I need to show you my travel to Luxor Las Vegas with my hubby of 23 years, Joe and our 12 year old daughter, Erika. Bring a 12 years of age to Vegas you ask ?! YES! There is a lot for households to do in Luxor Las Vegas that also Erika explained, on day 2, that there was additional to do after that Disney World and I have to agree.
Luxor Las Vegas
We made it to the Luxor Las Vegas and our spa set was all set ... on the 19th floor we had a terrific space with a whirlpool tub and a smaller sized area off the bed room that Erika promptly claimed. Xtreme Magic Dirk Arthur Luxor Las Vegas The program was great ... and we had fantastic seats ... it featured tigers and various other huge and uncommon cats so we all actually liked that ... we went back to the hotel where Joe and Erika invested some time at the swimming pool ... I relaxed (well it IS my trip also!). (Quiznos) Erika remained in the space and enjoyed TELEVISION while Joe and I played some slots ... No I didn't succeed ... however Joe entered in to a couple of casino poker events with out our travel and came in 2nd in one and 1st in one more so he was satisfied!
Luxor Las Vegas
Day 2 I sent out Joe and Erika down the strip to Dennys while I waited in line to acquire tickets for Mom Mia, Hoover Dam and the Titanic artifacts display at the Trop. Mamma Mia Luxor Las Vegas We had a call from our next-door neighbors who happened to be in community for a wedding celebration and so we made plans to talk to them when we returned from the Hoover Dam trip on the next day. We placed Erika to bed and Joe played some online poker and I did poorly on the slots yet made my cash last ... still its fun with all the glitz and prestige!

Day 3 Thursday we got up early because I had a telephone call from some reporter ... SCF still is noted available so I get these calls occasionally ... anyway. it helped us get a move on since we needed to be at our meeting place at 8 am for the Hoover Dam VIP Tour. We were on time and actually it was a wonderful thing for Erika to see ... Agency of Recovery: Lower Colorado Region - Hoover Dam Very instructional. We likewise quit at a small museum and had lunch (included) and went to Ethel M's delicious chocolate manufacturing facility trip ... with free examples ... always an advantage. we got some ice cream there as well ... obviously it was an excellent method to spend a day in Vegas ... plus you will get to see just how the people truly lived there ... and the amount of things cost etc. When we got back to the hotel Luxor Las vegas we made plans for our Seat neighbors to choose us all up and bring us to their time share. Erika babysat their little 3 year old while the 4 adults headed out to the Hard Rock Casino for dinner ... we all had the $10 special of prime rib dinner at the Blessed 7's which was just OKAY and afterwards we went back and Erika went out with our next-door neighbors while Joe and I played at the Luxor Las Vegas. (Kid, it seems like we did a bunch of wagering !! LOL) Erika returned around 12:30 AM after showing the 3 J's the conservatory at the Bellagio and having dessert out ($9.00 Cheese Birthday cake any individual ?!?!) Anyway ... Erika made money on HER getaway! LOL
Luxor Las Vegas
Day 4 and the final day our massive breakfast at the hotel Luxor Las Vegas was comp'ed which was great and we didn't have to inspect out till twelve noon ... so around that time we dropped our luggage off with the Bell service and went over to the Tropicana to see the Titanic display. Titanic Picture Gallery Erika liked it ... and after that we headed back to our hotel Luxor Las Vegas to acquire prepared to meet the shuttle bus. I had some complimentary casino site cash I needed to make use of up so Joe took Erika to get some last souvenirs and I played about 1/2 hour of Live roulette ... and won ... which is wonderful to walk away from there with SOME money back in your pocket.

That's the trip !! ... I am sure I excluded some things ... the weather was FANTASTIC the entire time we existed ... the smoking was rather massive ... among things I dislike about casino sites ... and Erika was miffed that she couldn't "press a button" or enjoy individuals playing slots because she was under 21 ... Which's merely the idea of the ice burg. If you are thinking of a household holiday a couple of days in Vegas possibly your best bet ... I do not advise it for the really young ... possibly 8 and up for some of the cool shows ... Blue Guy Group is there and there are plenty of miracle and variety shows ... as well as secret gardens and meals galore!

History
Ground was broken for the Luxor in April 1991 and the resort officially opened eighteen months later at 4 AM on October 15, 1993, to a crowd of 10,000 people. When it opened, the pyramid, which cost $375 million to build, was the tallest building on the strip and contained 2,526 rooms and a 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m2) casino. The resort was financed by “petty cash” earned from other Circus Circus Enterprises properties and did not include any outside financial investors. The hotel's pyramid is similar in size to the Red Pyramid and Bent Pyramid of Egypt.

