A strike is a term used in bowling to indicate that all of the pins have been knocked down with the first ball of a frame. On a bowling score sheet, a strike is symbolized by an X.

Scoring

When all ten pins are completely knocked down with the first ball (called a strike and typically rendered as an "X" on a score sheet), a player is awarded ten points, plus a bonus of whatever is scored with the next two balls. In this way, the points scored for the two balls after the strike are counted twice.

Strike scoring works similarly for five-pin bowling, except strikes are worth 15 points rather than 10 (as the pins are scored with the values of 2, 3, 5, 3, and 2).

Consecutive strikes

Two consecutive strikes are referred to as a "double" (or a "Barney Rubble" to rhyme) aka the "rhino". Three strikes bowled consecutively is known as a "turkey". Any longer string of strikes is referred to by a number affixed to the word "bagger," as in "four-bagger" for four consecutive strikes. ESPN commentator Rob Stone created the name "hambone" to describe four consecutive strikes.

Honky (album)

Honky is the ninth album by Melvins, which was released in 1997 through Amphetamine Reptile Records. It is widely considered to be the band's most experimental album. Their first studio album after being dropped from Atlantic, it contains a mixture of traditional Melvins-sounding rock, experiments with drones and soundscapes, and some rather uncharacteristic electronic pieces. A video was made for "Mombius Hibachi". "Lovely Butterfly" became a live favorite and is still played to this day. The final track, "In the Freaktose the Bugs are Dying", concludes with more than 25 minutes of silence.

In an interview, Buzz Osborne said that album cost $3000 to make, three days rehearsal, and six days recording. The project was an attempt to plug the gap after the major release of the previous album Stag under Atlantic label. Joe Barresi was the engineer on the album.

The album's 8-minute plus opening track "They All Must Be Slaughtered" features co-lead vocals from Kat Bjelland of Babes in Toyland.

"Hello (Turn Your Radio On)" is a song by the British-based pop duo Shakespears Sister, and was released the fourth single from their second album Hormonally Yours. The single peaked at #14 and spent 6 weeks on the UK singles chart. Internationally, the single peaked at #27 in Ireland, #12 in Germany, #9 in Switzerland, #33 in the Netherlands, #20 in Sweden, #97 in Australia, and #43 in New Zealand.

Background

The single was released in the UK on 26 October 1992. The album version of the song was remixed for its single release, featuring more bass and adding drums. The single version is also slightly extended, with a repeat of the chorus towards the end of the song. The single sleeve artwork was created by Laurence Dunmore, with photography by Derek Ridgers.

"Hello" is a song by English singer Adele. It was released on 23 October 2015 by XL Recordings as the lead single from her third studio album, 25 (2015). Adele co-wrote the song with her producer, Greg Kurstin. "Hello" is a piano ballad with soul influences, and lyrics that discuss themes of nostalgia and regret. Upon release, the song was well received by music critics, who compared it favourably to Adele's previous work and praised the song's lyrics and Adele's vocals.

"Hello" attained international commercial success reaching number one in almost every country it charted in, including the United Kingdom, where it became her second UK number-one single, following "Someone like You", and has the largest opening week sales in three years. It also broke the record for shortest time to attain 100 million Vevo views, previously held by Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball", as well as shortest time to reach 1 billion YouTube views (88 days). Adele promoted the song with a live performance on a BBC one-hour special, entitled Adele at the BBC.

"Hello! (Good To Be Back)" is a song by German band Scooter. The song samples the refrain from Gary Glitter's 1973 single "Hello, Hello, I'm Back Again". It was released in October 2005 as the lead single from the album Who's Got the Last Laugh Now?.
