Janno Ronaldo Gibbs (born September 16, 1969) is a Filipino singer-songwriter, actor and comedian. He was a regular host of GMA Network television shows SOP Rules, Nuts Entertainment, Eat Bulaga, Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5?, Power of 10, and Sunday All Stars.

Early career

Gibbs started out in 1986 as one of the members of the teen variety show That's Entertainment on GMA Network. Gibbs then played some minor film roles for Viva Films. Gibbs was co-host of the TV show "Small Brothers" in 1990.

Recent TV career

Gibbs is popularly known for his role in the 90's sitcom Ober Da Bakod and Beh Bote Nga, both with Anjo Yllana. Gibbs also played the character Geron Agular in Codename: Asero which was aired in 2008.

Gibbs recently moved to TV5 after being with GMA for 30 years. He is currently one of the hosts of TV5's game and musical variety show "Happy Truck ng Bayan".

Music career

Gibbs released a Vicor Music single called "Miss" in 1988 which became a radio hit. His recordings include his rendition of "Ipagpatawad Mo", "Ikaw Lamang", "Fallin'" and other ballads. He was also cast in a musical play called Kenkoy Loves Rosing.

Ikaw Lamang (Lit: Only You / English: No Greater Love) is a 2014 Philippine period drama television series, directed by Malu L. Sevilla and Avel E. Sunpongco, starring Kim Chiu and Coco Martin, together with an ensemble cast. The series was aired on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel from March 10, 2014 to October 24, 2014, replacing Got to Believe.

The story of the entire first book followed the lives of Samuel (Coco Martin), Isabelle (Kim Chiu), Mona (Julia Montes), and Franco (Jake Cuenca) that set in the 1960s and 1970s, and later in the 1980s. It aired for 107 episodes from March 10, 2014 to August 8, 2014.

In the second book, the story revolved around Gabriel (Coco Martin), Andrea (Kim Chiu), and Natalia (KC Concepcion) that set in the year 2005, with brief flashbacks from the 1990s. It aired for only 55 episodes from August 11, 2014 to October 24, 2014.

Plot

Eduardo Hidalgo (Tirso Cruz III), a wealthy landowner based in Salvacion, Negros Island, has a relationship with one of the workers in his plantation, Elena Severino (Cherry Pie Picache). However, when Maximo Salazar (Ronaldo Valdez), the butler in the hacienda of the Hidalgos, learns that Elena is pregnant, he manipulates a robbery in which Elena is unjustly implicated, causing her to be imprisoned only to be released on the condition that she leaves Salvacion. Eduardo marries Maximo's daughter named Miranda (Cherie Gil), not knowing that Elena is pregnant with his son. Elena and Miranda give birth to their respective children named Samuel and Franco, with the latter not being Eduardo's son but that of a beauty contest judge. Luis (William Lorenzo) assumes the role of a father to Samuel but dies later on. With a heavy heart, however, Elena and her family are forced to return to Salvacion in the years that follow.
