and they can interlock to form sprawling formations over the water’s surface. Ballasts are used to adjust the depth at which the platforms sit in the water and coupling latches lock them together to form larger, cohesive footprints for convenience and stability. Modeled after those found at the seaport of Brighton, England, a large modular wavebreaker surrounds the city to shelter it from rough waters and wind while energy is supplied by renewable means like photovoltaic panel arrays and wave-driven turbines. Aquaponics greenhouse domes provide locally grown food, seawater is desalinated on site to provide drinking water, organic waste is removed via tankers to an off-site composting location, and inorganic waste is recycled. With so much focus on efficiency and sustainability, The Floating City Project promises to serve as a viable template upon which other seasteading projects can be modeled in the future.

Stanley Kurtz book, Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities exposes the efforts of the administrative state, in conjunction with social equity interests, to regionalize decision making and funding for what in the past have been local government decisions. It includes requiring suburbs to take their "fair share" of all income levels. No where is this more obvious than in the San Francisco Bay Area with the One Bay Area Plan/Plan Bay Area. Regional unelected bureaucrats tell every city in the Bay Area how many housing units they MUST be prepared to accomodate. For many of the small village type towns, this will force their urbanization and destroy their uniqueness. Kurtz identifies an organization called Building One America. This is soon to be unleashed across the country if Obama gets a second term.

A city is a relatively large and permanent settlement. Although there is no agreement on how a city is distinguished from a town within general English language meanings, many cities have a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law.
For example, in the U.S. state of Massachusetts an article of incorporation approved by the local state legislature distinguishes a city government from a town. In the United Kingdom and parts of the Commonwealth of Nations, a city is traditionally a settlement with a royal charter. Historically, in Europe, a city was understood to be an urban settlement with a cathedral.
Cities generally have complex systems for sanitation, utilities, land usage, housing, and transportation. The concentration of development greatly facilitates interaction between people and businesses, benefiting both parties in the process. A big city or metropolis usually has associated suburbs and exurbs. Such cities are usually associated with metropolitan areas and urban areas, creating numerous business commuters traveling to urban centers for employment. Once a city expands far enough to reach another city, this region can be deemed a conurbation or megalopolis.

Artisanopolis, created by Gabriel Scheare, Luke & Lourdes Crowley, and Patrick White of Roark 3D and Fortgalt as a gift to The Seasteading Institute, in conjunction with the Institute's Architectural Design Contest. Based on the foundational vision of The Seasteading Institute and DeltaSync, these works of art constitute an attempt at communicating the essence of what the infrastructure of sea-based civilization might look like in the near future. In this age of limited governance options, we intend to suggest an alternative model that allows new communities to form beyond the limiting jurisdictions of existing nation states in order to promote freedom and competition in the marketplace. Each floating platform can be towed via tugboat from location to location and they can interlock to form sprawling formations over the water’s surface. Ballasts are used to adjust the depth at which the platforms sit in the water and coupling latches lock them together to form larger, cohesive footprints for convenience and stability. Modeled after those found at the seaport of Brighton, England, a large modular wavebreaker surrounds the city to shelter it from rough waters and wind while energy is supplied by renewable means like photovoltaic panel arrays and wave-driven turbines. Aquaponics greenhouse domes provide locally grown food, seawater is desalinated on site to provide drinking water, organic waste is removed via tankers to an off-site composting location, and inorganic waste is recycled. With so much focus on efficiency and sustainability, The Floating City Project promises to serve as a viable template upon which other seasteading projects can be modeled in the future. Stanley Kurtz book, Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities exposes the efforts of the administrative state, in conjunction with social equity interests, to regionalize decision making and funding for what in the past have been local government decisions. It includes requiring suburbs to take their "fair share" of all income levels. No where is this more obvious than in the San Francisco Bay Area with the One Bay Area Plan/Plan Bay Area. Regional unelected bureaucrats tell every city in the Bay Area how many housing units they MUST be prepared to accomodate. For many of the small village type towns, this will force their urbanization and destroy their uniqueness. Kurtz identifies an organization called Building One America. The Obama Administration is firmly behind this effort through the support of Valarie Jarrett and Ronald Sims. California is one of the initial test cases. This is soon to be unleashed across the country if Obama gets a second term. -

