KLM Martinair Cargo Boeing 747-400ERF.
Route was from Abu Dhabi to Amsterdam arriving just before sunset. The video starts with the initial descent positioning us on left base to intercept the ILS (instrument landing system) for a landing on runway 18R (Polderbaan). Taxiing back is to the cargo ramp on Schiphol East.

Vliegtuigen landen bij zware storm op Schiphol. Gevaarlijk om te landen. Menig doorstart gezien vandaag. Loodzware omstandigheden om te landen. Met name PH-BVB van KLM had erg veel moeite met de landing. Helaas vanuit de auto moeten filmen, omdat het buiten echt slecht weer was.

Dat betekent dat passagiers die naar landen buiten het Schengen-gebied vertrekken, straks op een centrale plek worden gescreend en niet langer – zoals voorheen – vlak voor het boarden aan de gate. Vliegtuigen landen bij zware storm op Schiphol. Gevaarlijk om te landen. Menig doorstart gezien vandaag. Loodzware omstandigheden om te landen. In de nacht van 2 op 3 juni gaat Schiphol over op centrale security. Dat betekent dat passagiers die naar landen buiten het Schengen-gebied vertrekken, straks op een centrale plek worden gescreend en niet langer – zoals voorheen – vlak voor het boarden aan de gate. Transferpassagiers die op Schiphol nog een securitycheck moeten ondergaan worden in de nieuwe situatie via een aparte route naar een centrale securitylocatie geleid. When you travel to Amsterdam by air, you will arrive at Schiphol airport, which is outside the city. You can travel to Amsterdam Central Station very easily by train; this takes about 15 minutes. You can walk straight to the train station from the arrival hall, through the shopping center Schiphol Plaza. You can buy train tickets from the yellow ticket machines or at the ticket offices, both located close to the platforms. Watch the signs above the stairways to the platforms to see which trains go to Amsterdam Central Station.

Currently under construction, Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is a hotel with 433 guest rooms and a meeting centre. Schiphol's new landmark has a cubic form that is playfully rotated and a diamond patterned facade.
The facade pattern unites the three elements of the complex – plinth, tower with hotel rooms, Schiphol passageway – and is composed 11,000 m2 of prefabricated curved glass and composite panels. The covered walkway connects the hotel to the airport.
The heart of the hotel is a spacious 42-metre high lobby, where daylight floods in through the glass roof. All the white elements, especially the light horizontal balustrades, bounce daylight deep into the building. The guest rooms surround the atrium. Wooden and brass details add a luxurious touch, while the light creates an inviting atmosphere.

Today the view across the main square and royal castle gives little hint that the city is supported by stakes and is the largest lakeland village in the world. In a huge open-air area between Amsterdam and Schiphol Airport, every ten years an international exhibition of garden architecture is held, the Floriade. It features hundreds of blossoming show gardens that are admired by millions of visitors from all over the world. In the 16th century life on the ocean wave brought glorious times for the city of Edam that is now world famous for its cheese of the same name. More than thirty shipyards once prospered in the city and the fleet of legendary Dutch hero, Michiel De Ruyter, was built there. Mijmegen lies proudly on the banks of the River Waal. The origins of Holland’s oldest city are to be found in the Roman settlement of Noviomagum. The triangular market square of this university and Hanseatic town is dominated by the Waag House, a red-bricked building of Renaissance design. The Molens Van Kinderdijk is a fascinating landscape of windmills and a Unesco World Heritage Sight. Its nineteen windmills are world famous and of course typical of Holland. The fascination of old cities, dreamy fairytale-like villages, paintings by some of the world’s greatest artists, bicycles and windmill: Holland is very much a land of the familiar and also the exotic.

In 1567, the much-traveled Italian, Lodovico Guicciardini, referred to Amsterdam as 'The Venice of the North'. Today, the view across the main square and royal castle gives little hint that the city is supported by stakes and that Amsterdam is the largest lakeland village in the world.
The bicycle is one of the city's main features. Parking spaces have been designed specially for this mode of transport and it shows that even in a large city, there is an alternative way of getting about.
In the city centre, there are nearly 7,000 protected houses and warehouses, most of which date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The 300 year old Magere Brug is of wood construction and is one of the most beautiful drawbridges in the world.
The Bloemenmarkt has been in existence since the 17th century and in bygone days, fresh flowers were delivered by boat and sold on board. Here a great variety of colorful tulips and bulbs is offered for sale, as well as many exotic plants and seeds.
New Church is almost 600 years old but due to it's lack of worshippers, it is now used as a venue for exhibitions and concerts which fund its continued maintenance. Built around 1300 A.D., Old Church is the oldest religious building in the city. During the Middle Ages, it served as a refuge for vagrants but today it is surrounded by a sex and entertainment district.
In 1682, the city fathers decided to create a leisure area east of the city, in the centre of which the Artis Zoo was subsequently established, the oldest zoo on the European continent.
Amsterdam possesses an inescapable charm that is adored by both aged hippies and trendy teenagers alike. It is Europe's irresistible 'Capital of Cool'!
