They hoped to convince Moore, who serves as chair of the City Council's housing committee, to bring to a vote an ordinance meant to provide greater oversight and accountability to the Chicago Housing Authority. In the video, Moore can be heard telling activists, "Since you’ve chosen my home to do your demonstration. . . that ordinance is never going to come out of my committee as long as I’m chair."
