The Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) is a federally funded research and development center and NASA field center located in La Cañada Flintridge, California and Pasadena, California, United States.
The JPL is managed by the nearby California Institute of Technology (Caltech) for NASA. The laboratory's primary function is the construction and operation of planetary robotic spacecraft, though it also conducts Earth-orbit and astronomy missions. It is also responsible for operating NASA's Deep Space Network.
Among the laboratory's current major active projects are the Mars Science Laboratory mission (which includes the Curiosity rover), the Cassini–Huygens mission orbiting Saturn, the Mars Exploration Rover Opportunity, the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the Dawn mission to the dwarf planet Ceres and asteroid Vesta, the Juno spacecraft en route to Jupiter, the NuSTAR X-ray telescope, and the Spitzer Space Telescope. They are also responsible for managing the JPL Small-Body Database, and provides physical data and lists of publications for all known small Solar System bodies.

JPL (formerly JPL Video Productions and then JPL Productions) was established in 1989 when co-founders Michael Horgan and Christian Masters purchased the Video Productions Department from J.P. Lilley in Harrisburg. They formed a new company called “JPL Video Productions.” At first, there were only three employees, but by 1993, the company had signed on its 15th employee and relocated to a new facility, complete with a production studio, three studio-configured cameras, a cyclorama, and a control room. In 1995, JPL established the “Interactive Technologies Group.”
In 2000, they merged with York-based production company, Kennedy/Lee, and brought on board three experienced video professionals. When web development company MarginPoint joined JPL in 2002, the company added web application development and e-Marketing to its list of services. That same year, JPL was named one of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania by the Central Penn Business Journal -–an honor they would receive for the next seven years, distinguishing JPL as one of only six companies across the state to win the award that many consecutive years.
The JPL was a cyclecar built in Detroit, Michigan by the J.P.L. Cyclecar Company in 1913. The JPL was designed by J.P. La Vigne who was an early and ubiquitous engineer in the industry. The cyclecar was equipped with a four-cylinder air-cooled engine with a sliding-gear transmission. The vehicle was claimed to get 30 mpg-US (7.8 L/100 km; 36 mpg-imp)-40 mpg-US (5.9 L/100 km; 48 mpg-imp), and have a top speed of 50 mph (80 km/h).

A DJ mix or DJ mixset is a sequence of musical tracks typically mixed together to appear as one continuous track. DJ mixes are usually performed using a DJ mixer and multiple sounds sources, such as turntables, CD players, digital audio players or computer sound cards, sometimes with the addition of samplers and effects units, although it's possible to create one using sound editing software.
DJ mixing is significantly different from live sound mixing. Remix services were offered beginning in the late 1970s in order to provide music which was more easily beatmixed by DJs for the dancefloor. One of the earliest DJs to refine their mixing skills was DJ Kool Herc.Francis Grasso was the first DJ to use headphones and a basic form of mixing at the New York nightclub Sanctuary. A DJ mix is often put together with music from genres that fit into the more general term electronic dance music. Other genres mixed by DJ includes hip hop, breakbeat and disco. Four on the floor disco beats can be used to create seamless mixes so as to keep dancers locked to the dancefloor. Two of main characteristics of music used in dj mixes is a dominant bassline and repetitive beats. Music mixed by djs usually has a tempo which ranges from 120 bpm up to 160 bpm.
Mix is the debut studio album by New Zealand Pop rock band Stellar, released by Sony BMG on 29 July 1999. The album debuted at #2 on the RIANZ albums chart, and after seven weeks within the top 10 would finally reach the #1 position. The album would spend a whole 18 weeks within the top 10 on the charts. The album was certified 5x platinum, meaning that it had sold over 75,000 copies in New Zealand.
The album was re-released on 18 February 2000 as a limited edition which included a new cover art and a bonus CD-rom that included the music videos for the singles "Part of Me", "Violent" and "Every Girl" as well as three remixes (these had appeared on previous singles) and an 8-minute documentary. Even after the limited edition's run had finished, all subsequent pressings of the album would feature the new cover.
Mix became the 22nd best-selling album in 2000 in New Zealand. At the New Zealand Music Awards in 2000, Mix won the Album of the Year award.
Unique was a short-lived post-disco studio act from New York, best known for their crossover number "What I Got Is What You Need" released in 1983 for a well-established dance label, Prelude Records. The group was formed by producer/songwriter Deems J. Smith in 1982 and consists of Smith and Darryl K. Henry. The said hit song somewhat established itself on the Billboard Dance Singles and Black Singles charts and even scored over the atlantic reaching No. 27 on UK Singles Chart.
Around 1982, record producer Deems J. Smith hired studio musicians to appear in a project he named Unique. He was signed to dance record label Prelude and under this name released two singles: "What I Got Is What You Need" in 1983 and "You Make Me Feel So Good" in 1984. Other people involved in the group were Mona Maria Norris and Darryl K. Henry who co-wrote "What I Got Is What You Need." Smith wrote the second song alone and it was mixed by an aspiring dance-pop producer Shep Pettibone.

The InSight Mission to Mars began its journey to the Red Planet in May 2018. Upon its arrival in November 2018, InSight began an ambitious mission to reveal the internal structure of Mars. The lander detected more than 1,000 marsquakes, studied the Martian weather, and even found magnetic “ghosts” from an old electrical field. The mission ended four years after it began, when the solar panels finally succumbed to the accumulation of Martian dust that prevented them from generating power. A team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is creating and testing a snake-like robot called EELS (Exobiology Extant Life Surveyor). Inspired by a desire to descend vents on Saturn’s icy moon Enceladus and enter the subsurface ocean, this versatile robot is being developed to autonomously map, traverse, and explore previously inaccessible destinations on Earth, the Moon, and other worlds in our solar system.
