Yelagiri is a beautiful place in southern India and is located among the hills on all sides of it. Its a beautiful hill station with pleasing environment and fine climate and the place is fabulously wonderful in the winters. Highly populated with tribals who are chiefly engaged in forestry, agriculture and horticulture along with all other occupations undertaken by the rural people.
A wonderful tourist place where one can enjoy the charms of traditional life in the lap of the mother earth. The path taking the roadway to Yelagiri is finely constructed and well punctuated with the milestones and signboards all way through. Petrol pumps are sufficient enough which makes traveling convenient and easy.
Huge plains can be seen from the ghat and visitors enjoy using their telescope for enjoying the ethnic beauty which stays spread far and wide. A little risk of the stray animals does persist but one can always enjoy a good time with the tamed ones. The difficulty which one would actually face is the lack of medication facility provided in these areas. So, when one opts for the hilly destination one is supposed to have first aid kit, so as to avoid any medical traumas.
It is a wonderful place for trekking and people generally love going trekking in these hilly areas. Full of wonderful temples on the hilly region, it makes it a wonderful place for the young and old alike. Temple bells add a special mythological essence to the bells and keeps the feeling of life alive even in times of bare silence.

Yelagiri is a hill station in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, India, situated off the Vaniyambadi-Tirupattur road Located at an altitude of 1,110.6 metres above Mean Sea Level and spread across 30 km2, the Yelagiri village (also spelled Elagiri at times) is surrounded by orchards, rose-gardens, and green valleys.
The road to Yelagiri is well constructed and punctuated with the milestones and signboards. There are 14 Hairpin bends on this lovely road and each bend is named after a famous TAMIL personality form the yesteryear's.
The Yelagiri hill station is not as developed as other hill stations in Tamil Nadu like Ooty or Kodaikanal. However, the district administration has now taken up the task of developing Yelagiri Hills into a tourist destination by promoting adventure sports such as paragliding and rock climbing.

Yelagiri is a mini hill station in Vellore District.Nearest rail head is Jolarpet,which is 21 kms.From Thirupathur it is 27kms.While coming by bus one should alight at Ponneri Junction,from there Yelagiri is 14 kms.This 14kms distance has 14 hairpin points which are all named under Tamil Poets and Kings.In Yelagiri there are sightseeing places like,boating,Botonical Garden,Nature Park,Niavur Boating and Park,Musical fountain and Aquorium. Yelagiri or Elagiri is a small hill station located in between the towns of Vaniyambadi and Jolarpettai (Tamil Nadu, India). The hill station dates back to the British colonial days.
"The Whole of Yelagiri was once the private property of the Yelagiri Zamindar Family. It was taken over by the government of India during the Early 1950s. The house of the Yelagiri Zamindars still exists in Reddiyur."

Yelagiri is a mini hill station in Vellore District.Nearest rail head is Jolarpet,which is 21 kms.From Thirupathur it is 27kms.While coming by bus one should alight at Ponneri Junction,from there Yelagiri is 14 kms.This 14kms distance has 14 hairpin points which are all named under Tamil Poets and Kings.In Yelagiri there are sightseeing places like,boating,Botonical Garden,Nature Park,Niavur Boating and Park,Musical fountain and Aquorium. Yelagiri is a hill station in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, India, situated off the Vaniyambadi-Tirupattur road Located at an altitude of 1,110.6 metres above Mean Sea Level and spread across 30 km2, the Yelagiri village (also spelled Elagiri at times) is surrounded by orchards, rose-gardens, and green valleys. The road to Yelagiri is well constructed and punctuated with the milestones and signboards. There are 14 Hairpin bends on this lovely road and each bend is named after a famous TAMIL personality form the yesteryear's. A wonderful tourist place where one can enjoy the charms of traditional life in the lap of the mother earth. The path taking the roadway to Yelagiri is finely constructed and well punctuated with the milestones and signboards all way through. Petrol pumps are sufficient enough which makes traveling convenient and easy.
Huge plains can be seen from the ghat and visitors enjoy using their telescope for enjoying the ethnic beauty which stays spread far and wide. A little risk of the stray animals does persist but one can always enjoy a good time with the tamed ones. The difficulty which one would actually face is the lack of medication facility provided in these areas. So, when one opts for the hilly destination one is supposed to have first aid kit, so as to avoid any medical traumas.
It is a wonderful place for trekking and people generally love going trekking in these hilly areas. Full of wonderful temples on the hilly region, it makes it a wonderful place for the young and old alike. Temple bells add a special mythological essence to the bells and keeps the feeling of life alive even in times of bare silence.
