I'm on Your Side

I'm on Your Side is the fourth album by Jennifer Holliday, released in 1991. The song "I'm on Your Side", a cover version of an Angela Bofill hit, was released as a single, peaking at #10 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. The second single, "Love Stories" peaked at #29 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks. Clive Davis was the executive producer.

Song information

"I'm on Your Side" is notable for being one of only a few Divinyls songs not written by Christina Amphlett and Mark McEntee. Instead it was written by famed songwriting duo Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly, who had both co-written Divinyls smash hit "I Touch Myself".

"I'm on Your Side" peaked at number ninety-two on the Australian ARIA Singles Chart.

Tigers Jaw

Tigers Jaw is an American rock band from Scranton, Pennsylvania, formed in 2005. They have released a 7" vinyl, "Spirit Desire", in 2009, on Tiny Engines. On March 21, 2013, Tigers Jaw announced that they will be going on hiatus. However, on August 6, 2013, Run for Cover Records posted that the band never officially stated that they were going to break up. The band would still be making music. Since, they have recorded a new album with all of the original members entitled Charmer which was released in June 2014.

Early years and Tigers Jaw (2006–12)

The band's name is a reference to a song by lo-fi band The Microphones. They also have a number of songs whose titles reference songs by the band.

AbsolutePunk gave their self-titled album a generally positive review, noting that "Tigers Jaw is fueled by emotionally-driven lyrics brought to life by vocalist Adam McIlwee, whose voice is one of those that reveal passion while at the same time giving the impression that he's barely trying. Aforementioned opener "The Sun" is one of the better tracks on the album, offering up a well-organized mix of Tigers Jaw's two personas."

A Rocket to the Moon

A Rocket to the Moon (commonly abbreviated as ARTTM) was an American rock band formed during 2006 in Braintree, Massachusetts, by Nick Santino, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist. Guitarist and backup vocalist Justin Richards (also of Brighten), bassist and backup vocalist Eric Halvorsen, and drummer Andrew Cook eventually joined the band, forming the final member lineup. The band has two albums through Fueled by Ramen. Their debut, On Your Side, was released on October 13, 2009. Wild & Free was released on March 26, 2013.

History

Nick Santino started A Rocket to the Moon in the summer of 2006 as a musical experiment. He formerly fronted the local bands The Bad Year and The Midway Class.

Santino assembled a band of musicians in early 2008 with the help of The Maine prior to A Rocket to the Moon's first major festival appearance, at The Bamboozle. They then appeared on the July 10, 2008 episode of Total Request Live, performing the song "Dakota". This performance received notoriety from a lot of people, Pete Wentz in particular. Contrary to popular belief, A Rocket to the Moon was never signed to Decaydance Records by Pete Wentz, bassist of Fall Out Boy. Wentz had shown interest in signing the band and wanted to do a Fueled by Ramen/Decaydance split but the Decaydance side of the deal never worked out for unknown reasons. An official announcement of the signing to Fueled by Ramen was made in August 2008. Separate tours supporting both The Cab and A Cursive Memory followed in the fall of 2008. They also toured with Cute Is What We Aim For, Secondhand Serenade, and Automatic Loveletter. On October 14, 2008 the band released their EP Greetings From..., produced by Matt Grabe, featuring the singles "Dakota" and "If Only They Knew". The record reached No. 21 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart.

On Your Side (Magnet album)

On Your Side is Magnet's second album, first released in Norway in June 2003. It contains a cover of Bob Dylan's Lay Lady Lay featuring Gemma Hayes, which was featured in the 2005 film Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

On Your Side is Gerald Walker's third official mixtape and his first collaborative release with Wiz Khalifa's and Taylor Gang Records producer, Cardo.

Background

The mixtape includes 14 original tracks and is entirely produced by Cardo & Sledgren of the Taylor Gang. Features and appearances included rappers Trae The Truth, Rockie Fresh, EL Prez and Bryant Stewart.On Your Side was created as an EP. Later the artist decided to release it as a free mixtape. On April 1, the first song in support of On Your Side titled "We've Got a Situation on our Hands" was leaked onto the internet. However, the lead single "We Don't Give a F**K" wasn't leaked until April 8 on XXL Magazine. The final single titled "Money On The Dresser" which features, Trae the Truth, was leaked May 5, 2011. The mixtape was produced by Real Monstas Music Group and released on One Step at a Time Music on May 6, 2011 via Twitter.

A remix of the song leaked on the internet on February 3, 2012. The song features an updated but similar instrumentals. It features artists Big K.R.I.T., Mark Morrison, Jadakiss, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, B.o.B, Tyga, Gudda Gudda and Bun B. The remix samples the song "Return of the Mack" by Mark Morrison. A video was released in May 2012 for the remix. It featured cameos from many rappers including T.I., Wiz Khalifa, Juelz Santana, Ludacris, Meek Mill, Future, Ace Hood, DJ Drama, Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo, Wale, Paul Wall, Z-Ro, Styles P, Cee-Lo Green, Iggy Azalea, 2 Chainz and many others. The record was cited by media as one of the biggest collaborations ever, and the biggest rap video of 2012. MTV's RapFix announced that the video was MTV’s Jam of the Week on the week it was released.