Thousands of tourists from all around the world arrive annually to visit these monuments, contributing greatly to the economy of the modern city.

Hoover Dam
Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression and was dedicated on September 30, 1935, by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Its construction was the result of a massive effort involving thousands of workers, and cost over one hundred lives. The dam was controversially named after President Herbert Hoover.
Since about 1900, the Black Canyon and nearby Boulder Canyon had been investigated for their potential to support a dam that would control floods, provide irrigation water and produce hydroelectric power. In 1928, Congress authorized the project. The winning bid to build the dam was submitted by a consortium called Six Companies, Inc., which began construction on the dam in early 1931. Such a large concrete structure had never been built before, and some of the techniques were unproven. The torrid summer weather and lack of facilities near the site also presented difficulties. Nevertheless, Six Companies turned over the dam to the federal government on March 1, 1936, more than two years ahead of schedule.

I need to show you my travel to Luxor Las Vegas with my hubby of 23 years, Joe and our 12 year old daughter, Erika. Bring a 12 years of age to Vegas you ask ?! YES! There is a lot for households to do in Luxor Las Vegas that also Erika explained, on day 2, that there was additional to do after that Disney World and I have to agree.

We made it to the Luxor Las Vegas and our spa set was all set ... on the 19th floor we had a terrific space with a whirlpool tub and a smaller sized area off the bed room that Erika promptly claimed. Xtreme Magic Dirk Arthur Luxor Las Vegas The program was great ... and we had fantastic seats ... it featured tigers and various other huge and uncommon cats so we all actually liked that ... we went back to the hotel where Joe and Erika invested some time at the swimming pool ... I relaxed (well it IS my trip also!). (Quiznos) Erika remained in the space and enjoyed TELEVISION while Joe and I played some slots ... No I didn't succeed ... however Joe entered in to a couple of casino poker events with out our travel and came in 2nd in one and 1st in one more so he was satisfied!

Day 2 I sent out Joe and Erika down the strip to Dennys while I waited in line to acquire tickets for Mom Mia, Hoover Dam and the Titanic artifacts display at the Trop. Mamma Mia Luxor Las Vegas We had a call from our next-door neighbors who happened to be in community for a wedding celebration and so we made plans to talk to them when we returned from the Hoover Dam trip on the next day. We placed Erika to bed and Joe played some online poker and I did poorly on the slots yet made my cash last ... still its fun with all the glitz and prestige!

Day 3 Thursday we got up early because I had a telephone call from some reporter ... SCF still is noted available so I get these calls occasionally ... anyway. it helped us get a move on since we needed to be at our meeting place at 8 am for the Hoover Dam VIP Tour. We were on time and actually it was a wonderful thing for Erika to see ... Agency of Recovery: Lower Colorado Region - Hoover Dam Very instructional. We likewise quit at a small museum and had lunch (included) and went to Ethel M's delicious chocolate manufacturing facility trip ... with free examples ... always an advantage. we got some ice cream there as well ... obviously it was an excellent method to spend a day in Vegas ... plus you will get to see just how the people truly lived there ... and the amount of things cost etc. When we got back to the hotel Luxor Las vegas we made plans for our Seat neighbors to choose us all up and bring us to their time share. Erika babysat their little 3 year old while the 4 adults headed out to the Hard Rock Casino for dinner ... we all had the $10 special of prime rib dinner at the Blessed 7's which was just OKAY and afterwards we went back and Erika went out with our next-door neighbors while Joe and I played at the Luxor Las Vegas. (Kid, it seems like we did a bunch of wagering !! LOL) Erika returned around 12:30 AM after showing the 3 J's the conservatory at the Bellagio and having dessert out ($9.00 Cheese Birthday cake any individual ?!?!) Anyway ... Erika made money on HER getaway! LOL

Day 4 and the final day our massive breakfast at the hotel Luxor Las Vegas was comp'ed which was great and we didn't have to inspect out till twelve noon ... so around that time we dropped our luggage off with the Bell service and went over to the Tropicana to see the Titanic display. Titanic Picture Gallery Erika liked it ... and after that we headed back to our hotel Luxor Las Vegas to acquire prepared to meet the shuttle bus. I had some complimentary casino site cash I needed to make use of up so Joe took Erika to get some last souvenirs and I played about 1/2 hour of Live roulette ... and won ... which is wonderful to walk away from there with SOME money back in your pocket.