Cities built upon GEOMANCY and other esoteric principles, explainable perhaps for 18th century or early 20th century Canberra however Brasilia and in particular internet age Astana do not fit the mould.Yet Norman Foster and his colleagues have designed Astana as all but carbon copy of Washington, Canberra, Brasilia and Versailles. Cities of ancient symbolism and proportion.
Versailles is clearly the inspiration for these cities, with the architects and designers of Washington very much discussing their admiration of the Versailles design. However Versailles is not the original, that extends back much further. Back to the ancient temples the Renaissance artists and architects so feverishly studied to perfect their own art and temples.
The Hermetic secrets are plain to see, architects such as Walter Burley Griffin and Oscar Niemeyer been directly linked to the City Beautiful Movement or its heirs. Including Theosophical, Freemasonic, Rosicrucian and other such societies.
A trail that leads back to the Renaissance and eruption of Hermeticism - Esoteric streams. Which themselves can be traced back through to the Middle East and Northern Africa.
It is no trifling thing that these city plans share so much. Given this "fashion" crosses so much time, culture and distant lands. Nations and eras that should share very little and yet still echo each other so clearly for more than two centuries and the continents.

Part 1 of 6 parts of a full UK driving test video from LDC driving schools (https://www.learnerdriving.com). These videos form part of the revolutionary LD System. The LD System video programme is used in conjunction with the LDC driving skills workbook. These resources together with guidance from an expert LDC driving instructor provide one of the most effective and efficient ways to learn to drive and become a safe driver for life.
Too many driving instructors focus too much attention on telling their pupils what to do and what to think! This approach only fosters dependency, doubt and blind obedience, such that once the test is passed they do all the things they were told not to do. The LDC approach is designed to foster self-reliance, confidence and responsibility resulting in safer drivers who learn to drive far more quickly and thoroughly.
Unlike traditional instruction LDC heavily promotes student centred learning. This involves the student being encouraged to take more responsibility for their own development by using the LD System materials before and after each lesson and by using discovery learning with self determination and reflection rather than being told what to do by the instructor. In particular talk through instruction, prompted practice and long winded explanations are avoided, if at all possible - instead encouraging the student to work it out for themselves - to become good decision makers.

Artisanopolis, created by Gabriel Scheare, Luke & Lourdes Crowley, and Patrick White of Roark 3D and Fortgalt as a gift to The Seasteading Institute, in conjunction with the Institute's Architectural Design Contest.
Based on the foundational vision of The Seasteading Institute and DeltaSync, these works of art constitute an attempt at communicating the essence of what the infrastructure of sea-based civilization might look like in the near future. In this age of limited governance options, we intend to suggest an alternative model that allows new communities to form beyond the limiting jurisdictions of existing nation states in order to promote freedom and competition in the marketplace.
Each floating platform can be towed via tugboat from location to location and they can interlock to form sprawling formations over the water’s surface. Ballasts are used to adjust the depth at which the platforms sit in the water and coupling latches lock them together to form larger, cohesive footprints for convenience and stability. Modeled after those found at the seaport of Brighton, England, a large modular wavebreaker surrounds the city to shelter it from rough waters and wind while energy is supplied by renewable means like photovoltaic panel arrays and wave-driven turbines. Aquaponics greenhouse domes provide locally grown food, seawater is desalinated on site to provide drinking water, organic waste is removed via tankers to an off-site composting location, and inorganic waste is recycled. With so much focus on efficiency and sustainability, The Floating City Project promises to serve as a viable template upon which other seasteading projects can be modeled in the future.

Digitisation is the driving force behind economic growth through high-tech innovation, and as a pioneer of smart cities in the UK, Bristol Is Open is at the centre of the debate. Though the infrastructure is being rolled out in a real city, it’s experimental in nature. “A city as a laboratory where the citizens are not treated as guinea pigs is how we describe it,” said Stephen Hilton, Director of Futures at Bristol City Council.
In this episode of the UK Motherboard Show we discuss: What are the benefits of digitising our daily urban lives? Will we have to compromise our privacy or security to access them? Smart cities aren’t on their way, they’re already here — and we need to decide how we want them to shape our lives.

