The United States of America (USA), commonly referred to as the United States (U.S.) or America, is a federal republic composed of 50 states, a federal district, five major territories and various possessions. The 48 contiguous states and Washington, D.C., are in central North America between Canada and Mexico. The state of Alaska is in the northwestern part of North America and the state of Hawaii is an archipelago in the mid-Pacific. The territories are scattered about the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. At 3.8 million square miles (9.842 million km2) and with over 320 million people, the country is the world's third or fourth-largest by total area and the third most populous. It is one of the world's most ethnically diverse and multicultural nations, the product of large-scale immigration from many countries. The geography and climate of the United States are also extremely diverse, and the country is home to a wide variety of wildlife.
The Sonoran Desert is a North American desert which covers large parts of the Southwestern United States in Arizona and California, and of Northwestern Mexico in Sonora, Baja California and Baja California Sur. It is the hottest desert in North America, with an area of 260,000 square kilometers (100,000 sq mi). The western portion of the United States–Mexico border passes through the Sonoran Desert.
In phytogeography, the Sonoran Desert is within the Sonoran Floristic Province of the Madrean Region in southwestern North America, part of the Holarctic Kingdom of the northern Western Hemisphere. The desert contains a variety of unique and endemic plants and animals, such as the Saguaro (Carnegiea gigantea) and Organ Pipe cactus (Stenocereus thurberi).
The Sonoran desert wraps around the northern end of the Gulf of California, from Baja California Sur (El Vizcaíno Biosphere Reserve in central and Pacific west coast, Central Gulf Coast subregion on east to southern tip), north through much of Baja California, excluding the central northwest mountains and Pacific west coast, through southeastern California and southwestern and southern Arizona to western and central parts of Sonora.

M14 rifle, officially the United States Rifle, 7.62 mm, M14] is an selective fire automatic rifle that fires 7.62×51mm NATO (.308 Winchester) ammunition. It was the standard issue U.S. rifle from 1959 to 1970.[6] The M14 was used for U.S. Army, Coast Guard and Marine Corps basic and advanced individual training, and was the standard issue infantry rifle for U.S. military personnel in the Contiguous United States, Europe, and South Korea, until it was replaced by the M16 rifle, in 1970. The rifle remains in limited front line service within all branches of the U.S. military Original Video by: US Army
The M14 is one of the most recognizable US military service rifles despite being one of the shortest serving service rifles in US history. It has been pressed back into service in the last decade or so due to a need for a .308 rifle in the field. Fulton Armory makes one of the best, if not the best, reproductions of this classic American service rifle. A cinder block wall at 250 yards might not be adequate cover from the 7.62X51 NATO round and that wonderful rifle, the M1-A / M14. My goal was to put rounds all over the wall; you know, "spread the wealth around." Shooting off-hand, that was bound to happen anyway, of course. :-) -------------------- PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION---------------------We appreciate the INCREDIBLE support we get from BUD’s GUN SHOP, FEDERAL PREMIUM, and SONORAN DESERT INSTITUTE. The M14 rifle, formally the United States Rifle, Caliber 7.62 mm, M14, is an American selective fire battle rifle firing 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition. Although largely superseded in military use by the M16 rifle, it remains in limited front line service with the United States Army, Marine Corps, and Navy. The M14 also provides the basis for the M21 and M25 sniper rifles.
Springfield Armory Inc, released a semi-automatic civilian legal version of the classic M14 service rifle in 1974 using G.I surplus parts. Since then it has been a popular rifle, occupying practical, competitive, hunting, and historical collecting venues throughout the shooting community. It is virtually identical to the M14 it is based on, apart from the select-fire capability. Usually sold with a ten round magazine, the older 20 round and even 25 round magazines can be fitted to the rifle, although we see in this video that the 25 round magazines aren't very reliable at all.