That's the trip !! ... I am sure I excluded some things ... the weather was FANTASTIC the entire time we existed ... the smoking was rather massive ... among things I dislike about casino sites ... and Erika was miffed that she couldn't "press a button" or enjoy individuals playing slots because she was under 21 ... Which's merely the idea of the ice burg. If you are thinking of a household holiday a couple of days in Vegas possibly your best bet ... I do not advise it for the really young ... possibly 8 and up for some of the cool shows ... Blue Guy Group is there and there are plenty of miracle and variety shows ... as well as secret gardens and meals galore!

Luxor Las Vegas is an luxury Hotel & Casino arranged on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The 30-story inn, possessed and worked by MGM Resorts International, has a 120,000-square-foot (11,000 m2) gambling club with more than 2,000 opening machines and 87 table amusements.
Because of the 2008 to 2009 remodel, it has another, profoundly modernized outline and contains an aggregate of 4,407 rooms, including 442 suites, coating the inside dividers of a pyramid-molded tower and inside later twin 22-story ziggurat towers.
The inn is named after the city of Luxor (old Thebes) in Egypt. Luxor is the 6th biggest inn in Las Vegas and the ninth-biggest on the planet. Starting at 2010, the Luxor has a 4 Key rating from the Green Key Eco-Rating Program, which assesses "feasible" inn operations.
Luxor is situated on the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip. The resort is flanked by the Mandalay Bay toward the south and by the Excalibur toward the north; every one of the three are associated by free express and neighborhood cable cars. Every one of the three properties were worked by Circus Enterprises, which in 1999 progressed toward becoming Mandalay Resort Group, which was then prevailing by MGM Mirage in April 2005 (now named MGM Resorts International).

Nigh life, music, gambling, entertainment, dancing, walking the Strip and shows in the evening. Driving luxury cars, helicopter tours, exploring the Grand Canyon and marveling at Red Rock Canyon by day. Las Vegas was full of surprises. The following is a Las Vegas travel guide to experience the most out of your vacation to Sin City. It is the best things to do on Las Vegas Strip along with day excursions outside of the city limits. As they say, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
So we aren't in Canada no more! This weekend we actually escaped to Las Vegas so we are going to be spending three days just enjoying winter in the desert and doing cool stuff. And today we're walking down the strip and we're going to show you some of the sights. And the best part - no winter parka right now.
Enough walking for a while. I'm starving. Let's get some dinner. We're going to Shake Shack.
Tell, me. Tell, me! You know what? Nobody does fast food like Americans. They've got it down to a science. It's absolutely unhealthy but so delicious.
We're going to head back to the hotel and get ready for a show. We're going to be seeing the Michael Jackson Show at the Mandalay Bay but unfortunately we can't bring any cameras in there so we won' t be able to show you that but maybe after the show we'll hit the town again and show you the sights. Not maybe! Definitely!
It is so sad to be leaving but it is our last night in Las Vegas so we're going to go out and try and see as much as we can this evening. Let's go wild. Let's gamble.
It is never ending. The lights. The noise. The ding ding ding ding. This is what a casino sounds like twenty-four seven. We see people gambling here at like five in the morning when we get up for breakfast.
What would a trip to Vegas be like without a little gambling? Sam, even looks like an old gambler today with that hat. Oh, I do. Guess what? We're such cheapskates we're playing with pennies. We're going to the penny machine. They don't even have pennies in Canada anymore, so let's use these American pennies up.
Shiver me timbers. I'm playing a pirate game. I'm going to win me some money.
Tell us? Alright, I was a pretty lousy pirate, so I'm going to try my luck with this Owl game. Hoot! Hoot!
Ding ding ding ding ding. Being the supreme cheapskate that I am I'm cutting my loses after two dollars.
So we're here at the Bellagio for the water show. And they have a lot of frequent shows in the evening so we're just waiting for it to start.
So we are now at the Cosmopolitan and we are visiting one of the coolest bars in all of Las Vegas. This behind me is the Chandelier.

I love my city more than anything- the bright lights on screens as you drive down Las Vegas Boulevard, the delicious treats at Sprinkles and Serendipity 3, most of all the fact that any weekend can be made into an occasion. One of my biggest blessings is that what some people travel miles to see is just 20 minutes away from my house. I'm going to miss it so much when I'm up in Logan starting the next chapter of my life! I'm absolutely convinced that Vegas will always hold a piece of my heart though. With that said I want to share a project I've been working on for months that captures my favorite spots in the city.
Having called Vegas home for the past 10 years, I'd like to think I know my way around pretty well. For every friend's birthday or high school dance I'd be down on the strip enjoying all the food and entertainment that the city has to offer. This little video will show you exactly what that is!

