Out for a ride on a very warm (102 F) Saturday afternoon. In full boots and leathers... It's been years since I've ventured out to this road in the tri-valley area. Partially 'cause its so damn hot compared to riding in the peninsula hills. But this road proved to be increasingly desolate and devoid of most signs of human life, so I gave it the beans! Pardon my wonky lines in a few places, I'm rusty and not wanting to push my luck. Shot in 1080p/60 on a GoPro Hero3. Uncompressed to Cineform HQ AVI, edited with Premiere Elements 10 and synced to external audio. Uploaded a 1080p/60 file to Youtube. Audio is captured via a Zoom H1 personal audio recorder, with a AKG-D112 microphone connected to its line in. Input volume 60, recorded at 48kHz/24-bit uncompressed stereo WAV. I should have gone with 50-55 input volume though; there's some clipping still. The complete microphone setup is stored in my camelback i'm wearing. The microphone itself is stored in one of the lower-corner pockets of the backpack, pointed at the exhaust. The microphone is completely closed up in the pocket though. This filters out much of the high frequency audio, which I later improve with EQ in Adobe Audition CS6. Most of the wind noise is avoided because my small camelback is essentially shielded from the wind by my torso, and sits in a calm/quieter pocket of air until I'm well into the triple digits. I synchronize the GoPro audio with the external audio in Premiere Elements, usually using a blip of the throttle, visible on the audio graph on both audio channels.