Stanley Kurtz book, Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities exposes the efforts of the administrative state, in conjunction with social equity interests, to regionalize decision making and funding for what in the past have been local government decisions. It includes requiring suburbs to take their "fair share" of all income levels. No where is this more obvious than in the San Francisco Bay Area with the One Bay Area Plan/Plan Bay Area. Regional unelected bureaucrats tell every city in the Bay Area how many housing units they MUST be prepared to accomodate. For many of the small village type towns, this will force their urbanization and destroy their uniqueness. Kurtz identifies an organization called Building One America. 1. The name of Kyrgyzstan comes from a word in the Kyrgyz language meaning “we are forty”, thought to be a reference to the original 40 clans which were united by Manas to form the country. The flag of Kyrgyzstan features a yellow sun with 40 uniformly spaced rays in the centre of a red background. The Kyrgyz were one of the groups who raided the borders of China and created the need for the construction of the Great Wall.
2. There are over 88 major mountain ranges in Kyrgyzstan, making up about more than 80 percent of the country’s territory. Dominated by the Tien Shan range; 94% of the country is 1,000 metres above sea level. Jengish Chokusu, located near the Chinese border is the highest mountain, with an elevation of 7,439 metres.
3. Kyrgyzstan’s Burana Tower, which historians say dates to the 10th century, was a lookout for the city of Balasagun, one of the largest medieval cities in the visually stunning Chui Valley. Fortunately Genghis Khan’s Mongols opted not to destroy the tower when they later stormed through the area.
4. Issyk Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan, also known as ' Pearl of Tien Shan', is one of the largest mountain lakes in the world. An interesting fact about Lake Issyk Kul, meaning "warm sea", is that it never ever freezes, in spite of being surrounded by snow-capped peaks at an elevation of over 1.6 km.
5. In 2005 there was a peaceful coup d'etat which brought an even more corrupt president who was overthrown in 2010 by a revolution which managed to change the constitution to make the country almost fully parliamentary. Leader of the revolution was Roza Otunbayeva. She became the first female president in the region and received multiple international awards such as International Women of Courage Award in 2011. In 2014 Kyrgyzstan together with South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Bhutan made it to the top 5 states in Asia in World Press Freedom Index compiled by Reporters Without Borders.
6. The Kyrgyz scenery can be breathtaking. And most European citizens don’t need a visa to enter. Recently Kyrgyzstan made it to Top 10 Countries to visit for 2013 by Globe Spots. There are more than 3700 mountain lakes in Kyrgyzstan.
7. The Great Silk Road was passing through territory of Kyrgyzstan. The city of Osh was an important commercial center in the 10th century as part of the Silk Road, the trade route between China and Europe.

Dominated by the Tien Shan range; 94% of the country is 1,000 metres above sea level. Jengish Chokusu, located near the Chinese border is the highest mountain, with an elevation of 7,439 metres.
3. Kyrgyzstan’s Burana Tower, which historians say dates to the 10th century, was a lookout for the city of Balasagun, one of the largest medieval cities in the visually stunning Chui Valley. Fortunately Genghis Khan’s Mongols opted not to destroy the tower when they later stormed through the area.
4. Issyk Kul Lake in Kyrgyzstan, also known as ' Pearl of Tien Shan', is one of the largest mountain lakes in the world. An interesting fact about Lake Issyk Kul, meaning "warm sea", is that it never ever freezes, in spite of being surrounded by snow-capped peaks at an elevation of over 1.6 km.
5. In 2005 there was a peaceful coup d'etat which brought an even more corrupt president who was overthrown in 2010 by a revolution which managed to change the constitution to make the country almost fully parliamentary. Leader of the revolution was Roza Otunbayeva. She became the first female president in the region and received multiple international awards such as International Women of Courage Award in 2011. In 2014 Kyrgyzstan together with South Korea, Japan, Mongolia, Bhutan made it to the top 5 states in Asia in World Press Freedom Index compiled by Reporters Without Borders.
6. The Kyrgyz scenery can be breathtaking. And most European citizens don’t need a visa to enter. Recently Kyrgyzstan made it to Top 10 Countries to visit for 2013 by Globe Spots. There are more than 3700 mountain lakes in Kyrgyzstan.
7. The Great Silk Road was passing through territory of Kyrgyzstan. The city of Osh was an important commercial center in the 10th century as part of the Silk Road, the trade route between China and Europe.

Jen is a cities geek, a long-time strategy consultant, the founding member of the Global Cities practice within Accenture. She invests her time in understanding what makes cities tick and how new technologies, particularly big data and analytics, can help cities to overcome their many challenges, cultivate their digital economy and become vibrant and sustainable places to live, work and play.
Jen works with leading cities on digital transformation. She has completed several digital city masterplans and collaborated on projects with the Professor Ratti of MIT's Senseable Cities Lab. In 20011, she co-authored “Information Marketplaces: The New Economics of Cities”. She has supported the World Economic Forum’s, Future of Urban Development programme and the British Standards Institute’s development of a Smart City Framework.