In November 2009, Formento+Formento packed their home and 3 Siamese cats into their 27ft silver Airstream and began their epic cross country adventure. Armed with a small budget for everything from gas to styling, the plan was 5 months, 25 states and 50 women. With just the two of them to produce, style and shoot the entire production, they used googlemap as their travel guide and they embraced the open road, often scouting locations, meeting women and shooting them on the same day.
Paying homage to the work of Hitchcock, with influences of Cindy Sherman, as well as Edward Hopper - a prominent American realist painter who made solitude and introspection an important theme in his painting – ‘Circumstance’ is a body of work that encompasses these tributes and presents women at their most vulnerable, yet strong, to display a soul-searching calmness in the face of disaster. And although the locations and the heroine are specific, the concerns they are dealing with are universal.

Downtown Las Vegas, centered around Fremont Street, is the historic alternative to the Las Vegas Strip. It's where it all began, when it comes to gambling, booze and broads... and spontaneous brides...
When Scott and I traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we already knew we'd be headed to downtown Las Vegas for a renewal of vows ceremony at the Graceland Wedding Chapel with Las Vegas Elvis. But it was Scott's brother, Stephen Conklin, who lives in Las Vegas, who suggested we also experience the historic downtown at night. Can't deny the suggestion of a local! So on Anniversary Eve, he whisked us away from The Strip for a fun night out around Fremont Street.
We started with dinner at Oscar's Steakhouse in the Plaza Hotel. The restaurant, owned by former mayor Oscar Goodman, sports the slogan "Beef, Booze and Broads" and features matching old-timey atmosphere, with charismatic waiters, huge portions and a view of glitzy and sparkly Fremont Street.
The insider stories of the staff at Oscar's were only matched by our own local guide, Stephen, who seemed to know the thrilling history of every place and supplied us with plenty of inspiring gambler stories ("...he used his last dollar and won a million dollars on a slot machine..."). Thank you so much, Stephen!
We gave ourselves the full Fremont Street Experience, with the overhead light show, live cover band, cocktails from Binion's and finally ducking into several of the classic casinos. We did however skip the zip line and the slide through the shark tank. Instead, I won a $1000 in a $2 spin on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine inside the Golden Nugget!
We closed out the night at the more modern casino The D, where the female card dealers alternate between dealing cards and dancing on pedestals - and where the male bartenders entertain with their flair bartending skills. A special thanks to Eddie Razo for making the most entertaining Cosmo I've ever had - and letting me film the process.
Actually, we probably closed out the night at a bar or blackjack table in the Cosmopolitan Hotel back on the Strip. But who can really remember? All I know is that we had a ridiculous amount of fun that night and still made it to our renewal wedding at Graceland Chapel the next day on time... (In the video, this is in reverse order to give it a nicer visual flow from day to night. Creative license and all.)

Downtown Las Vegas, centered around Fremont Street, is the historic alternative to the Las Vegas Strip. It's where it all began, when it comes to gambling, booze and broads... and spontaneous brides...
When Scott and I traveled to Las Vegas to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, we already knew we'd be headed to downtown Las Vegas for a renewal of vows ceremony at the Graceland Wedding Chapel with Las Vegas Elvis. But it was Scott's brother, Stephen Conklin, who lives in Las Vegas, who suggested we also experience the historic downtown at night. Can't deny the suggestion of a local! So on Anniversary Eve, he whisked us away from The Strip for a fun night out around Fremont Street.
We started with dinner at Oscar's Steakhouse in the Plaza Hotel. The restaurant, owned by former mayor Oscar Goodman, sports the slogan "Beef, Booze and Broads" and features matching old-timey atmosphere, with charismatic waiters, huge portions and a view of glitzy and sparkly Fremont Street.
The insider stories of the staff at Oscar's were only matched by our own local guide, Stephen, who seemed to know the thrilling history of every place and supplied us with plenty of inspiring gambler stories ("...he used his last dollar and won a million dollars on a slot machine..."). Thank you so much, Stephen!
We gave ourselves the full Fremont Street Experience, with the overhead light show, live cover band, cocktails from Binion's and finally ducking into several of the classic casinos. We did however skip the zip line and the slide through the shark tank. Instead, I won a $1000 in a $2 spin on a Wheel of Fortune slot machine inside the Golden Nugget!
We closed out the night at the more modern casino The D, where the female card dealers alternate between dealing cards and dancing on pedestals - and where the male bartenders entertain with their flair bartending skills. A special thanks to Eddie Razo for making the most entertaining Cosmo I've ever had - and letting me film the process.
Actually, we probably closed out the night at a bar or blackjack table in the Cosmopolitan Hotel back on the Strip. But who can really remember? All I know is that we had a ridiculous amount of fun that night and still made it to our renewal wedding at Graceland Chapel the next day on time... (In the video, this is in reverse order to give it a nicer visual flow from day to night. Creative license and all.)

