Electric boogaloo (dance)
Electric boogaloo (sometimes mistakenly referred to as electric boogie) is a funk-style of hip hop dance closely related to popping. It became the signature style of the dance group started in the 1970s, the Electric Boogaloos. Along with electric boogaloo they also popularized popping and many of its related styles.
It is characterized as a fluid leg-oriented style danced to funk music, utilizing rolls of the hips, knees, legs, and head, which was later combined with popping.

Electric Boogaloo (song)
"Electric Boogaloo" is a dance-pop song by American music duo Ollie & Jerry. Released in late 1984 as the lead single from the soundtrack to the film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo, the song reached number 45 on the R&B chart.
Background
Detroit natives and prolific session musicians Ollie E. Brown and Jerry Knight first collaborated as the duo Ollie & Jerry on the soundtrack to the 1984 breakdancing-themed film Breakin'. The first track of that album, "Breakin'... There's No Stopping Us", was released as a single and reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the summer of 1984.
Following the success of this record, Ollie & Jerry were asked to contribute music for the Breakin's sequel, Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo. The term "electric boogaloo" refers to a dance style of the same name. The duo recorded the track "Electric Boogaloo", which was released as a single.
Although the "Electric Boogaloo" single was less successful than its predecessor (not charting on Billboard''s Top 40), the Breakin' 2 soundtrack itself did reach number 25 on the Billboard R&B Albums chart, and number 52 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

Breakdancing, hip-hop, rap, and a good time are the main stars of this standard teen movie about youths trying to raise money to save their community club from being razed for a shopping mall. Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones) and Turbo (Michael Chambers) are two master breakdancers who have started a community club to teach other teens how to manage the acrobatics of the dance without literally breaking anything. Their efforts create some choreographed, group breakdancing that is rather innovative. But an evil developer (Peter MacLean) sees their property as ideal for a shopping mall project -- and a crooked politician is willing to back him up for a fee. Ozone (Adolfo Quinones) and the gang perform a benefit dance concert to help save Miracles community center.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Breakdancing, hip-hop, rap, and a good time are the main stars of this standard teen movie about youths trying to raise money to save their community club from being razed for a shopping mall. Ozone (Adolfo Quiñones) and Turbo (Michael Chambers) are two master breakdancers who have started a community club to teach other teens how to manage the acrobatics of the dance without literally breaking anything. Their efforts create some choreographed, group breakdancing that is rather innovative. But an evil developer (Peter MacLean) sees their property as ideal for a shopping mall project -- and a crooked politician is willing to back him up for a fee. As the teens do their best to raise money to keep their center, some are also battling with restrictive parents or trying to ease into romantic liaisons that offer their own challenges.
