Psycho Realm

The Psycho Realm is an American hip hop group started in 1989 by brothers Sick Jacken (Jack Gonzalez) and Big Duke (Gustavo Gonzalez) from the Downtown, Pico-Union area of Los Angeles. The first recorded Psycho Realm song, "Scandalous", was released on the soundtrack of the film Mi Vida Loca in 1994. That same year B-Real of the rap group Cypress Hill saw Psycho Realm performing at Olvera Street for an End Barrio Warfare concert. Their performance inspired B-Real to the point that he wanted to join the group. With this time period being the height of Cypress Hill’s career anything Cypress Hill related would get major publicity.

In 1997 Sony released the first Psycho Realm album, labeled as an addition to the Cypress Hill Family by the sticker placed on the CD case. Due to conflicts with the record label the Gonzalez brothers were dropped from Sony as Jacken explains, "the machine was just trying to censor me / Didn't do it for Sony so they ended up releasing me / Independent, no longer locked down for an infinity / So my vicinity stays true to my identity." The brothers then went on to form Sick Symphonies, their own record label, which lacked the big budget for promotion and distribution in chain stores along with group member B-Real, who was stuck on his contract with Sony for Cypress Hill.

Butcher

A butcher is a person who may slaughter animals, dress their flesh, sell their meat or do any combination of these three tasks. They may prepare standard cuts of meat, poultry, fish, and shellfish for sale in retail or wholesale food establishments. A butcher may be employed by supermarkets, grocery stores, butcher shops and fish markets, slaughter house, or may be self-employed.

An ancient trade, whose duties may date back to the domestication of livestock, butchers formed guilds in England as far back as 1272. Today, many jurisdictions offer trade certifications for butchers. Some areas expect a three-year apprenticeship followed by the option of becoming a master butcher.

Duties

Butchery is a traditional line of work. In the industrialized world, slaughterhouses use butchers to slaughter the animals, performing one or a few of the steps repeatedly as specialists on a semiautomated disassembly line. The steps include stunning (rendering the animal incapacitated), exsanguination (severing the carotid or brachial arteries to facilitate blood removal), skinning (removing the hide or pelt) or scalding and dehairing (pork), evisceration (removing the viscera) and splitting (dividing the carcass in half longitudinally).

Joe Nicolo

Joe Nicolo is a record producer, engineer, and owner of a recording studio and a record company. Joe was the co-owner and president of Ruffhouse Records from 1986 to 2000. He is one half of the Butcher Bros with his brother, Phil Nicolo.

In 2009, he started a new record company Revel Music Group with his son Tyler Nicolo and partner Coley.

Eric "Bobo" Correa

Eric "Bobo" Correa (born August 27, 1968) is a percussionist and a member of the bands Cypress Hill, Sol Invicto, Ritmo Machine and Richie Londres. He performed and recorded with the Beastie Boys through the 1990s.

Biography and career

Eric "Bobo" Correa is the son of Latin jazz musician Willie Bobo. He began drumming at the age of four, and made his first public appearance at the age of five, performing on stage with his father.

When he was 15, his father died and he took over his Latin jazz band for a full year while still in high school. He attended C.S.U.L.A. for three years (1985-1988) and worked in the jazz studies of the music department and recorded on three critically acclaimed jazz LPs: We're Back, Diversions, and Monstrosity!. With a recommendation from a friend, he got an audition with the Beastie Boys and was accepted to join them on their national "Check Your Head" tour.

Correa ended up recording with the Beastie Boys for the albums Ill Communication and Hello Nasty. While on tour with the Beasties, Correa encountered Cypress Hill and joined the group as their percussionist for their world tours, splitting time between both groups.

Music video

A music video or song video is a short film integrating a song and imagery, produced for promotional or artistic purposes. Modern music videos are primarily made and used as a marketing device intended to promote the sale of music recordings. There are also cases where songs are used in tie in marketing campaigns that allow them to become more than just a song. Tie ins and merchandising could be used in toys are marketing campaigns for food and other products. Although the origins of music videos date back to musical short films that first appeared in the 1920s, they came into prominence in the 1980s when MTV based their format around the medium. Prior to the 1980s, these works were described by various terms including "illustrated song", "filmed insert", "promotional (promo) film", "promotional clip", "promotional video", "song video", "song clip" or "film clip". Since the creation and increased popularity of YouTube, mainstream artists now promote new music videos by releasing trailers of short promos on the site for their upcoming song and music video. Consequentially, YouTube has been converted into a social media platform for celebrities and artists to market themselves to their fans and audiences.