Good morning, brothers and sisters. How is everyone? It’s been a while since I’ve seen you. We spent a lovely Thanksgiving weekend with our True Parents in Las Vegas, and we got to meet our West Coast members once again. Our True Father gave his heart in addressing those who attended the World Assembly 2010. Father’s heart as the True Parent of humankind is to invest in his children, his eternal sons and daughters, so they can truly become great men and women of God. I’m realizing this as Father visits us more and more often, especially in Las Vegas. I told the congregation there that I’ve often wondered, why Las Vegas?
Of course Father wants to turn Sin City into a shining city on a hill by injecting a little bit of heaven. But people come to Las Vegas to win the jackpot, to experience their luck. It seems that our True Parents keep calling us to Las Vegas to remind us that we are all jackpot winners. We are, indeed, are we not?
We have our True Parents with us, and, knowing that they want America and our American movement to be great, they want our American sons and daughters to be outstanding people who can usher in a new millennium. They are here at this time together with us, sharing the breaking news. They are encouraging all of us around the world to think of ourselves as belonging to one family and to come into this family of God through being blessed to somebody who’s from a different background, race, or religion. They are therefore encouraging all of us to respect where we come from but at the same time to learn how to live and love together as a family. This has been the most important message our True Parents have brought to the world. To be experiencing it at this time is an incredible thing.
When we were getting ready for Sunday Service, the band had to rehearse; after rehearsal I bumped into Dave Hunter and his beautiful wife Mitsuru with their new baby, “Little Dave.” This is the first time I had a chance to meet Little Dave up close and personal. I had a chance to hold him. At Loving’ Life we’re terribly proud of Little Dave because we heard Mitsuru would be expecting while she was working for Lovin’ Life Ministries. To have the baby come and to be able to celebrate him as part of our worldwide family are beautiful things. And it continues as we see Mitsuru now as a wonderful mom, taking Little Dave along with her everywhere she goes. He’s such a bright spirit, and so cute.
I thought Dave and Mitsuru weren’t back with us yet. But they are, and it’s a definite improvement. Little Dave is so engaging. He has just started eating cereal and solid food. He’s goo-gooing and talking his own language that we don’t understand, but communicating nonetheless. He kept making eye contact with me. Chris Alan was seated on my left, and the baby was sitting on the other side, looking at all of us. He would stop and look at me and give me a big smile, and then look at Chris Alan and others and then come back and give me another big smile.
Chris turned to me and said, “I think he found somebody he likes.” Babies respond to women and, I think, to a woman’s voice because it’s very close to what they’re used to hearing from their mom’s voice. Little Dave was a bundle of delight and so much energy. I held him facing his parents, but because he could hear my voice from the back, he kept on bending backward. Chris Alan was laughing because it looked like Little Dave was doing a backward dive into my bosom. That’s what they’re used to, right? They want nourishment and comfort and to feel loved. When I was thinking about Little Dave and what a treasure he is, as well as all the other blessed children in our midst and all the new members being born into Lovin’ Life Ministries, I was thinking to myself, what kind of a generation is he going to be part of?
I wanted to share this You-Tube clip this morning because it poignantly expresses something very important for all of us to think about as human beings.

It’s a pessimistic look at how possibly a young person going through difficult times might be looking at his or her world. “I’m a part of this lost generation, of this generation that’s going to put work before my family, is not going to understand the value of my children, and is going to factor in my divorce even before I get married.” All of these things are so depressing.
I’ve often said that when I hear that a child is lost, to my ears it means that child is lonely, an orphan seeking some understanding or truth. Leonard Simon Nimoy 9March 26, 1931 – February 27, 2015) was an American actor, film director, photographer, author, poet, singer and songwriter. He was known for his role as Mr. Spock of the Star Trek franchise.
Nimoy began his career in his early twenties, teaching acting classes in Hollywood and making minor film and television appearances through the 1950s, as well as playing the title role in Kid Monk Baroni.
