Philip David Charles "Phil" Collins, LVO (born 30 January 1951), is an English singer, songwriter, musician, producer, actor and author. He is best known as the drummer and lead singer in the rock band Genesis and as a solo artist. Between 1983 and 1990, Collins scored three UK and seven US number-one singles in his solo career. When his work with Genesis, his work with other artists, as well as his solo career is totalled, Collins had more US top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s.
Born and raised in London, Collins played drums from the age of five and completed drama school training, which secured him various roles as a child actor. He then pursued a music career, joining Genesis in 1970 as their drummer and becoming lead singer in 1975 following the departure of Peter Gabriel. Collins began a solo career in the 1980s, initially inspired by his marital breakdown and love of soul music, releasing a series of successful albums, including Face Value (1981), No Jacket Required (1985) and ...But Seriously (1989). His most successful singles include "In the Air Tonight", "Against All Odds", "Sussudio" and "Another Day in Paradise", becoming "one of the most successful pop and adult contemporary singers of the '80s and beyond". He also became known for a distinctive gated reverb drum sound on many of his recordings. After leaving Genesis in 1996, Collins pursued various solo projects before a return in 2006 for the Turn It On Again Tour. In 2011, he retired to focus on his family life, but continued to write songs. He announced his return to the music industry in 2015.
"Let Me" is a song written by Marc Beeson and Danny Orton, and recorded by American country music singer Pat Green. It was released in June 2008 as the lead-off single from his album What I'm For, which was released on January 27, 2009. The song peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, becoming his second highest-charting single, behind 2003's "Wave on Wave", which peaked at #3.
"Let Me" is a mid-tempo ballad in which the narrator promises to offer emotional support to the one that he loves.
Describing the song in a cut-by-cut synopsis of the album on Sony BMG Nashville's website, Green said that he liked the melody of the chorus (which contains multiple repetitions of the same note). He also said that the song drew his attention because it was a love song that did not explicitly use the word "love".
The song received a "thumbs down" review from the country music site Engine 145. Reviewer Brady Vercher criticized the song for being overproduced and trying to "garner radio success than pushing both [Green's and the producer's] boundaries to create something worthwhile." He also thought that vocally, Green got "lost" in the song and was unable to add any personality to the delivery.Washington Post critic Chris Richards said that Green's vocal delivery did not "sit right" in the "slow-burn" of the song, and Joey Guerra of the Houston Chronicle called it "stock country loverboy stuff."
"Calling You" is a song from the 1987 movie, Bagdad Café. It was originally recorded by Jevetta Steele. Bob Telson, the songwriter, also recorded his version. Both versions appeared on the movie soundtrack. The song was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 61st Academy Awards.
Celine Dion covered "Calling You" many times during her live performances between 1990 and 1996. The 1994 performance recorded in Olympia, Paris was included on À l'Olympia live album and released as the first and only single in December 1994.
Dion performed "Calling You" during her concert tours in the first half of the 1990s: Unison Tour, Celine Dion in Concert, The Colour of My Love Tour and D'eux Tour. She also sang it live on few television shows over the years.
The 1991 performance in the Winter Garden Theatre was released on the Unison home video, the 1994 performance in the Olympia, Paris was featured on À l'Olympia live album and the 1995 performance in Zénith de Paris was included on the Live à Paris DVD. "Calling You" taken from À l'Olympia was also featured as B-side on Dion's 1995 singles, "Only One Road" and "Pour que tu m'aimes encore."
"In the Air Tonight" is the debut solo single by English drummer, singer and songwriter Phil Collins. It was released as the lead single from Collins' first solo album, Face Value, in January 1981.
Collins co-produced the single with Hugh Padgham, who became a frequent collaborator in the following years. The song was an instant hit, quickly climbing to No. 2 on the UK Singles chart. It was also an international hit, peaking at No. 19 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and No. 1 in the Netherlands. It was later certified Gold by the RIAA, representing 500,000 copies sold. The song's music video, directed by Stuart Orme, received heavy play on MTV when the new cable music video channel launched in August 1981. It remains one of Collins' best-known hits and is especially famous for his drum break towards the end, which has been described as "the sleekest, most melodramatic drum break in history".
Collins wrote the song about the anger he felt after divorcing his first wife, Andrea, in 1979. In a 1997 BBC Radio 2 documentary, the singer revealed that the divorce contributed to his 1979 hiatus from Genesis until the band regrouped in October of that year to record the album Duke.

hear you calling me
you've called me when the moon had a viel of light
before I went from you into the night
I came
do you remember?
that you
for one more kiss
beneath the kind star's light
I hear you calling me
And oh the weary gladness in your voice
that warmth that's made my longing heart rejoice
you spoke
do you remember?
all my heart
still hears that kiss
and music of your voice
I can hear you calling me
though years have stretched their weary years between
and over your grave the grass has now grown green
I stand
do you remember?
resting here
I'm still hearing your voice
through all the years between
