Cementos Argos, con una gran trayectoria internacional y paradigma de la innovación abierta en Colombia, prevé que en 2015 el 10% de sus ingresos procedan de nuevos productos "diferenciados y sostenibles".
Así lo expresó en una entrevista a Colombia.inn, agencia operada por Efe, su vicepresidente de Innovación, Camilo Restrepo, quien adelantó que Argos construirá en 2014 un gran centro de innovación de 3.500 metros cuadrados en la Universidad Eafit de Medellín, ciudad sede del emporio empresarial.
Ese modelo que comprende desde la oferta de soluciones a la minería hasta variaciones novedosas del concreto para construcción, sustenta hoy el 7% de los ingresos de Argos, uno de los jugadores más importantes del cemento y el concreto en el Caribe, Centroamérica, Estados Unidos y Colombia.
"Hoy nosotros entendemos el cemento no como un comoditie sino como un producto de diferenciación y valor agregado", apuntó Restrepo.
Y por ello es que con una inversión de más de 23.000 millones de pesos (12,2 millones de dólares) y un equipamiento de alta tecnología valorado en otros 7.000 millones de pesos (3,7 millones de dólares), este gigante que está a punto de cumplir 80 años de vida concentrará en su nuevo centro los proyectos de investigación y allí aplicará las soluciones de innovación abierta.
"Es una apuesta que hace Argos al futuro de su crecimiento", argumentó Restrepo, consciente de que el desarrollo y la investigación que se fragüen en Medellín serán un aporte a su negocio mundial.

Argos (Greek: Ἄργος, Árgos, [ˈarɣos]) is a city and a former municipality in Argolis, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Argos-Mykines, of which it is a municipal unit. It is 11 kilometres from Nafplion, which was its historic harbour. A settlement of great antiquity, Argos has been continuously inhabited for the past 7,000 years, making it one of the oldest cities in Greece and Europe. The city is a member of the Most Ancient European Towns Network. At a strategic location on the fertile plain of Argolis, Argos was a major stronghold during the Mycenaean era. In classical times Argos was a powerful rival of Sparta for dominance over the Peloponnese, but was eventually shunned by other Greek city-states after remaining neutral during the Greco-Persian Wars. Numerous ancient monuments can be found in the city today, the most famous of which is the renowned Heraion of Argos, though agriculture (particularly citrus production) is the mainstay of the local economy.

Ese modelo que comprende desde la oferta de soluciones a la minería hasta variaciones novedosas del concreto para construcción, sustenta hoy el 7% de los ingresos de Argos, uno de los jugadores más importantes del cemento y el concreto en el Caribe, Centroamérica, Estados Unidos y Colombia.
"Hoy nosotros entendemos el cemento no como un comoditie sino como un producto de diferenciación y valor agregado", apuntó Restrepo.
Y por ello es que con una inversión de más de 23.000 millones de pesos (12,2 millones de dólares) y un equipamiento de alta tecnología valorado en otros 7.000 millones de pesos (3,7 millones de dólares), este gigante que está a punto de cumplir 80 años de vida concentrará en su nuevo centro los proyectos de investigación y allí aplicará las soluciones de innovación abierta.
"Es una apuesta que hace Argos al futuro de su crecimiento", argumentó Restrepo, consciente de que el desarrollo y la investigación que se fragüen en Medellín serán un aporte a su negocio mundial.
