Revò (Ladin: Rvòu, German: Nußdorf am Nonsberg) is a comune (municipality) in Trentino in the northern Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, located about 35 kilometres (22 mi) north of Trento.
Revò is situated on a grassy plain in the Val di Non, overlooking Lake Santa Giustina, and had already been settled by the 3rd century BC. It is backed by Monte Ozol, in the Maddalene mountain range, which is topped by an iron-age hill fort. The parish church of Santo Stefano dates back to at least 1128 AD and has a fine spire. The church of St Mary dates from the 18th century and has an octagonal spire. Other notable buildings include the Villa Campia-Maffei and the Casa Thun. Nearby, the River Sass has carved a narrow but deep canyon through the rock and visitors can walk along the trails and walkways that traverse the vertical-sided gorge in the "Parco Fluviale Novella".
The municipality of Revò contains the frazione (subdivision) Tregiovo. Revò borders the following municipalities: Cagnò, Cles, Cloz, Romallo, Rumo, Sanzeno, and Laurein.
Rev is a 7% ABV vodka-based cola beverage (alcopop), infused with guarana. Rev is manufactured by FBM Distilleries in Brampton, Ontario, Canada and distributed exclusively within the country under license from Bacardi. It is currently available in blue as Rev Energy and Rev Low. Purple, red, and green have been discontinued. The drink is sold in packs of four 330 mL bottles and single 473 mL bottles.
Rev was introduced in April, 2000, as a beverage marketed towards rave and nightclub culture.
Rev is sold in tall slender plastic bottles which can be resealed.
Rev when combined with Jägermeister makes a drink called a "Rev-Bomb", a variation of a Jägerbomb. This drink is a “depth charge” or “bomb shot”, which refers to cocktails that are made by dropping a shot glass filled with liquor into another drink.
In Southern Saskatchewan, the term "Rev-Bomb" is used to describe the act of piercing the bottom of the bottle with a knife, covering the hole, then opening the top and chugging the entirety of the drink. This is a form of shotgunning.
Rev is a transactivating protein that is essential to the regulation of HIV-1 protein expression. A nuclear localization signal is encoded in the rev gene, which allows the Rev protein to be localized to the nucleus, where it is involved in the export of unspliced and incompletely spliced mRNAs. In the absence of Rev, mRNAs of the HIV-1 late (structural) genes are retained in the nucleus, preventing their translation.
A novel protein was found to be involved in the translation of gag and env mRNA. The unknown protein functioned by removing repression of regulatory sequences and was named Art (anti-repression transactivator). Later studies suggested that the protein was involved in regulation of the RNA splicing mechanism. Therefore, the name of the protein was modified from Art to Trs (transregulator of splicing). The most recent studies have shown that the protein has multiple functions in the regulation of HIV-1 proteins, and its name has been changed to Rev (regulator of expression of virion proteins), which more generally describes its function.
Dual (pronounced /duːˈɑːl/ or /-ˈæl/) is a brand name of audio and video electronics.
In 1907, brothers Christian and Joseph Steidinger began manufacturing clockwork and gramophone parts in the Black Forest town of St. Georgen. In 1927, Gebrüder Steidinger (Steidinger Bros.) adopted the name Dual in reference to the dual-mode power supplies it pioneered. The power supplies allowed gramophones to be powered from mains electricity or with a wind-up mechanism. Soon thereafter, Dual began producing turntables of its own.
After World War II, Dual became the biggest manufacturer of turntables in Europe, with more than 3,000 employees working in several factories. Throughout the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, Dual introduced audio cassette players, VCRs, CD players, and other consumer electronics.
But when Japanese consumer electronics started entering European markets in the 1970s on a large scale, Dual as most other traditional German manufacturers underwent a big crisis: Japanese products usually offered more features at a cheaper price in a much more modern package. Dual went bankrupt in 1982, and was sold to French electronic manufacturer Thomson SA. In 1988, Thomson sold Dual to German manufacturer Schneider Rundfunkwerke AG.
In electrical engineering, electrical terms are associated into pairs called duals. A dual of a relationship is formed by interchanging voltage and current in an expression. The dual expression thus produced is of the same form, and the reason that the dual is always a valid statement can be traced to the duality of electricity and magnetism.
Here is a partial list of electrical dualities:
The use of duality in circuit theory is due to Alexander Russell who published his ideas in 1904.
Dual is an album by four acclaimed Irish and Scottish musicians: Éamonn Doorley, Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (both prominently of Danú), Julie Fowlis and Ross Martin.
The artists released the album in October 2008 on their official websites. The album was planned to project the similarities and differences between the Irish and Scottish Gaelic song traditions. The album features Scottish waulking songs such as Alasdair Mhic Cholla Ghasda, and oddly an Irish Gaelic equivalent to the Gaidhlig Puirt a Beul. The songs are set in a traditional/folk accompaniment, very different from the recorded versions of a few of the songs by the likes of Capercaillie and Clannad.
The four musicians have been playing music together since a sing-song at the Tønder Festival in 2003. The four-piece has toured together twice a year both in Ireland and Scotland. Julie and Muireann have had very similar upbringings and found their music and languages shared many common threads. Hence the name, Dual, which means "to braid, to twine, inheritance or native" in both Irish Gaelic and Scottish Gaelic. The album features songs in Irish and Scots-Gaelic, and tunes from both cultures.
A battle or battaile was a medieval military formation, analogous and ancestral to the modern term battalion. In late medieval warfare, field armies were often drawn up into three main battles, also called guards: the vanguard, the middle guard, and the rearguard, often abbreviated to simply the van, middle, and rear. These terms imply, correctly, that the van preceded the middle, which in turn preceded the rear, into battle if the battles were arranged sequentially as a column. If arranged abreast, the van was on the right and the rear the left.
REV is a Canadian vodka-based cola beverage infused with Guarana & Ginseng that was originally released back in 2000. I fondly remember drinking it back then and I assumed it went away forever. Well its back, but is it as good as I remember? Watch and find out! As always zero production value and quality control guaranteed!
